Multiple gunners

Its got to have multiple gun positions in tanks and stuff.

So u can have a heavy gunner, and a machine gunner in a M1, this way a tank isnt SO VULNERABLE to a silly troop with a law.

*EDIT Maybe the commmander could just have a mounted m2 or .50 cal instead of having a MACHINEGUNNER.

I agree, multiple gunner positions would be a very welcome addition. Not just for tanks though, but for all vehicles.

What I'd really like to see is the ability for modMakers to create their own custom classes of vehicles, as well, since that seems to be such a limiting factor in many addons right now. We should finally be able to get HMMWV's w/ TOWs, fully-crewed helicopters, and gunners in airplanes. All sorts of good stuff biggrin.gif

I do hope BIS has taken this need into strong consideration. I think it will have more than a little impact on how battles are fought.

1 thing i'd like to see is the ability to fire our own weapons if sitting in a vehicle near a window or a door but also to have some kind of option like "weapon on back" but when you're in a vehicle

Yeah, multiple gunners must be in OFP2, as well as firing from vehicles. Multiple gunners would be very useful for larger ships. The custom classes idea is good one. At the very least, all types of weapons should be able to be fired from all types of vehicles.

naaaaah , not all weapons fired from all vehicles, just rifles and MG's , nade launchers maybe for most of the vehicles

but it would be cool to fire AT rockets from jeeps

I think that although many types of weapons may hardly ever be used on some classes, just in case anyone wants to make a certain ship/plane/car/tank that has that type of weapon they should be able to make it.

Yes very impotrant feature, shooting from vehicles... for me and some ppl I know.

EDIT: It's ok Crassus, in the Foreign Legion backblast is considered fun stuff. smile.gif

I'd like to see a couple of "shotgun" positions in each vehicle as well as the normal cargo, gunner, and pilot slots. They'd basically be any normal cargo spot that would allow the player to fire his personal weapon.

Obviously not everyone in a helicopter is going to be able to fire their personal weapon out the sides, but a couple cargo spots on the edges would be able to, and they'd be "shotgun" slots.

grat idea! if you take a jeep for example, the front seat passenger next to the driver should have the ability to shoot with his MG or rifle.

Yea and better animations like the getin those sure such ass and its very unreal how those soldiers are getting in a thing...

And fix all the Limits so then it can we greater then part 1 tounge.gif

I agree, multiple gunners in one way or the other is a must!

If OFP2 will be indeed (at least partly) in Vietnam, I want one of these to be fully operational:

I tried that BAS Chinook, i was standing in the back of it shooting at enemy on the ground while inflight, now if we could have that on BMP's etc, ie through the gunports etc, that would be excellent. So yep i would like to see multiple gunners and the aforementioned ability too, if possible biggrin.gif

Ever tried sticking your hand into a 120 knot breeze? How about sticking a gun muzzle from a moving and vibrating helicopter in to this 120 knot breeze? Do you think that anyone could hit anything from a helicopter, you would just annoy the door gunners.

Don't have people firing from helicopters at high speed, fine when you're coming in to land and everyone's firing in the bushes, that's good, but try to keep some sense of what is possible and what is not.

I have to agree with both points, allow both more options with multiple gunner positions and the possibility to have soldiers fire their own weapons from the vehicles.

This could open the doors to tanks with functional, rotating, external machineguns and multiple firing ports for WW2 era bomber addons.

It would be great to have small arms fire from all kinds of vehicles like armored vehicles with firing ports, trucks with soldiers in the back, helicopters in some cases, even jeeps or cars (probably not the best place to fire from, but the player should have the option.)

APCs would be about a million times more effective if gunports worked and the damage model wasn't based on hitpoints.

Add mg positions Something like BF-1942 to the top of tanks to make them just that little bit more un-vurnerable to AA attacks

Yes this should be in Arma2 for various vehicles!

Just like in VBS2 where (for example) in a M1 Tank, the commander AND the gunner have both a top-mounted Machinegun - one a 50cal. and the other one a m240.
