remo 2 Posted January 11, 2017 Hi I played BIS games since Operation Flashpoint in 2001 and one thing I loved was the interest for lively environment and details you never get in other game. There has been a constant progression in there until arma3 : we got more civilians, people and vehicles, civ presence module, women, animals, open building with furniture and then.... all this stop in arma3. we get new but we get far less contents. Having civilian rushing for cover and shouting, old and young civilian create this so particular atmosphere of arma, and in a way reflected the unique humanist and european approach of their conceptor. All of this disappeared with arma3... the engine has great improvement but why losing feature and content added before ? Walking in altis street is great but it is so great than it feel strange that it lacks of people living it. Entering the building is far more disappointing : no bed, no desk, do decoration, nothing we had since 2001. Ok there's the editor, but it contain very few civilian furniture (bed, chair, fridge, cooking etc) and even if we had furniture it's a pain to put it one by one in all the houses of a village. It's a big paradox : we have a huge map but we have to do micromanagement to make it alive. Why not making a "civilian and/or ambient life" DLC ? CONTENTS : - give us more civilians, even if not playable : old young, and why not children ? Nowadays conflicts cause more civilian causalities than military/armed personnel ones. - give us women : half of the world dudes ! even not customisable civilians. - Make the civilian and vehicle site module back, to help us populate the area, with options for altis and tanoan. (same for military site, there's only CSAT !) - more big boats... and vehicles... we had a lot in arma2 (bike bicycle bus trucks boats...) and plenty of nice civilian vehicles in Takeonehelicopters. - less rabits on altis please, and more birds on island : underwater world is fantastic, but so life is so poor on the ground Editing - sounds disappeared with eden editor. (ie battle sound, frogs etc) it will be great to have them back in a easy way : mission maker are not all top programmers. - Same with the camera : we had this great and easy option in OperationFlashpoint in the trigger or waypoint effect, to launch a preset camera view. it disappeared with arma1, too bad for low tech mission makers to make suitable intro and outro Engine - In the last update of Arma2, Helicopters can fly NOE at 15 m above the ground, adapting to topography and objects. This was an other feature that disappeared in arma3 : the flyinheight command became completely weird and same for the new flyInHeightASL. it works when set at less than 10 meters, at more than 50 meter, but impossible to make a bird fly at 25 or 30 m as in A2, whitch is the good height for NOE avoiding buildings and tree TANOA This island is fantastic. But please... make the buildings destructible... we can't destroy a lot of them (ie fuel tank in the harbor, crane etc...), this reduce al lot of sabotage mission possibilities others - would it be possible to put sachel charges in water ? it's a must for a demolition combat diver... 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The release of Tonoa and water being a huge part of the map I think that the physics engine when it comes to water and air vehicles should be changed to allow vehicles to realistically land in water. The realism can be based on a number of things; Speed of the plane, Vertical Speed, angle of attack and angle of impact. When the vehicle hits the water is should also be down to other things such as the shape of the water (waves) and how that can affect the wings and body of the plane. xon2 102 Posted February 1, 2017 Be so kind to consider adding an assignable ''auto-trim on/off'' button to the helicopter controls for use with the advanced helicopter flight model (just like auto-hover). Aircraft have various 'Stability Augmentation Systems' for the longest time now, but usually the pilot can turn them on and off on the fly, whatever the situation at hand requires. Right now, in arma 3, this is all or nothing. I really like the direct and challenging control with auto-trim off when taking off and landing and such. But during long flights at crusing speed, a stability function is missing. For instance, when doing a reconnaissance flight in the littlebird, youre busy constantly fine tuning all flight axis and setting the new trim config to achieve something like an attidude and altidude hold pattern. There is a seaplane mod that works quite well-no problems landing on the water and taxiing into harbours etc. There is also a similar one for a C-130 with floats on the landing gear also :) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

mechanical 17 Posted February 25, 2017 Suggestion Just put in a few handheld flashlights BOHE. Please just make an official handheld flashlight operation for arma 3. Yes there are mods but they are all a pain usually come with additional things you don't want and are just not sophisticated. Your taking on jets (lol see what i did there) and their physics and operations to a more simulated affect and that s great, I have flying hours in on cessna 182's, piper low wings and like to see sims close to the real thing. Back on track though a flashlight setup should be really low hanging fruit for you guys, from first meeting to end result should be like 7 days with 3 or 4 guys. All the mechanics are there from the weapon flashlights, just need to determine where its placed. Do you create a headlamp as one option replaces the NVG slot and would be the first easy option. In reality, since none of your pistols have tinnys (baffling to some people), just use the wasted laser/light slot on the pistol area that has been used by nothing ever, and on the pistol area, if any flashlight gun mounted or other wise is in that slot you can just press L to operate it in hand. If there is also a rifle light just always give the rifle precedence if the rifle is in hand or if pistol is not selected. No pistol at all is just a hand facing forward animation, if your worried about running animation with the hands swinging be lazy and just place light on shoulder, pistol in hand just do the old police wrist cross over animation so pistol use is fluent and wouldn't change much of anything. I recognize all the amazing things you have produced and the massive challenges that some things have been, but I feel this is just hanging there and should be just done by BOHE its almost there already and it feels like it should have been all along. Even the ability to just hold any of the light sticks for some light would be great. Some creative missions are just a lot more lame with nvgs and the flashlights can be just perfect for those quick frights or realism, in fact as a simulator its pretty recognizable that not 50% of most armys are going to have nvgs (think base infiltration missions at night). Hope to see something at some point but i am just one nobody inquiring about a small topic that few may care about, but I personally think its just one of those tiny things that would just make a package feel complete.
