Russian radio profiles

Are any Russian language radio profiles in the works for OFP? BIS said they were hoping to implement it into OFP during the development but concluded that Russian is too hard to implement due to grammatical reasons or something like that. (That´s the official version, anyway.)

Now, a Russian voice pack would be very nice as a "standard" upgrade. IIRC, Antichrist once said (way back in 2002) that the Retaliation campaign had 6 voices recorded already. Don´t know what happened to that, so are there any mods planning to make a pack like this? RHS, Caucasus Crisis...?

FDF mod already did a Finnish pack with...was it 30 radio profiles for their mod? ( ) There are a few (very few) grammatical errors due to the difference in English language structure and Finnish, but that´s just if you want to nitpick. A Russian pack would add a huge amount of atmosphere to Russian missions, IMO new character anims and this pack are the most important addons that should be made for OFP.

If I remember correctly, FDFMOD has 14 new voice profiles.

Anyway, a great idea. Creating voice profiles is not that difficult, and I'm sure there are plenty of Russians in the community, someone just has to organize them.

*cough Redhammer *cough* And Russian "accented" voices wouldn't do it for me at all. A modification or a duplication (code wise) of the RUSvoice to add real russian voices instead of sad accents.

I also agree with gollum. This is another thing long overdue, that i'd personally love to see. IMHO the animations are even more urgent, but this would be good to get ASAP too. I think that ofp has gathered such a large fan pool with knowledge how to mod the game that i think now we could with proper effort permanently make ofp a better game.

I agree about the anims. You can high poly and high res OFP no problems, but the animations are always going to make OFP look like a turd (or like the AI is taking one at the least! )...

New higher poly character models and animations would make this a 'born again' game! There would be no limits to what it could be made to look like...

I wonder if any could be 'imported' in from another game?, as opposed to making them all from scratch...

I agree that´s something I always wanted!

Top priority for me is Russian language. Russian units where in the Game ever since!

With all the new addons  more languages would be nice too. There are new quality units from all over the world now. It´s just up to motivated mod-teams from these countrys to make some quality language files. I´m sure FDF-mod team could help out like they did a very good job with the Finnish sounds.

Well actually I tried implementing my own voice into the game but... failed misarebly

I am Russian and speak it fluently yet I cant figure out the technical details of how to actually get the voice in the game.

I looked at FDF mod, and just replaced one of their voices with my substitutes but that doesnt work... I guess you need some technical mumbo jumbo to make it sound decent.

By the way, Russian wouldnt be that hard to implement because of grammar.

Wow, I didn´t know there was such a pack. There must be a few voice sets in there, but they´re all very quiet (you can´t hear them in combat) and they sound REALLY sleeeepy. Not the kind of quality that you´d want, I´d rather stick with the accented ones.

The one with redhammer can go to the ofp folder/users/yourname/

Open the userinfo file with wordpad or something then scroll fully down and search for a entry named speaker

there you can add one of those:

Aleksei

Andrei

Boris

Georgiy

Ivan

Nikolai

Oleg

Ruslan

Sergey

Vadim

Vitaliy

Vladimir

And get some russian accent voice, if you change the pitching of the voice or something you must change the name again in the userinfo file
