i havent tried this out yet (as its gonna take a while on my 56k), but will it work for multiplayer? if not can you consider making a multiplayer compatible version with just a sound.pbo replacement?

What does it do? just improve sound?

I would download it and find out myself, but I have only a 56k modem and i haven't got around to downloading patch 1.8 yet.

ISnt even close to the realistic sounds that I have in my own customized sound pack...the Hitman 1 AK sounds, Raven Shield M16, real Vulcan recording, Real M60 sounds, all this stuff cant be beat.  biggrin.gif

In case you were wondering...I watched a video of a bank shootout where 2 guys with ak47's on fullauto were shooting at cops, well let's jsut say HItman is the closest in terms of AK sounds!

well this would be pretty difficult cuz Satchel Sound pack has .ogg sounds and they ARENT named like normal OFP Sounds (as example explosion1.wss is atexplosion.ogg in satchel soundpack) and also they need to be converted to .wss to work correctly :/

As far as I know the sounds Satchel used are very realistic. He put alot of work in this sound pack and its by far the best I have tried.

Battlesounds 1.1S uses alot of sounds from the DR soundpack. However, the DR pack uses all kinds of new sound events that are not present in the regular bin.

quakergamer: thats why i said a multiplayer compatible version, so i meant all of those changes and no config changes....

PitViper: i have battlesounds, i was just hoping to find out if DR is as good as everyone says, i think most people wouldnt mind sacrificing the few extra sounds hes added for it to work in multiplayer, either way, its your time so its your decision i just thought it would be good to have it where theres no messing about between .exe's and seeing the sounds used in multiplayer

Eviscerator, it is a good as folks say, and worth the download and mod directory. The extra sounds add nice extra depth, especially the beloved whistling tank shell sound (though i will miss the barking AK of the amon sound).

And Pitviper, in regards to releasing the config.cpp for sp use, maybe consider a special version of DR, with tweaked things like dispersion to make things a bit more realistic. I really dont know how much work is involved each time you update it, but a tweaked config.bin could be excellent for sp.

The other day in sp when an ai gave me a headshot while running with a kozlice about 70 meters away, i thought a altered config would be nice.

I am thinking about a tweaked version.  Vikingo has one which changes alot of items.  for example,  the RPG7's become the default light anti-tank weapon for the russians.

I will be releasing the cpp at some point, im not sure when.

Can you detail the dispersion changes for me?

USMC Sniper can you host somewhere you own pack ? I was always looking for REAKISTIC sounds but not the way the author of the pack likes them.

Good Idea PitViper!! It will be nice release a tweaked versions with those changes. Some addons are needed but you can make a pack with them and no problem. Here I wait excited for that release :-) Vikingo

I have a question about dispersion editing. I search for dispersion in my config file and find it. But it doesn't look like theres any value for it. It says dispersion then alot of weird text, I don't see "0.0002" or anything like that. Help?
