Yeah, sorry, I meant Hunapu, not Pacamac. Tanks for the answers, I will check that issue ASAP!

Making my way through this mission.
Love the choice I had to make for the initial snipe from up above.

Just two things so far:
1. Picked up a guy on the way to the Independents for escorting.

Managed to get him loaded with a weapon.
When meeting the Independents, they told me to unarm. I did. Things didn't change.
Next round, I made sure the guy I escorted had not weapons. Worked fine.

2. At Mataredo, killed everyone, but nothing is happening. No Set Task success.
Basically, I am stuck there and cannot proceed.

Hi Mordocai

Check if you have a radio message available. Press 0-0-1.

I will make that part clearer in the next update (will make a task out of it).

Thanks for your feedback! :)

Fantastic job, Undeceived! You have made the best of the best Arma campaigns and missions! I still think that the original Armed Assault Evil's Last Will mission is better:)

Haha :D What makes you think so? In my opinion Arma 3 "feels" way better than A1.

Thanks a lot for the comment!

I feel the A1 version is much more original or like nostalgic, it has the better atmosphere. But Arma 3 is better as a game.

Hello Undeceived!

I'm working my way through the mission right now, and so far, I am impressed! I've played everything you released so far for ArmA series, and you always manage to deliver a quality work!

However, I am experiencing a glitch that sadly does not allow me to continue in this awesome mission; when I arrive at Mataredo, I clear the village of all 'Specnaz' soldiers, then move to the center of the village, where a cutscene should take place (I think). But then, my game crashes to dekstop (just around 0,5/1 sec after the start of the cutscene) and I get the ACCESS_VIOLATION error. Also I get the error that 'instruction on address line blah pointed to address blah' and the game cannot perform 'read operation' / or 'write operation' with the memory. Numbers of the addresses always differ, as read or write operation. Each error is a new situation, but the general ACCESS_VIOLATION error remains the same.

I am running on 'dev' branch, I've also tried switching from 32-BIT to 64-BIT and vice versa, but still, at that same point, I get that same CTD.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, I really want to finish this mission to the end. :thanx:

I've had to deal with numerous crashes and such in the past couple months with Arma 3 and mods in general. We do know that 32-bit Arma is limited to 3.2GB before it will crash. Obviously the 64-bit version would not have that issue. Someone elsewhere suggested increasing the pagefile and ensuring there is enough hard drive space left where the game is running. It's possible one of the CUP mods is corrupted and needs to be refreshed. I would suggest the latter because I had no trouble running through Matadero in this mission, I think it was CUP 1.80 when I played, make sure all 3 of them are the same version (1.8.1 was just released the other day).

Also looking forward to seeing Black Lands in A3! It was one of the "must play" campaigns of A2.

@Undeceived I also put a reference to this mission in the end credits of Shadow Fall telling everyone to play Evil's Last Will. Probably hard to read with it scrolling by kind of fast, LOL.

Okay, I will try enabling huge pagefile in Arma 3 preferences, also I'll try enabling HyperThreading. I don't play on regular PC, but on gaming laptop, so I don't know how far I can go before everything goes to hell (it did happened in the past, now I know that it's not a good idea to overclock GPU's on gaming laptops :f:). My CUP is subscribed from Steam, so I think there should be everything in order and most importantly, in latest versions.

Problems won't discourage me from trying, I really want to complete this mission in Arma 3!

I'm planning to install A2: Combined Operations again just to play some of the old campaigns again, but if there's port of Black Lands coming to A3... :drinking2:

I hope I didn't let the cat of the bag on Black Lands, I thought it was common knowledge. He's been hinting at it in other threads.

And yeah this is well worth completing!

Nooo, it was supposed to be a surprise for my wife at my wedding day!! :don11: Just kidding, she already knows.

Yeah, I'm porting it. Right now I'm at the second last mission. Very time consuming, as I have to develop it completely from scratch - some may remember, you could complete it with one mouse click on the map.

But before that I have something different in store, a SP mini campaign about a bunch of Altian kids getting into deep trouble aka. SHIT.

XerXes, yeah, try that. I haven't played the mission for quite some time, but never experienced something like this, and if, then it was a random crash, unrelated to certain parts of the mission (did it crash right THERE in Mataredo repeatedly?). I hope you can sort it out.

Thanks a lot for the feedback.

Unfortunately, like XerXes, I had to stop at Mataredo.
I cleared the town, but nothing happened after that.

Did not experience crash, but no "Success" or "New Task" showed up.

Yeah, Mordocai, I noticed that I mixed up both villages in my last post to you (Hunapu and Mataredo). And then I forgot to get back to you. Sry for that.

Nevertheless I think that both issues aren't the same. In your case it could be that:

Spoiler

...that you missed a Spetsnaz in the village. I set the AI so that they don't flee but maybe one of them is roaming around outside of the village, out of your sight.

I will try to optimize that part and use another approach to check if Mataredo is clear.

Did you try it more than once btw?

In Xerxes case it seems that the following cutscene started and only then the game crashed (because of an unknown reason).

Okay, I've found the problem, and it was completely unrelated to your mission, Undeceived.

I've reverted back to the 'stable' branch, and problem no longer occurs. My bad, then.

Thanks again for a perfect mission!

Thanks a lot, Xerxes!

That's a comforting feeling to see that BI didn't mess up something in their previous patches. :D Looking forward to see if the problem is there in the next stable patch though. :dozingoff:

Hi guys, and here we go with another update (v. 1.3 - see first post).

Fixed a showstopper this time:

Spoiler

The extraction chopper wouldn't come.

Other than that I killed some more bugs and added these nice little task icons (task types).:don11:

If anyone gets lost in here and tries it out - feedback and bug reports are very much welcomed.
