reforger 30 Posted February 9, 2015 I think I could fill a whole book with analogies:D. However I cant await the new showcase!
IndeedPete 1038 Posted February 9, 2015 Yeah, quite a lot to do. Got a good list ahead: Fixing wrong equipment in vehicles and on some untis. (Darn copy paste mistakes.) Zeus compatibility. (A horrible extraction and copy-paste of all classnames...) Re-texturing the AAF vehicles. Server key. (Simply forgot that the last time.) Showcase. (So far I've got the intro, crime scene and police vehicles with siren and lightbar.) Re-texturing the old vehicles with the new vehicle camo. Coming up with a cool camo for the AAF air assets. (I just don't like digital patterns even if they're quite effective.) Drones... Ghillie-suits. (Since it's now possible to re-texture them.)
slatts 1978 Posted February 9, 2015 What about some splinter camo on the air assests? Maybe a two tone grey.
reforger 30 Posted February 9, 2015 MPs with lightbars sound good. If you have enough time a few pics would be nice. Otherwise good luck in the modding and your real life.
IndeedPete 1038 Posted February 9, 2015 That was my first idea for the tanks. Like on this Finnish Leopard 2: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopard_2#mediaviewer/File:Finnish_Leopard_2.jpg However, I've only found a Swedish pattern in bad resolution causing my first experiments to look like ****. I guess it would work on smaller units but you see every edge and wrong pixel on larger vehicles like tanks. I wasn't able to create a sufficient one by myself from scratch. Even thought of making up something like the German WWII splinter camo "Splittertarn" shown in this wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Splittertarnmuster But my skills are still too low to come up with decent results. I might try it another time. But it's quite hard to find tutorials on such special topics. Would love to have a decent splinter camo source file, ideally as .PSD or .XCF. ---------- Post added at 10:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:51 PM ---------- MPs with lightbars sound good. Pics are two pages back: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?187621-European-BLUFOR-Re-Texture-%28EUROFORCE%29&p=2869781&viewfull=1#post2869781 I've actually tried to take a vid but windows movie crap messed it on converting every time so it had pixel errors in the blue / red light parts. The siren sound is a British / US one for now. I've tried to find a good German / central European sample because I feel these are used in many European countries. reforger 30 Posted February 9, 2015 Ah, I forgot these pictures. I would prefere this siren:
IndeedPete 1038 Posted February 9, 2015 I find it a bit too fast but at least it's a clean sample.^^ By the way, this small police mod has actually really well done sounds and the light effects are pretty good as well: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=23712
IndeedPete 1038 Posted February 10, 2015 Just finished the MRAP re-texture. Also changed the second colour of the snow vehicle scheme to a darker green (compared to original AAF vehicles on the left):
lone.wolf 80 Posted February 10, 2015 Looks nice, i like the arctic camo...!
R0adki11 3949 Posted February 10, 2015 Nice camo on the vehicles, very effective :)
IndeedPete 1038 Posted February 10, 2015 Thanks chaps! It is effective? I've spent like one minute on that simple cloud camo.^^ Seems the simplest things are the best when it comes to vehicle patterns. And I've spent hours before experimenting with fancy fractal or triangle patterns... ---------- Post added at 02:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:05 PM ---------- Just made up a very simple triangle pattern inspired by the vanilla British uniforms. It's just a rough prototype, quickly done, colours and details might change: What do you guys think?
reforger 30 Posted February 10, 2015 For planes I think its perfect. But helicopters sould be green. That has tactical reasons. Also I find it nicer:).
IndeedPete 1038 Posted February 10, 2015 Yes, as said the colours will change. For now it's dark grey, light grey and a third layer of black triangles with 50% opacity.^^
reforger 30 Posted February 10, 2015 Ok, nice work!
IndeedPete 1038 Posted February 11, 2015 Finished the Gorgon today and also took on the Mohawk and Buzzard. The Gorgon comes in the known ground vehicle schemes, Buzzards are done in light and dark grey variants and the Mohawk will be available in Black, Green and Navy colours: Good night! ;)
reforger 30 Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) I love the snow camo:D Edited February 11, 2015 by reforger
reforger 30 Posted February 15, 2015 If you still need a clear example for a european siren: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jnj8yhwFVkI (I think the country version is nice)
IndeedPete 1038 Posted February 15, 2015 Thanks, I'll look into it! Meanwhile, the Mora has been done as well. Plus I've upgraded the MP, they'll get the wheeled APCs as well, fancy Navy cloud camo ensured. ;)
IndeedPete 1038 Posted February 15, 2015 Redid the Hellcat as well. Plus I've added the second MRAP to the police force: Fiddling around with the European police sound right now.
Private Evans 498 Posted February 16, 2015 I am soooo happy to see someone creating stuff for the futuristic Armaverse setting. Having an combined Euro Force beside CSAT and US forces is awesome, really makes sense regarding the future setting and allows a lot of cool new scenarios all over the world. Do you plan to extend CSAT forces as well by adding maybe some retextured chinese units or maybe somekind of Agressors Pack but based on the events of the Armaverse or possible future settings? keep it up
lone.wolf 80 Posted February 16, 2015 Looks very cool, i like especially the MP...!! Keep it up, nice addtional army.
IndeedPete 1038 Posted February 16, 2015 Thanks guys! @PrivateEvans: More or less - I plan to do a CSAT snow re-texture for another project. And I've started to prototype snow / woodland insurgents and police forces of a fictional country located somewhere between Russia and Europe (also for a that new project). Not sure if these will gather enough interest to be stand-alone though. My original plan would be to publish these units alongside with that new project, we'll see.^^

IndeedPete 1038 Posted February 16, 2015 As said, it'll be insurgents and police forces. I will most likely rely on Toadie's weapon packs because I just love his AK's. So, there will be simple policemen with pick-ups, handguns and MP5s, more elite police squads with better body armour, automatic weapons (most likely MP5s and AR-15s + marksmen rifles) and maybe even light armour (wheeled APCs). For story reasons (of that new project I'm not revealing yet) the actual insurgents will probably come in two stages. Light, with rusty old AKs, scarce ammo, improvised equipment and pick-ups. And then in heavy with better guns and small (salvaged) tanks / APCs. (A bit heavier than FIA, more comparable to Arma 2's NAPA.) Furthermore, again for the narrative both Guerrillas and local police forces are on the same side. It's just a concept for now, their roots lie in an anti-Soviet independent movement from the cold war era called the "Black Star" (contrary to the Red Star), which is also on the flag of their small independent nation. The interesting part is that I want a different uniform for every unit class on the insurgents' side, so they look pretty vary. I've made a lot of concept camos ranging from Russian to Flecktarn to US Camo, mixed through the different uniform parts. Here are some images of the prototypes, ranging from pretty cool to totally horrible. These are just experiments, many won't make it into the mod. And I've just used three different uniforms for that because most of the Altian guerrilla uniforms aren't any good for colder weather (short sleeves etc.): Oh, and the upside down German flag with the Black Star is meant to mock the NVA (Nationale Volksarmee) of the German Democratic Republic back in the socialist days. :)
lone.wolf 80 Posted February 16, 2015 Wow i really like these units, the look super good... And if only prototype then the end result will be extreme cool...! Will the vehicles be reskinned according different or more down the same line (trying to say if they also will very variated in camo schemes or ..?)... There are really some very nice combinations in this bunch, good luck and will be looking forward to follow it... I also like the two flags, simple but very some kind of powerfull..!
