First imported model from pc halo

Btw wouldn't it be nice if you can only enter the pilot seat of the Longsword by walking into the craft and next to the seat, then get the action? Is that possible? ghostface.gif

I'm pretty sure that is all deteremined by where you place the markers for entering the vehicle. So i would think if you placed them inside the vehicle then you should be able to do that. You would probably be able to get in the front of the plane as well just because it creates a certain area (not sure how big) that the player can enter, but it would still be fairly accurate and if you cared that much about it you could just be sure to enter the correct way every time :-)

There is no Pillar of Autumn static object, that is the level geometry, which is much different from the vehicle/weapon/character geometry, so it is not worth the effort to extract it. The longsword cockpit entrance thing would work, but the AI wouldn't work with it. LOL maybe if I put cortana into the game she could teach the ofp AI a few things smile_o.gif As for the pelican, it now has an open cockpit, so looking through the front window you can see out the back cargo bay. It still needs some work, but it looks pretty cool. I used a 3 chair setup like in the E3 demo.

a crashed pillar of autumn isn't possible, because the way of level designing is diffrent, they just used the pillar , and kinda rotated it and put it in the sand so it would look crashed...

nice about the fighters though, never really got to meet them ingame... sad_o.gif

I really want this mod too and I#m checking back to this thread every time I am online, but still ... hold it. adn wait.

A little scripting update. I've been scripting my brains out lately, with some pretty cool results. Do you ever get pissed off at the vehicle physics in OFP? You go flying through the air in your jeep and hit the ground with not even a sound or reduction in speed. How about driving off a cliff only to land like a 10lb marshmellow? Well I do, so I've added a few features to the warthog. If the hog does a jump thats over 3 meters in height, when it hit the ground it makes a cool 'ptuff' sound, and dirt and rocks fly up from the tires. If the jump is over 7 meters in height, when the hog hits the ground there is a bigger, more metallic sound, and dirt, rocks and a few sparks fly up from the wheels and suspension. The hog itself also leaves a big scrape mark on the ground where it landed. The hog's speed is seriously reduced, but not enough to stop it completely. Now if you are going crazy and do a jump thats about 40 meters high, there is no way any car, passenger OR cyborg is going to survive that, so the hog explodes on impact. 40 m is about the height of the church cliff on Nogova. One other note is that the height of the jump is determined by the hog's altitude when it is at the highest point of its jump. Anyways, on too the pelican. I scrapped the idea of using the turret to control the wings, because it required an empty weapon in the config and the AI didn't use it unless they targeted something, so basically it just didn't look or work good. So, i used a scripting alternative that kicks ass. I now have 4 animated engines working, and they actually move based on the pelican's bank angle, so they work and look just like they do in Halo. However, this is a fair bit of scripting, and due to the actual script limitation, I made it so only the pelican that the player is in runs the script. However, if the player isn't in the pelican and you still want it to run the scripts, there is a simple command you can put in the init line to make a AI unit run the script, but you will still be limited to one pelican using it. Anyways, flying the pelican is really cool because it looks like it 'twists' into the direction you are going.

I third that request for a video. If your hardware can run it, can you have the pelican fly low over the ocean while running DXDLL?

LOL its agreed that a Pelican video is a must smile_o.gif I'll start making the cinematic now, and I'll release it when I get the cockpit finished. As for DXDLL, sorry my comp is a little 650 mhz with a 32mb tnt2 card, so it doesn't work 'for some unknown reason' lol tounge_o.gif

Oh and by the way...

Every time someone kills a kitten because my mod isn't released, I WILL KILL A HELPLESS CYBORG!!!

As far as i'm concerned, it's an empty suit of armor or a plastic decoy

Besides, everyone knows that John-117, Kelly-087, Fred-104, Will-043, and Linda-058 are the last surviving SPARTANS and their all safely tucked away in Slipspace until Halo 2.

That Halo library site sure comes in handy... tounge_o.gif

sounds more like a 1950's tv family instead of a bunch of genetically enhanced ass kicking cyborgs. Anyways, Cribban from the Desert War 1942 mod has joined up as über animator, and he is also going to help me with the sounds. He has lots of great ideas and plenty of animation experience, so its safe to say this mod has just been taken up a peg.
