thedog88 4 Posted August 11, 2014 sooooo while scorch works on the drop pod sequence a bit i tackled something else. thanks to ghostayami for this superb model this is looking beyond sick already. i managed to get the pelican in game as an airplane thus far. still having a lot of issues but its also far from done. i'll be working on this the next few days while the drop pods are in scorchs hands. this model is insanely nice and features full interior for cockpit and cargo area. i will add in a bunch of cockpit details as its currently fairly blank but its looking pretty good imo. anyways, sneak peek http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/575652271007979580/AC5F37CB66141D8555C1156D4C88E881ADC9FC28/ EDIT: im still not sure which flight model would be best for this thing, was thinking osprey but how to apply that config to the model is still beyond me. besides, i cant seem to find the ospreys config along with the unpbo'd model to look into it, if you have it let me know... maybe i can get it working. for right now i will make it a plane, see how it feels, then try as a chopper. probably going to be a chopper with plane sounds though. However, I wanted to know what sounds you will use for the weapons, since the sounds of the original HALO titles are not really fit for ArmA. So I will respond to this with the best I can for as I know we will be using for the 7.62 Rifiles the 7.62 Rifle Sound effects basically just ripping the gun sounds from the same Caliber weapon this is what I KNOW OF! But that seems like the most logical thing to do for now but if I can get in Contact with Lord Jarhead we could possibly get some custom ones other then the base weapons. thedog88 4 Posted August 12, 2014 (edited) buildings = sexy! in regards to sounds we will most likely use standard arma sounds for now, unless like xidar said we manage to get custom ones. WE WILL NOT BE RIPPING ANYTHING FROM ANY OTHER GAME AND IMPORTING FILES INTO ARMA. why? because we dont want the mod to get shut down. anything we work with is either self made, free to use, or donated by the author/creator. aaand edit: i've decided to give the pelican a helo flight model as initial one instead. i was thinking in regards of maneuverability it would probably be impossible to land that thing safely in the frigate with a planes flight model... of course ill play around with the config to get it as close as possible to the flight dynamics we see in all the halo games. i will also be making armed and non armed variants. I just realized as well that with BIS working on firing from vehicles me might be able to have marines shooting from the passenger seat of the warthog just like in Halo. thedog88 4 Posted August 12, 2014 (edited) oh man im sorry, but in that case i highly suggest you dont look at this picture. http://i.imgur.com/nOcmHIC.jpg all the lights and stuff working. the cockpit gadget lights are actually working too but the gadgets themselves arent yet. rocket pods attached, mini gun attached. shes ready for her variants. the back holds 12 troopers instead of halos 10 so that is a slight inaccuracy, but the more the marrier. im also going to add in a crew chief slot somewhere. but yeah, hope you enjoy ;) edit: having some trouble with the sounds. it has jet sounds but they can barely be heard until you are up to speed. start up and shut down are fine but idle and acceleration are not. if anybody is smart with configs, let me know how to get that running correctly before i try messing with just that all day^^ EDIT: sounds working ;) used helicopter settings with jet sounds in case anybody wondered. worked like a charm. thedog88 4 Posted August 12, 2014 (edited) hahaha yeah. ill have to see how it was done and what not. if i can manage to get it digital, ill go that route EDIT: making great progress. the co-pilot seat is now an actual gunners seat. he can take control of the bird but is primarily in charge of the weapons systems. the pilot and the gunner both have flare control so they can be fired from either position. we decided on 4 variants so far for initial release. unarmed, transport with MG, CAS light, and CAS heavy. the armament will change respectively ;) more to come in the next few days. As the older halo CE and halo 2 had side by side pilot and co-pilot with flight engineer raised behind them whilst the halo reach and halo 3 had the newer setup of pilot at the front and co-pilot and flight engineer raised behind the pilot to the left and right - the halo reach one may have been like this as it wasn't expected to see inside the cockpit.
