456820 0 Posted July 31, 2006 Dont wory with an ETA i would prefer that it is released later and with more detail and less bugs then released on time with the possibility of more bugs within the island. Love the pictures of the island and cant wait as much as everyone else but dont rush it. Good things come to those who wait. Edit - Just wondering what kind of frame rates will i get with this computer. AMD athlon XP 2200+ 1.8 ghz (Or 2.2ghz not actually sure) 768mb RAM Geforce 6600 256mb GT (AGP) Its quite an old computer about 4 years but my gfx card is about 7months old. Cant wait. sniping-jack 0 Posted July 31, 2006 Depending on the viewrange you should get enough FPS. The island was tested on a CPU similar to yours and with a GFX which was pretty small and old (GF 3800 or so). My personally PC is a >2,5 years old Notebook with 3.2GHz + ATI 9600 pro 128. It works fine in all places when the viewrange is between 9oom (MP) and 11oom with good details. Its clear to say that I cannot design all this features without harm the performance in any cases (especially long view distances). But the important thing is that all objects are deeply overworked for performance. This means - in normal case -  that you just have do reduce the viewrange more or less to reduce the total number of objects in far sight until the island will run smooth. Please note: The total number of objects to render will increase exponentially if you increase your view distance and vice versa! At least you will see that the island will run in any case because there are nowhere single objects which could kill the  speed of the Game by alone. PS: The ETA will be hold because of reasons which nothing has to do with OFP. Edit: The Countdown is running to its end...
Lockheed Martin-ch 0 Posted July 31, 2006 [ 31.07.06 / Mapfact Nogova2 released ] It is time: Just before the announced release date (June/July) runs off, Sniping-Jack finished his Mapfact Nogova2 project. This island upgrade kept Sniping-Jack busy for far more than one year and we are proud to present you the result of his work today. Chneemann as BETA tester, raedor as scripter and in particularly Lockheed Martin$ch as untiringly helping hand with config questions and some models (bridge) stood aside him expecially in the hot final phase. read more on our homepage Post your comments in the main Mapfact Nogova2 thread.
