I take it you meant "price" - not "prize".

It would have to be super good, with lots of quality addons, missions and a campaign to get anything out of me.

And it would have to be guaranteed upward compatible with future OFP versions.

I'm using my unpayable free time to build add-ons, so I'd say a whole mod is more than ever unpayable ( ). In addition, one is using much information provided by others -unpayable, too.

Conclusion: Mods should be free and they should be regarded as "hobby". Period.

If its an unofficial mod, I wouldnt pay anything since anything made with O2 cannot be sold so it would be just a bunch of missions and scripts.

BIS proofed the game, they made it, they can charge for it,

The rest of us are using their tools to build stuff to interact with their engine, hardly what I'd call worthy of compensation.

<yes even the best of us, the only real kudo one can hope for is to be picked up by BIS or another studio that's followed your work, outright compensation for modding is ludicrious>

+ those prices don't REALLY mean anything to me. It appears that british commerce is COMPLETELY different to american commerce. (eg. in england you would NEVER get any kind of computer game type thing for under Å3)

I'm willing to pay for the effort of the makers and the time they spend on a mod, but only if it's legal and if it's worth the money. In that case I would even spend more than 10€.

I would probably not spend money for a single addon though.

Ummm no, look you can download CS and every other mod for every game for free. Just cause a mod goes mainstream doesn't mean it's not a mod. Even if DoD will be purchasable I can still get it for free off the internet.

Not a chance. I would just play with the stuff from my team, as we will never even think of charging a penny. It just isn't right, and I think anyone that charges is being selfish. I make islands and stuff because I love to do it, and it makes me feel great when others use them. I don't want money, just approval would do.

Haven't you people heard of Counter Strike Condition Zero it is a game not a mod but it is not released yet it going to be released in May 2003 and it is a MP game

I would buy a MOD for OFP if the publisher

a: bought the engine software via licence from BIS.

and

b: was publishing a game that was compatable but different, ie was a MMORPG that used the Oxy/Visitor engine. The publisher would be as supportive if not more than BIS for addon makers. It couldn't be anything that there is an alternative for like SEBs Nam pack is free but if Operation Vietnam wasn't I wouldn't buy it.

i dont know, VBS1 the one you can buy...the core one is just the normal ofp units vehicles etc with 1 new thing a C130 crash and a few islands. the USMC stuff is in packs not included as far as i know

I think BIS should get all the best UnOfficial addons and release them on CD (like they do with other games) and pay the Mod makers Royalties (lets say 5%)

i dont think BIS can do that, everything BIS makes or wants to release has to be tested and aproved by Codemasters
