No Women=Disturbing

Recommended Posts

So, full release has arrived and there are no women in the game. None. Zero. Not military or civilian. This is the future of warfare? As society progresses we have finally, through the long human history of sexism, realized that women have much to offer when it comes to defending their countries. Also, a Mediterranean island is completely devoid of women? How was anyone born and raised there, and more importantly, who stayed there if there were no women? Yet the game completely ignores this (but does give us 'African' and 'Asian' civilians, complete with stereotypical black and slanted eye character models completely unbelievable and bursting at the seams with bigotry).

The outrage over the lack of military content is understandable to me, if not fully shared. It's a game, they did what they could, and they know the community will pick up the slack in areas that are lacking. But to release a game that completely ignores the female sex (that's half the human race right there) is unacceptable and should draw as much outrage. Like it or not, women are a part of this world, and they are especially vulnerable and suffer in war just as much as any man. I doubt BIS has any females on staff not relegated to menial jobs and subject to lower pay, and the last insult was not even including them in the finished product. Just a blanket dismissal of women in the most flippant sense possible.

Check your privilege, BIS.

They're supposedly coming, as others have looked "under the hood", so to speak, and have seen evidence of a large variety of civilian women. When will we get them? I'm not sure, but the placeholders and some of the assets are said to be there, so I imagine we'll see them in time. Meanwhile, there IS a female soldier variant mod (pilot, riflemen, etc) that's under the WIP Addons forum, and I've been using them as chopper pilots and such. Haven't dressed them up in civilian clothes yet, but I'm sure it's do-able!

And then you say

Makes no sense to me. Plus, I've only met one woman that play Arma.

Yeah Roger! So what we are not aloud to have gay islands in ArmA? what are you homophobic? Why don't you take your bigotry somewhere else!

Right, wanting equal representation is 'just starting trouble'. Those pesky women got ouf the kitchen, right, dude?

Go look yourself a big dildo mod somewhere on armaholic so you can enjoy Atlis more.

And gee, look at this, I make a post about inequality and all the bigots come out. No surprise there.

Wawa: Well, that would suit just fine with what the Spartans considered to be "male bonding"...

Also, in before lock. And infractions.

Well I mean, to be fair I haven't seen a kitchen on Altis yet so maybe that is why there is no real female attraction to Altis.

So the only conclusion you came is that BI devs are sexist it couldn't be that they based all of their computer characters to one model and making a woman character might look strange.

Where are the old people? BI hates old people.

Where are the fat people? BI hates fat people.

Where are the children? BI hates children.

Where is the limping old woman from Arma 2? BI hates disabled people.

Is this your way of thinking?

1. fucken lol

2. you ASSUME BI didn't add women because they're all a bunch of sexist bigots. When really, they didn't add women because it was a fuckload of work for something that added absolutely nothing to their storyline.

That is the simplest form of it, nothing more nothing less:

There are no women, because the amount of work required to do it properly was deemed too much in comparison to the gains it brought to the storyline.

Wow. I don't know how old you are, but I'm amazed you've lived this far without the powers of logic.

Men are represented in many amazing and fantastic ways in A3, yet not one.single.female is represented. Not one. That's half the human race. Half.

Do you have a link to this mod? I've been searching the forums and Armaholic to no avail. If you can post it in a reply or a PM I would be most grateful, thank you. :)

On topic... While I don't expect we'll get female soldiers from BIS, I do hope the female civs can use weapons/vehicles unlike in ARMA 2 so we can easily mod them into female soldiers. As a female, I don't feel that BIS is sexist. They just have a lot on their plate with this game and there's a lot of stuff, like the campaign, that is still yet to be implemented.

Same to you. To think that when there isn't a representation of part of the populace in a game that the devs are misogynists but not that there was a technical difficulty.

Where is the logic to that?

Yeah, registered a month ago to make a thread now. I'm a troll because I raise an issue about sexism.

Your first post. Haven't you played the game in this month to talk about another topics regarding the game?

If you were really interested in sexism, you would fight against it in another enviroments were really exists and has serious consequences

BI has always given us women before so I doubt they'd just axe them totally from this release. Funny how they are held to this standard though -does BF3 have women? CoD? DCS?

The latest CoD does. The end of their newest MP trailer shows a female unit getting her throat ripped out by a combat dog (also "new" to CoD this iteration :hyper: )

Pretty much all other "war" games lack them tho. Female models so far have been the realm of RPGs.

have you thought why some of the buildings are inaccesible? maybe women are held hostage there.

This line did honestly make me wonder whether you are trolling or not.

I must admit, no female civilians was a bit strange.

The lack of females is unnatural but not critical with what's going with A3. Females should be the lowest priority for ArmA3 atm. They need to replace half the content in the game with something proper first.
