Operation White Night, the modification designated to the Swedish Armed Forces, has closed down.

Those are the best looking soldiers I've ever seen in flashpoint.

I really really really hope they come to their sences and release what they have created.

Mods are dying.. is this the beginning of the end for the OFP community?

Indeed it is a shame. Those units especially look good. If the OWN team so wished, I could work on them, and perhaps finish them off, so the OFP community doesn't lose out on them fully. PM me if you're interested.

Too bad, but I have always wondered why there were two swedish mods. Also I dont understand why they wont release the models they have made so far. SFP should have got them...

If these two mods had been merged we could have had a swedish counterpart to the FDF mod.

From what I've heard the soldiers and their weapons are already complete, they just don't plan on releasing them even though the mod (technically) no longer exists.

Edit: Not to mention the S-Tank. Damn.. I was really looking forward to it.

They did try to come to an agreement, but it was impossible at the time. It would indeed have been great as both teams have produced some really killer things.

Personally I would be thrilled if they could come to an agreement over things now, and the few devoted members OWN have left could continue work together with the lads of SFP. Sadly it looks like that will never happen....

The Operation Flashpoint Community is slowly dying yes, it is. We have still alot of people around but not as many as must people presume. People who want to start mods are starting them must unfortanetly too late in the OFP Era. We don't have the plentiful resources that we had in the begining.

OFP:2 will be about soon. I imagine we have grown smaller mostly due to that because people want a break for a while from the game so that once they see OFP2 in the stores and buy it, they will be ready for a new experience and we will get some old members back, and some new newbies, but rest assured we will be revitalized.

Some people dont appreciate how good the community is right now. The mods and TC's coming out right now are better than they have ever been.

A few mods come and a few mods go. The game isnt new but lots of people still play. A lot of people dont even post or come here so all the doom and gloom statements arent worth anything IMO.

I agree. Things are really good at the moment. The problems operation white night faced are generic to a public volunteer effort. Surf Livesaving clubs, charities and ofp mods will surely suffer member turnover and people who dont hold up their end of the deal.

I beg operation white night to send their unfinished work to SFP or put it out to the public. I need that Str 122!

Yep the community has dwindled. I remember going onto OFPEC ages ago and seeing at least 30-40 members signed up each time i visited. Now lucky to see a dozen there. I had noticed a shift to these forums after O2 was made public, but it is sad to see another mod disappear.

They should release what theyve made, it'd be a waste to not release it.

As for OFP dying, thats crap. There always has been a limited number of addon makers around, and some teams are bound to struggle to find staff.....and as the established mods get more established, we begin to see the structrually weak ones drop out.

What's this talk about dying? Like CT said, the mods coming out now are the best ever and are improving all the time, breaking new ground and becoming more organized.
