I like your choppers, but i have a real problem with your "Arms" and "Infantry" addonpacks!

Every time i put them all together in the addon folder... my PC crashes! (happend 3 times when i tried it) BUT when i just put the Chopper pack in it works fine...

This is really pissing me off because i like the famas very much!

Does someone experiance the same problem?

I love the Choppers, exellent work on them and great quality!

You better head over to DKM's Webpage and DL their Addonmanager (OFPAM), which you can use to activate or deactivate addons, instead of deleting them.

@OFrP: DLing the packs now. Looking forward to trying them out

the chopper ARE realistic, because in the real life they haven't got any armored part on the cockpit exept the seat, if you heat the canopy with your fist you'll brake it. We prefer make realistic gazelle than a super kiowa with heavy armor and which need a big number of bullet to be shot down.

Fair enough, however the AI machine gunners are a little too accurate in OFP as well. But it's ok I think if the Operation Frenchpoint mod team decides not to put armor on the windows... it just means that I'll have to use "pop-up" tactics with the Gazelle by hiding behind hills and trees and then "popping-up" to fire at the enemy before quickly taking cover again. However unfortunately the AI pilots DO NOT do that and they get killed quickly. That is one reason for making the windows (at least the front window section) armored. It just makes things a little more fair because the East side HIP helicopters and the new Mi-2 addon are both more difficult to bring down with machine guns.

At the same time however I think that the overall armor levels are fine on these choppers.

So hopefully the mod team will make the best choice between realism and playability.

Oh by the way... I found a bug. On the HOT Gazelle gunship, there is a LOD bug where the entire helicopter disappears except for a small dot after about 100 meters in distance. The other Gazelles are fine however. smile_o.gif

Right now I'm having a blast with that rappel script on the Puma with the hoists. WOW! You even hear the sound of the soldier's gloves on the rope and "thump" sound when they hit the ground. It's beautiful! I love it! Right now the French troops are trying to evacuate civilans out of Petrovice but Bibmi's African milita forces (the rebels) keep blowing up my convoys trying to get through with Patria APC's (simulating VABs) and civilian buses to carry the Westerners trying to escape the war-torn African island of Nogova. smile_o.gif

I guess getting them out by air will be the only safe way until I get some support from French Le Clerc heavy tanks or the Nogova government soldiers send some old T-55's to help cover the convoys but those lazy bastards are to busy chewing khat inside their tanks and getting drunk.

Can you tell I'm really getting into this mission and these addons? smile_o.gif

I have a question (not sure if it's a bug or not): the SA-330 Puma Pirate (with that awesome door cannon) won't enage a BMP, but will attack an SA-13 (Maac & Marfy addon).

My question: is this due to armor level, the SA-13 addon, or something else? I'd like for this chopper to engage APCs with it's cannon when manned by AI...

Only a shame that the OFrp Team didn't make more missions to test, I've had enough of the editor this weekend and want to play for a while .... for this amount of quality addons I'm surprised there aren't more missions.

How are any user made ones coming along? Miles?

i've been waiting soooooooooooooo long for this air pack! thank you guys, you really did it! the puma is beautiful, the gazelle's excellent... i love the air pack, i love the famas, i love you ofrp!

petite question, je sais je vais paraitre relou, mais quand j'ai tiré avec un eryx ou autre, je réutilise le famas, jusque la c normal, mais la ou ce devient bizarre, c'est quand je passe en vue "viseur" du famas et (sans changer de vue) que je change d'arme je repasse sur l'eryx, je suis en vue "viseur" de l'eryx pointé vers le ciel (etant donné que l'eryx est sur le dos!)

putain meme en francais c'est pas compréhensible ce que j'ecris! LOL!

Just some small "bugs"

- If you script to perform rappel, it only work with one chopper, you cant have multiple choppers rapelling at the same time with this script.

- The Gazelle with cannon don´t engage properly, it takes ages to the chopper to shoot at some cars or at a mg.

For the rappel it's not true. You can have many rappel at the same time.

Do you do this ? :

im working on a mission where a squad (you) fast ropes into lipany for some CQB action,, you then have to rescue the hostage and call for exfil, it will need AKM74's BMD pack and i will start a server up later today, if u r interested send me a pm

YEs sir... one is coming along although I only started it yesterday. It uses Bibmi's African militia, Addamo's C130 addon, and the Patria APC (made by the DKM Mod team) as the only other addons so far. It is to simulate the the extraction of foreigners from the Ivory Coast by French troops and U.S. special operations (played by Black Ops units). Right now the mission ends to

quickly because the goal is to extract civilians from Petrovice, get them to the West Nogova airport and get on the plane with them. Once that occurs the mission is complete.

I think what I will do is delay the rescue convoy until the Petrovice is more or less secure. I'm making waves of African rebels attack Petrovice from different directions. Your allies (more or less) will be the Nogova government troops played by the African government troops in Bibmi's African militia addon. So you must hold tight and protect the civilians until the convoy arrives.

at this moment we have tow missions for three packs... I know it's demo missions, but I think they're good.

Some mission makers are working now to offer some other missions.

I think it doesn't engage for the reason you said, but I'm not a specialist. I will ask the puma-maker. It's right that's if a human engage a bmp, he has all chance to make it down. smile_o.gif

Maybe an AI limitation.

Well i made a mission where you fast rope with another chalk into the airport and have to destroy the scud and hold the airport

Regading the Gazelle with the cannon not firing much, what you may want to do is add in some lateral movement, even if the actual gun cant do this, (this was done with the BAS littlebirds and the nam pack UH-1C gunship, although in real life that could move), it greatly increases the AI's ability to engage, as they wont have to line perfectly up, the only request i have is a proper Gazelle gunship, with 2 x 20mm cannons and a couple of FFAR tubes, something with a bit more firepower.

Do the custom grenades do anything?

I have tryed adding them to units but i cant seem to throw them.This is in SP by the way

Really nice addons, I especially like the Pumas.

And the Eryx is the coolest AT weapon in OFP!

Some bugs I found:

-The sounds of the Puma 20 mm cannon´s rounds exploding always sound like the explosion´s a couple of meters from you, it doesn´t fade out over distance.

-Sorry guys, but the FAMAS sounds terrible! I bet it´s a "real" recording taken by one normal mic. And another sound bug, the pistol is very quiet.

-The 20 mm cannon is pretty ugly and I bet those aren´t its real optics.

-For game balance reasons, I think you should add armor to the cockpit.

-Why are the French soldiers on the Resistance side? Besides the U.S, I think France is one of the most "West" armies.

For anyone who thinks the 20 mm gunner isn´t engaging targets, try the old trick: Place an empty chopper on the map and put the gunner and pilot in it in separate groups. Put the pilot on "careless" and "limited" and "flyinheight 30" and the gunner on 100% skill and he should engage just fine. This is just a temporary solution, though.

I finally menaged to dl those files.

WOW! Those addons are getting better and better all the time, and my EURO mod folder is growing dangerously fast.
