The Frenchman 0 Posted October 21, 2003 I was in school today and we were watching a movie on Mesopotamia. It was odd since in the hall I heard a guy with a walkman playing a song played by Seventh and the videos name was Return to Eden.(The OFP mission where you invade Everon the 2nd time in CWC)

Jamesia 0 Posted October 24, 2003 HAHAHA ofp got me into a spot of trouble today..... because, you see, I am a time lord, so I travelled to gallifray, home of the time lords. But unfortunately they are all dying of a terrible disease up there. They begged me to come back to earth and get some grass, as it was the only thing that could cure them. So of course I acepted...... however, when I got back to england I got playing ofp.  unfortunately i forgot about the poor population of gallifray and errrm..... well, I went back up there and they were errr.... all dead  EDIT [Gareth Gates must die]
the_unknown_one 0 Posted October 24, 2003 did'nt Shadow tell you not to spam Jamesia? A freind of mine who has OFP GOTY (same as me) are always walking rounds school doing things like "all, move to Science block" and there's a poster of these children sitting on the burnt out hsk of a tank. I notcie it was a BMP, and we both said "all, attack, BMP!" much to the confusion of all the people in the room. the funniest one was when there was a marquee set up for this dance they have for the leavers every year, and he hadnt noticed it yet. he said "unknown, tent, 200. TENT? i didnt know tht was there!" the_unknown_one P.S. luckily i havent got in any trouble 'cos of OFP tho... yet

KimTuomi 0 Posted October 27, 2003 I never got into any trouble literally, but recently I was in a kind of funny and embarrasing situation when talking on a mobile phone with my friend. I was at work, during lunch hour or so and walked through the main lobby (where security personnel etc are in) talking about mortar strikes and planning an air strike in a predefined location. So there I was minding my own business but didn't realize that people can hear what I was talking and now in the era of great terrorism fear I noticed I got some interesting and confused looks from other people. I immediately figured out why that happened, went outside, light a cigarette and laughed in the phone as I told my friend what just happened. We were planning a multiplayer session just then. theavonlady 2 Posted October 27, 2003 Apparently 'I' for one wouldnt wanna be trying it on any foreign airport would earn me a life sentence at guantanamo probably. Wouldn't be so bad for you. I hear that recently there's an opening there for an interpretor.
Acecombat 0 Posted October 31, 2003 Well now that i seriously think of what OFP has changed with-in me then its gotta be my thinking on real-combat and if i were a soldier i'd probably be dead by now since OFP sometimes gets that machismo factor too much through your brain , i hope soldiers who play this game dont react in such ways in real battles because theres no [shift] [-] "savegame" there , if you go down you ar dead . When i see on CNN reports of Iraq and stuff i immediately start thinking wtf are they doing waiting behind the road side , go in and assault those republican guards , (all attack target) , even though it might be possible but in RL its very stupid , but in OFP its doable

sv5000 127 Posted November 2, 2003 Back in the early days, I used to d/l all the mods at work, they had a ISDN connection , burn them using company time and resources and take em home. ( i only had a 56k d/u) Then one day, I came into to work and a sys admin was waiting for me ...... Surfice to say I pleaded with him not to take my access rights away and explained my addiction to ofp was real and he sadi he wouldnt tell my boss and that becasue he was a gamer and used the compeny connection for the same thing he just told me to do it after 6pm It was close As far as girlie problems. I am always getting.. "1, where are you?"
KaRRiLLioN 0 Posted November 2, 2003 Hmm, yes my wife and I have had numerous fights about what she considers to be my obsession of playing OFP. Really, though, I probably spend more time scripting than I do playing. On my dedicated server, we all use Teamspeak. There are a lot of regulars and we've gotten to know each other pretty well. My wife calls them my VFF's, Virtual F*cking Friends. OFP already took up a lot of time, but once I finished RTS-1 back in 2001, then the MP missions got considerably longer, so I started staying up later, 2am or so. Luckily I have a good job (I'm the IT director) so I can sort of stroll in whenever. I suppose that I'll have to figure out how to make these RTS games a tad shorter.... My regular email is now constantly full of virus emails because so many ppl have that email address, and obviously many of them don't have a virus scanner. Some of that is from my former mod work with Action Quake 2, Action Half-Life, and Counter-strike. I guess it's time to use a new address since nobody can get thru to me at that one anymore. Also, someone keeps impersonating me on Gamespy Arcade, which I haven't even used for years, but I keep getting these mystery emails from ppl who are wanting in on the RTS-4 beta, which I've never even mentioned. So, OFP has gotten me into a bit of trouble, and of course has affected my daily life quite a bit. I still keep myself on a schedule, and don't start playing until 9pm or so, which is after I've taken my Russian lessons from my wife and played cards with her. That sometimes keeps her from getting ticked that I'm "indisposed" for the rest of the evening.
Powerslide 0 Posted November 3, 2003 Ya OFP has got me in trouble, when I was making the new Canadian troops my back got sore, I couldn't even walk. Also sitting around the computer modding stuff has made me 30 lbs overweight, and I have high blood pressure too. Curses to this......
Tamme 0 Posted November 26, 2003 You people have problems I don't always play OFP that much, but when I do I start thinking weird about stuff. I have a sudden urge to advance through that forest, run on top of that hill and get in to position. (or something else like that) I might start thinking like: "Where are my binoculars?"-"Goddamnit, I play OFP too much" My thoughts drift off easily. Always throwing grenades in my mind. I've never said anything stupid or hitted the dirt, I come to my senses before I do it. Thank god I don't play OFP so intensively all the time. I'd be a weard kid that's for sure. Right now I should be doing my homework, but instead I'm browsing the forums. And the typical: "I have time to play OFP for a while. I'll read for the exams later" "I'll just play around in the editor a little or play a mission or two"
ebud 18 Posted November 26, 2003 I wouldn't say it's gotten me into trouble as much as it's become a very weird part of my life for the last 2 years. Sad but true. Literally every day from about 10 or so after my fiance has went to bed, the work begins on addons til usually 2-3 am. Lots and lots of lost sleep and wasted time. Every day. Then I have to factor in all the lost quality time with my dog, and old college friends, etc, and this game has really become sort of a lifestyle change. I usually spend more time talking to people I've met via OFP than I do to my old friends nowadays since they're usually working on addons as well while I'm working.
