1.91 is in beta. Like it says on the official OFP site (www.flashpoint1985.com):

A final version of this patch will become available in the future.<span id='postcolor'>

My hunch is one of two things:

1. Version 1.95 (guessing version number) will introduce new addons and sample SP and MP missions.

2. Version 1.95 will be released around the time that the N. American GOTY edition will be released because BIS and CM decided to produce the CDs at the latest patch level to reduce support requests to a minimum.

I wish it was 1 but I'm leaning towards 2.

hmmm, Im happy waiting for a patch, I hope that it introduces something big (eg. the ability to stand on moving vehicles). I don't think it needs any more addons. Its already perfect.

I agree, it will most likely be one of your two choices. The only think I really hope is that with new addons (if any) we don't just get the final camel, but perhaps some other small, usefull addons as well. Something like a PK-armed UAZ, an Ural w/o back cover and even an Mi17 w/o the missile racks would be great already, and furthermore easy to implement as the base models already exist.

Maybe it will be a mix of the two. wow.gifwink.gif

How do they determine the version number for the patch?, and how high can they possibly go before its just 2.0?

I was under the impression that the game engine couldn't handle it?

As far as patch numbers, they can do what The Sims Online does:

1.683.24.18

They can have a lot of patches tounge.gif

That would technincally make if OFP2 smile.gif

Not really. Just version 2.0 of "Operation Flashpoint" is totally different from a sequel to it (with name like "Operation Flashpoint 2", with a registered trademark etc.). Some games have versions like 18.5 but no one cares... at least I dont.

Actually the max patch number could only be:

_

1.9

(trying to put a Å» above it. no overline in IB code though ;P)

Remember the Doom days?

think 1.666 was the completed sorted version, i think we ended up with Ultimate doom 1.999, that came out after doom 2 i seem to remember.

I dont think you should hope to be able to stand on moving vehicles in the next patch. You also should not hope for bullets that go through walls or grenades leaving craters...

Why?

Even if you know, or think, that it's futile to hope for something doesn't mean that you shouldn't, that's the nature of hope...

To me it seems like way to big changes to add to the next patch.

Im just waiting for IL or OFP 2 now smile.gif

1.91 fixes that tounge.gif

Who cares, I don't mind having beta patches. Hell, everything in the beta's is going to be in the main patch, so whats to complain about? You're still getting the same fixes, and faster.

If you have bullets that go through walls how would you know if some1 is cheating and can see you through the wall or generally just got a lucky shot?

I go through walls quite often though. Yes, in OFP, not real life. I think the wall clipping bug is a travesty of justice. It's very annoying to fall out of a building through a wall and into the middle of an enemy squad that was looking for you. Even worse is when you fall off the 4th floor, break your legs and have to crawl around screaming when you try to stand up.

Not to mention that it makes indoor battles pretty much impossible. confused.gif
