ralphwiggum 6 Posted December 5, 2002 OK, i think it's about time we take a look back at year 2002. Cast your votes on whichever one you think should be the News of the Year for our community. and no, Peterpan did not make it.
MarcusJClifford 1 Posted December 5, 2002 I just voted and thought wow everyone agrees with me then I looked and I was the only one to vote so far. OH well. The highpoint for me had to be the release of Resistance, it added so much to the game in so many ways.
Placebo 29 Posted December 5, 2002 Being the anti-mod Mod that I am I voted for Oxygen/Breathe as it seemed to be important to the community as a whole for the tools to be released, personally I was more than happy with what Bis gave me to play with
PiNs_Da_Smoka 0 Posted December 5, 2002 Breathe program definately. Resistence was good and all...well, great actually. But as far as the community, i feel that the Breathe program lifted its spirits alot. Even though the people that did not become a part of it git a little jealous of us "ModMakers", it was still a good thing. And though, the Breathe program is pretty much a forgotten turd in the toilet of life, i think it was pretty significant at the time.
Jamesia 0 Posted December 5, 2002 I think the user made addons are best (LSD, Hawk, Tomcat, etc.) without them we wouldn't consider operation flashpoint to be the game we do today. User made addons I am sure are going to truly keep this game alive most
PiNs_Da_Smoka 0 Posted December 5, 2002 I think user made addons and the Breathe program option should kind of go together. Because the time has passed when simply retextured objects are going to pass. Because its not true. Simply putting new textures on something is boring now. We need new models, and that can't be done without O2. So i think that option should be strickin from here, as they kinda contradict each other.
ralphwiggum 6 Posted December 6, 2002 i thoughta bout it too, but it's one thing to have a tool and another thing to make diverse products out of it.
Mr. Snrub 0 Posted December 6, 2002 It was a choice between the release of Resistance and the release of Oxygen/Breathe/User-made addons...but i had to go with Oxygen etc. As damn good as Resistance is, the ability of the community to make new units properly I thought was probably the biggest leap forward
SFG 1 Posted December 6, 2002 Breathe program plain and simple.
Guest Posted December 6, 2002 The release of Resistance and 1.85 patch. Why? Because of the added and improved scripting functions. One thing that makes OFP so different from the other games is the possibility of scripting. Unfortunately a minority seems to appriciate that. O2 is nice, but that is really nothing new. Many other games have custom made models. One type of tank or another makes no real difference conceptually. The scripting does.
MarcusJClifford 1 Posted December 6, 2002 Im surprised after 50 votes Linux support has not get any Is it really bad or something - I have no experience of it

whisperFFW06 0 Posted December 10, 2002 Not easy to see which..... O2? Quite important, and made a huge boost to OFP community... Res? Big step forward, in many department, including graphics, network and editing... 3rd party Addons? Incredible work so far, and can make OFP a completely different game... So I decided to vote for what has made a big change in MY way of playing : OFP Linux server Guys, having a big Linux box to run this game makes a huge difference Whis'
