its balanced with BIS units much like there excellent Eagle, this has both its advantages and disadvantages.

Sorry to be an arse, but...

Let's put it this way: should you ever have some free time ( biggrin_o.gif ), please make additional brighter cammo version for use on Zwadar's Desert Everon 2. I think this will make everybody happy.

at longer distances damaged challengers looose the black tinge to their armor. this includes completely destroyed vehicles.

It was the same with the black eagle.

IF the tanks are expected to fight in a certain area for a long duration, you can bet yer boots some experts will look at the paint schemes to match best the surroundings overthere.

Heh, you don't know how retarded the MoD is, half the British armour in Iraq was still in woodland colour schemes due to a lack of paint.  Great addon by the way, it ownes M1A1's and T80s.

Lack of paint? no shit? one phonecall to a paint factory and they deliver it to ya by truckloads in a few days.

I think supidity and money were the problem there. as allways.

great tank BTW but on testing it I have found some interesting facts.

From a distance against the BIS american abram the challenger takes heavy damage and is disabled in around 2 shots (although it takes many more to destroy the tank)

Up close however and it can take around 4 shots to disable the challenger and even more to destroy it.. by which time it has destroyed the abram

I also noticed that the gun seemed very weak in comparison to the abram, hitting the abram with 2 shells at a distance resulted in very little damage... while 2 hits from the abram disabled the challenger

Considering the similarity (and superiority of the challenger's) gun and tracking system should these odd's not be tweaked a little?

Having said that the tank model itself is excellent and looks great side by side with the tunguska and black eagle... nice work blues.gif

The auto-switching of MG -> main gun, suspension, camo, everything. smile_o.gif Ecxept the BIS balancing. sad_o.gif

It's just too bad that we don't have any good British units to go with them, it's a nice tank and all but it seems a bit...

pointless to have it by itself, with American crew. Well, I suppose you are cooperating with UKF so they will use it in their mod? smile_o.gif

I think that would be smartest.

Am I the only one that thinks the desert camo scheme works well. Especially given BIS Desert Textures and the afghanistan island which I use most of the time.

Actually, UK forces started theirs quite a while before the DKM one

and will be quite accurate as they have an/or a few (ex?) chally 2 operators

consulting on it.

nopopenope! and the orig. feedback wasnt even about the sand scheme,

it was about the green version - being too bright  crazy_o.gif  biggrin_o.gif

but then everyone started to cry about the desert camo instead...

and the DKM's on stage forgot to reply on the "woody"  smile_o.gif

thus:

Is the woodland camo too bright (compared to most OFP isles) or not ?

it could be nice to hear "everybodys" voice before the tank is out <for real>  wow_o.gif  unclesam.gif

though I seriously understand if DKM dont wanna re-tex it all over, lol  sad_o.gif  tounge_o.gif who would!

i'll darken the woody a bit, was unsure about it myself also, but seeing some of the feedback i think i can darken it a little

i have no intention to brighten the desert one hoever, MAYBE i add one that is brighter, but it will cost ya ~1.2MB extra dl size.

The desert version needs some "Dont shoot we're friendly!" markings for realism...

I think its great that UKF are also making one, that way we have one from DKM which looks good with all the other DKM addons, and we also have one which goes well with Flashpoint addons.

well, nice addons, but i found strange bug smile_o.gif

Fighting versus your black eagle (russians dont have anything to do versus this great tank), he use his smoke shells when challenger2 destroyed his cannon, and on the top right of my screens appear this text, seems to be some kind of scripting bug, and it happened everytime i fight versus black eagle, first time it was ai vs ai, second time it was me vs ai, without mods and with 1.96:

'format["",(_this select 7)]|#| == false" ':error division cero

One more thing, after that text appear, the smoke shells were launched and the smoke cover the black eagle, so the challenger cant see it.

PD: It happen when i update the dkmm_rsc.pbo, with the old one that came with black eagle it dont happened.

PD2: I dont know if this could be implemented, i dont know anything about scripting, but here is my idea. When i try this tank, i puto two ai to fight, the black eagle vs challenger, challenger destroyed the cannon of the black eagle and he launched the smoke shells, then challenger stop fighting and wait till smoke dissapear, could be cool that when black eagle use his smoke shell the ai challenger start to move arround the smoke until he find the black eagle, because if you are the black eagle, everything you have to do to destroy the challenger is use the smoke shell and move arround the challenger until u'are behind them.

PD3: Even with those bugs (remind its beta...).................!!!VERY IMPRESSIVE TANK!!!  biggrin_o.gif  biggrin_o.gif  biggrin_o.gif

At the end it seems to be a black eagle bug, i try the black eagle, i was commander, and when i launch the smoke shells that text appear everytime i launch it.

I only saw the BAS RUSOPFOR and partially completed rangers/deltas.... so in my opinion these fine tanks did overshadow it. Sorry if that offends you but it's the truth as I see it. Just wondering when the week will be completed.. been a long week. wink_o.gif

Very pretty tank, but the gun is kind of weak. It took me four shots to take out a rusty T-72... I don't really know what ammo this tank uses, but is this realistic? Apart from that, great tank! smile_o.gif
