Exciting! Is it far from release? What kin of actions does it have? You cant actually swim and see under water, can you? With the fucked up water physics ofp has now, I cant picture how a diver would work...

How'bout posting some info on how it works?

Don't care but i can see some nice insertions with ejections from low level helicopters.

Can you parachute into water? Can this be implemted for pilots?

The principle is the same as the original diver by Walker (also CoC) but it has been perfected and automated by Matthijs through addon scripting.

No, the OFP engine does not allow that. Your first person view is on the surface.

Denoir, that looks like an AK5 in the first pic. You'll see a correctly made AK5 "GRT" for our next release (SFP).

Also, i've started planning the making of KJ & A-dyk. Maybe we could exchange some ideas?

The best part of the combat diver is not even visible to the player... read on!

The Chain of Command will release a document that describes not only how to make a unit swim, but also provides addon makers with the information they require to make COMPATIBLE addons: The Chain of Command Open Swimming System (CoCOSS).

If addon makers follow the rules given in this document, all swimming units will be able to use eachothers equipment with (the way it looks now) NO extra scripting.

Normal units can be given the swimming feature simply by adding an EXEC command in their INIT field.

Any CoCOSS compliant addons do NOT require the original COC combat diver. They can operate completely stand-alone, and provide mission makers with all CoCOSS features, including a "disable" method, that allows the mission maker to override any and all features with a mission-specific script.

Make the helicopter hover at about 10 meters. The splash effect would require some scripting though.

Ejecting from a PBR at full speed is also quite cool!

smile.gif What's even cooler is ejecting from a LEGO jetski. tounge.gif And you can make a script to take away parachutes from a specific person, or a trigger.

With the Bell Coast Guard addon you can get the chopper to land on the water with a script call in the init. So my guess is you can get a Blackhawk, etc to 'land' and pick up divers!

Hm ... well well ... and you´re sure that the diver won´t spin around and finallly his legs will look out the water during his head will be under water and he takes a drink from the OFP-Water-Bar.

If you´re able to fix this "official" ... lets call it deficit ... then it will be a realy usefull addon. I´m realy looking forward to it but I´m affraid there´re a couple of things that won´t "cooperate" with the idea. How to make the diver swim/moving forward or make him unvincible under water. And what will happen if the diver is lieing half in water and gets shoot.

Wish ya all the best ... it wouldn´t be the first "unpossible" project that enlarge the OFP-world. Hope u get this thing running smile.gif
