bonko the sane 2 Posted January 25, 2004 Txs llauma, these skyes (especially in good weather) are fantastic! And about that exacerbated mist on the horizon contrast im not too fussed about...where i live its usually like that in the morning
theavonlady 2 Posted January 25, 2004 Txs llauma, these skyes (especially in good weather) are fantastic! I'll just add I think the clouds and overcast weather are great, too.
mr burns 132 Posted January 25, 2004 only thing need to be changed is the water it looks terrible in OPF tried ebud´s water retexture yet ? it´s comes with his Seb Ilo Ilo 1.7 island. looks a bit muddy...but gives a fresh breeze to ofp anyway ;) wilcos water is also very nice, it looks more carribean (fits perfect to sarugao). - these skys are indeed very nice, i´m glad to have ´em but i noticed a big part where the seam doesn´t fit, -very bad weather and looking straight up into the sky with camera.sqs- but, as looking into that direction during combat is very noobish and could shorten your virtual life easily, i wouldn´t consider it as an annoying bug. theavonlady 2 Posted January 25, 2004 Argh! I wonder if Blackdog's old retextured water mod works with this new Sky Pack! Blackdog? Come in there, ol' buddy. Time to schedule an OFP seance.
llauma 0 Posted January 25, 2004 These skies are the first version and they are done with my own judgement so more peoples oppinion would be great.. I know they're not flawless but I will fix those things as best as I can in the next version which will propably be out in a week or so. The install.bat only works for win 2k and win xp so Norsu made a new install.bat for the addon which will work with win98 and win ME. It will be included with the next version. Many thanx to him So all ideas of how to make this addon better are welcome.
drow 0 Posted January 25, 2004 Looks pretty cool. *as Drow scuttles away to slave over The Unsung sky addon even more* MUHAHAHAHA!
r71 0 Posted January 25, 2004 Oh Yeah! I like this sky addon, just need to make that fog line smaller
llauma 0 Posted January 25, 2004 Oh Yeah! Â I like this sky addon, just need to make that fog line smaller I agree.. I wanted to make the sky as big as I could but the contrast between the fog line and the sky got too obvious. A change will result in a smaller actual sky but I will try to make better balanced textures.
Grizzlie 0 Posted January 25, 2004 It is possible to have "clear" sky? (no clouds at all) I just tried this addon - very nice one, but i aggree that fog line is too thick.
drow 0 Posted January 26, 2004 yes, make the weather scale thing in the editor, all the way to the right (good weather) that way it will blend nearly 100% to the default blue gradient texture done by BIS, if that make s any sence.... its very simple tho. EDIT as you drag it to the right, the weather textures get faded to the plain clear sky texture underneith... hoope you understand.
munger 25 Posted January 26, 2004 This is a very nice sky pack. I prefer it over Kegetys' because the textures are more subtle and it seems more realistic. Keg's was nice, but it looked a little bit like a watercolour painting and didn't fit in with OFP's textures as well as this one does. Also, the 'blobby' effect you get with paa/pac textures isn't so apparent in this pack. I agree that the horizon transition line stands out a bit, and Keg's was better in this regard, but it's easily overlooked. Very nice work Llauma. Just to go OT for a sec - I used Keg's installer for the new skies and whilst I was at it I thought I'd try to replace the default NVG's with Inq's ones. So I put his textures and the two p3d files in newdata along with the new sky files and ran the installer, but when I the ran the game the new NVG textures had been applied to the old BIS NVG model (and it looked freaky ). So I was basically just wondering if anyone managed to get Inq's NVG's to install properly with Keg's installer? If not, I will just unPBO/makePBO the two Res data3d files manually which is no problem but is just a bit of a ball acher as it takes so long to repack them. Thanx alot I am currently working on new textures which will blend in better with the fog line. I have done some testing and they look great. Then there is the "blobby" effect that you just can't get rid of, but I am working on a few modifications that will hopefully minimize them. But I have to admit this paa/pac converting is driving me crazy. I hate tex view. Hit_Sqd_Maximus: Sure, you can edit everything you see.

Though i told him how to do it -the same way you did- i wasn´t able to get it workin myself...have freaky textures on BIS NVG too...but a nice new green vision for 1st person view regarding some more replacements...you might watch for the ofp deluxe thread in A&M:D
munger 25 Posted January 26, 2004 Hmm. I'll try doing it manually with unPBO/makePBO then. Cheers Mr Burns. Ace, how did you manage it using Keg's installer?
r1c0cH3T 0 Posted January 26, 2004 Can you just give us the edited files? I have a water MOD installed and I don't have enough space to add another DATA.PBO. I rather depbo my current DATA.PBO and replace the files.
ebud 18 Posted January 26, 2004 More of the same comments, but I have to post once in a while. This sky mod is really really nice. Not sure what was done, or how, but the sky in OFP now really looks and feels like a clear summers day. I kept looking up in game, and it just feels right. Nice and subtle, very tastefully done. Thanks for doing this.
Dwarden 1125 Posted January 26, 2004 i solved most of my problems ... i simple dont use .pbo files at all, just for config files ... {stares at his SCSI harddrive}
BlueFlight 0 Posted January 27, 2004 Hi llauma! Thx for this great sky Do you think you could implement something like this? I mean the clouds under the planes. In OFP you only see this white or grey under you if you are in a big height. But it´s perhaps something with the engine.
MEDICUS 0 Posted January 27, 2004 I mean the clouds under the planes. In OFP you only see this white or grey under you if you are in a big height. I think, if you want to have clouds "under" a plain/chopper you would have to create a own addon for this. Afaik that has nothing to do with the "Sky" itself. Should be something like a flying object (Smoke?). But i also think, that this won't be too good for "lag-reducing" Â
benu 1 Posted January 27, 2004 Didn't the cloud script from axe do something like this?
Dwarden 1125 Posted January 27, 2004 ya, i think there were 1 or 2 addons which added clouds as objects with own scripts and there were chance to setup altitude etc ... but they were not well optimized for perfomance ... i wish to see new findings at script front to result into such low altitude scripted clouds to become part e.g. of ECP ... but this need scripter who want do it ... llauma 0 Posted January 27, 2004 Hi llauma!Thx for this great sky  Do you think you could implement something like this? img]http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/f-14_32.jpg[/img] I mean the clouds under the planes. In OFP you only see this white or grey under you if you are in a big height. But it´s perhaps something with the engine. I can't do anything about that.. Everything at the level of the plane or below will be fog... It would be alot of work to make something like the pic. Maybe that could be done by making one-sided layers that would be visible only from above.. But I guess it would look pretty stupid when you fly through the layer. One more problem would be to get the right textures for the right typ of weather. If anyone is stupid enough to try to accomplish this effect I would gladly support him with textures
quicksand 0 Posted January 28, 2004 Just seen the pictures in the OF Combat photography threat. And I must say your texture work is outstanding! If you`re taking requests, could you modify the water to go with your sky I think that would please everyone as new water texture is wanted by many

Haven't tried installing it yet because it was developed to install along with Kegetys' HiSky addon and I don't know if it's compatible with Llauma's.
