I love the JU-25, it totally kicks ass smile_o.gif And with those pilots (the ones used by the Kolibri) it is even better. I just did a little SAR mission using this aircraft, the kolibri and the I44 platoon commander. Very nice work wink_o.gif

Although I have some input on the Sherman, it is nice and all. But the interior needs much more work, although it is very nice it could use a better modeled interior.

I only downloaded the sherman at this point...It could use some more detailing IMO...needs rust , dirt etc as its way too clean. And maybe the star sharpened some?

German pack aint that huge. I got so excited when I saw this that I read dl size to be like 63megs.  crazy_o.gif

In updates I would like to see Type92 HMG otherwise known as the "woodpecker" and soldier with camonetting and maybe some leafs on the helmet.

Also missing textures should be fixed.

But overall a very good pack that havent been done before.

rock.gif?    I guess then you didn't see the scout soldiers.  Look at any of them in the map editor.  They DO have leaves in their helmets.

Now if only we had a good American addon to go with this that had a nice range of soldiers (including American soldiers in cold weather gear for Battle of the Bulge missions).

So far the Airborne troops from the Invasion1944 Mod are in my opinion the best opponents for this addon.

As for the Sherman and that German tank they have in here, I think the WWIIEC mod team's Sherman and German tanks are a bit nicer because they allow the tanks to carry infantry on the back of them.  Although the textures on the "Stug" look very very nice...

Oh also both the Sherman and the Stug seem buggy in that they don't want to follow waypoints sometimes.   Like for example when I used them they didn't respond to a guard waypoint.   Also when I had two waypoints on the Stug, the Stug would always stop at the first waypoint and not move unless I blew something up next to it and then it would continue on to the next waypoint.  I'm not sure what's up with that.

The Junkers however both rock!!! They are by far THE BEST WWII aircraft addons I've seen so far in OFP.

The jump script in the mission is also very cool, but the script needs work as it doesn't un-assign the soldiers from the plane and the leader is always ordering them back in. I'm working on fixing that script right now and actually that entire mission in order to use it as a "template" mission for future airborne missions.

Finally the soldier addons are kick ass. BUT.... the Japanese soldiers have NO JAPANESE FACES!!!!!!!! aaaaaaaaaaaaaarg!!!

Has anyone here tried to find Asian faces for OFP?rock.gif It is damn near impossible unless you stick another mod pack (like the BOH mod) into the same folder as these addons.

I found only ONE asian face pack on all the OFP web sites and it DIDN"T WORK!!!!!!!!! AAAAARG!!! It is so unbelievably frustrating having Japanese troops and not being able to use them because there are not faces that I can stick on them.

They should NOT have released those Japanese troops without at the very least a face pack that the mission editor can addon onto the soldiers themselves. However it is preferable to have the faces hardcoded on the Japanese troops.

Anyways, aside from those problems, these addons kick major ass!!!!!

How about some help in the reference manual for handheld weapons (bazooka, Pzfaust etc) for the Universal Armour Code

Just a quick question: Is the german pack worth the download if I already have the quite large I44 demo? Are the German units in a separate "category" than the regular east soldiers?

Yes they are in a seperate category and yes they are EXCELLENT!!! They go very well with the Invasion1944 pack in my opinion and have units not found in the1944 pack. They also have new custom sounds and yells when they get hit.

Oh,ok.  Yeah I agree that would be very nice to have the Japanese soldiers with more camoflage on them.  I've seen pictures where they tied vegitation to their arms, legs, body, and helmet during WWII.  Those guys were probably some of the toughest soldiers during WWII.

Speaking of Japanese soldiers, I would love to see an American infantry addon featuring the Japanese-American "Nisei" soldiers of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and 100th Infantry Battalion.  These volunteer units were made up of Japanese Americans who's families were in many cases in internment camps in the US.  They faught in various Western fronts and were regarded as elite soldiers due to the many high-risk missions they performed successfully.  They were also the most highly decorated units during WWII.

You need the wermacht pack to get the jap pack to work.

Great planes but are the bullets ment to be so RED!

Yes.  In real life red tracer bullets are VERY bright!  So I have no problem with the lovely red tracer rounds.

I just wish that they gave the machine guns a little bit higher dispersal.

Below is a pick of a C-47/DC-3 "spooky" gunship firing its 7.62mm miniguns. These were the only pictures of red tracer fire I could find on the net, but trust me, when they are going over your head they are VERY bright and are usually red, yellow, or green.

Actually Miles.... If you look at the small read me in the installation screen it will tell you there is one japanese face on there..so all is not lost

it says to use the script

<this setface japface1>

and it should give you a recognizable japanese person biggrin_o.gif

Ah I didn't see that during the installation.  However I did find that face on my own by looking at the .cpp settings in the .pbo file using WordPad...  I just hadn't gotten around to posting it.

But thanks anyways for the info as I'm sure others were wondering the same thing.

It still really needs more faces so it doesn't feel like "attack of the clones" but still that one face is better then having all the Japanese troops look like Russians.

What would be really cool is if the maker of the Japanese infantry addon pack got together with the people from the BOH mod team in order to develop some voices for both the modern JSDF soldiers and for the WWII Japanese troops. The BOH guys are really nice from what I've seen of their posts on this forum so hopefully they might read this and maybe get in contact with Gavin or with the Allies in Arms mod team (or WWIIVets).

Yep it was a very small print and ussually i never read those installation guide things since they do everything on their own.

It's a good idea there, after all the Japanese pack is a beta.

If its going to be anything like the Germans, then I'm sure there will be tons of Japanese soldiers running around everywhere! biggrin_o.gif
