Major Fubar 0 Posted September 3, 2003 Posting smilies without any text is very close to spamming. If you wish to express your fondness of the addon, feel free, but just not in this manner. Thanks.
Migebuff 0 Posted September 3, 2003 I think i found a bug: The "Wasserkraftstoff" thing explodes after it is destroyed. But afaik Water doesnt burn
waffendennis 0 Posted September 3, 2003 It's not water and if i am not wrong it's a Fuel type so that burns like he11
Migebuff 0 Posted September 3, 2003 "Wasser" is printed on the side of it, and "Wasser" means "Water". I dont think its fuel, why should they mix fuel and water? Edit: found a link: http://www.kettenkrad.de/kanistere.htm Another Edit: Just seen the link in your readme
reedkiller 0 Posted September 3, 2003 I want a test mission! Some thing like: Intro: Camera zooms in on a can Mission starts You see a can Mission ends Outro: camera goes round a can I cant wait for the next version. I hope they include the late war cans in the darker green texture (1944-1962). They could also improve the can model. Has anyone thought about doing a British, Russian and American can pack? would it be possible to have a damage system for the can that is like the tanks? (i.e. if you hit a thin part of the can it will do more damage) Apart from all that this is a great add-on! The creator has done for the WW2 OFP community what BIS did for the modern warfare OFP community! Thankyou
D.murphy man 0 Posted September 3, 2003 Why dont some one make an intire WW2 object pack? It could include cans of all types, helmets, rubble, blowen up building, burnt out cars, sand bags,fortifactions,bodies,limbs,ect....

waffendennis 0 Posted September 3, 2003 and thats the power of the hindenburg zappelin....Boom
Uziyahu--IDF 0 Posted September 4, 2003 Actually, they are saying that it was the paint or film on the skin of the Hindenburg that burned up like dry leaves. Â You can actually see this taking place in the film footage. Oh, and we were still using these Jerry Cans for water and JP4 (avgas?) in the Army in Alaska from '86 to '89. Fill two of those with water and then walk them 300 meters and your arms will feel like they've been stretched like Plastic-Man.
Nathanz 0 Posted September 4, 2003 im sure the hydrogen helped.
kegetys 2 Posted September 4, 2003 im sure the hydrogen helped. Hydrogen burns with an invisible flame, so all you see burning in that picture is the craft itself. ;) The whole disaster even started from the paint being ignited by static electricity, not the hydrogen. Major Fubar 0 Posted September 4, 2003 Haven't had a chance to download this yet...so here's my question: Are the cans portable: are they configged or scripted so your soldier can ppick them up and carry them?
philcommando 0 Posted September 4, 2003 This is a rather innovative addon, simple and effective. Thanks to the addon maker, fortunately not making another M16 or AH sets. Some countries do use these metal cans to hold fuel for their field generators or vehicles. In real spec ops mission conducted usually in the rear areas of the enemies, eg, base camps, etc, these areas are not just only buildings and people. Being spec ops, u would be rather limited in weaponary. Therefore should the spec ops be discovered, they do not have 'die in a blaze of glory' in their vocabulary and battle it out with the enemies with their limited bullets. Rather, they will lead their enemies into the area where it contains the most combustible elements, to create fire as enemies would worry about the growing fire than the spec ops, leaving the spec ops with the option to continue their mission or leave to fight another day. good job! BoonieRat 0 Posted September 4, 2003 Kudos for a decent ambience model. I think there are just not enough non usable models/ crash models /ect available for OFP. I'd personaly like to see some 'fallen down' tree's for the forrest areas, as well as abandoned camp equiptment like helmets, biviewacs(sp?), cooking pots and cooking fire... O/T Quote[/b] ]the paint being ignited by static electricity, not the hydrogen I thought only gases could be ignited by electrical sparks. I doubt dried paint started it, but being oilbased as it was in them days, it would of gone up like a bonfire...It was friction for sure though. From what I've read, the hydrogen was in individual 'sacks' that rolled and rubbed ( ) over each other (as each changed temp and migrated towards the top/bottom?)inside an aluminium framework... reedkiller 0 Posted September 4, 2003 sorry for going off-topic, but Kegetys is quite right. As the air ship passes through the air (as air ships often do) allot of static builds up. When the ships docked a contact is dropped to the ground and the static is dispersed. In the hindemburgs case part of the ship was not connected to the wire that was dropped down. Over a few flights the static got dangerously high when the wire was dropped down the difference in static between the isolated section and the rest of the ship was sufficiently high to cause a spark. This ignited the highly flammable paint and canvas witch burnt with surprising speed. Even without the gas the ship would have burnt to the ground.
