Trenchfeet 0 Posted June 29, 2003 Miles Teg yeh you're right about the American-Japanese soldiers they did fight in some of the harshest battles. Another story can be said of the Tuskagee Airman who were African-American. (they had the destinctive red tail on their Mustangs and Thunderbolts) Did you know they never lost a single bomber (b-17+others) to enemy action, over europe? Can't wait to try the german pack i'm 50% dl so far
Bullz_eye_on_my_back 0 Posted June 29, 2003 Yep I'm there with ya trenchfeet....the movie about the story was good too! I was totally suprised that they didn't loose a single bomber...especially as slow and big as those suckers were... truly a remarkable accomplishment! punishment 1 Posted June 29, 2003 I thought the MG 42 had yellow tracers is that not true?
Eviscerator 0 Posted June 29, 2003 They should NOT have released those Japanese troops without at the very least a face pack that the mission editor can addon onto the soldiers themselves. Â However it is preferable to have the faces hardcoded on the Japanese troops. Thought about getting the Vietnamese faces out of the Nam pack PBO and using those? They may not be exactly Japanese, but unless someone actually lives in Asia i dont think people are going to notice the difference.

Yeah I thought about that, but unfortunately I have no idea which .pbo file in the NAM pack contains the faces and I don't want to stick the whole SEB NAM2 mod with my WWII addons. There is an old Asian facepack out there that I wish someone would fix as it doesn't seem to work with version 1.91. If anyone knows how to make face packs in .pbo format, I go find the link to that Asian face pack if they think they can fix it. It would be a godsend as the ROC mod is also missing good Asian faces. Any volunteers? Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
PFC_Mike 2 Posted June 29, 2003 it is so stupid that the Japanese pack requires the German one and doesn't include coded faces. Sorry guys but you really screwed up on this part. BTW I am only talking about the Japanese pack the Wehrmact one is nice I'm sure.
CanadianTerror 0 Posted June 29, 2003 Well the modern Japanese mod(BOH) has around 14 or so faces in it. Wouldnt it be possible to just PBO em up and there you have a japanese face pack for the ww2 troops? Or is that too simple a solution?

Klesk AIA 0 Posted July 15, 2003 Thanks for your comments, we are planning on another release very soon Some more planes with lots of scripts are winging their way through. I will try and answer some of the issues that we raised during this discusion: Japanese faces - we will put faces in the proper release of the soldiers. Jap pack requiring Werchmat pack@ PFC_Mike - we didnt have to release the soldiers. We released them so that people could have more fun.
The Frenchman 0 Posted July 15, 2003 So far the Airborne troops from the Invasion1944 Mod are in my opinion the best opponents for this addon. But the I44 units look weird in the pacific. I just take Sebnam US units and give them WW2 weapons.
miles teg 1 Posted July 15, 2003 So far the Airborne troops from the Invasion1944 Mod are in my opinion the best opponents for this addon. But the I44 units look weird in the pacific. I just take Sebnam  US units and give them WW2 weapons. If you read my post, you'd notice that the first half of the post in which I made that statement was concerning the German WWIIVets/AIA addons.   Of coarse the 101st look wierd in the Pacific cuz.  As for using the SEB NAM troops, not all of us have TONS of RAM needed to mix all the WWII addons AND the SEB Nam pack together, unless of coarse you happen to know which .pbo file in the NAM pack has the US troops in it and whether or not it requires any of the other .pbo files.  When I have more time I might try figuring that out.  But I wish the old SEB team members would simply release a WWII USMC version of their Nam soldiers since as you said, they wore very similar uniforms (minus the flack vests used by some of the Nam troops). Edit- I just experimented with the SEB NAM pack addons and I found that you need 3 .pbo files from that pack because their textures and models are scattered all over. You need: sebnam_a.pbo sebnam_us.pbo & sebnam_wp.pbo Then of coarse you have to manually edit them in the map editor to remove their weapons and stick in WWII weapons from whatever other WWII soldier or weapons pack that you like. The regular Army soldier in the NAM pack looks the most like a WWII US Marine, however there is a problem. On his uniform you can still read part of the US ARMY patch on his chest. This bugs me a lot even though it's a little thing. Also some of the Marines in WWII had camoflage uniforms as well. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
