Should Arma 3 open a hat store on steam?

Recommended Posts

The creators of Steam and former game developer, Valve have, as we all know found a lucrative new micro-transaction based model of payment, the Team Fortress 2 hat store.

Given that Arma 3 now has the ability to remove your hat and such like can BIS confirm that this is going to happen? I would love for ArmA 3 to go F2P and make money from hats.

Just imagine the vast array of military hats that could be sold. I mean there should have been a free Arma 3 hat for pre-ordering Take on: Mars. Opportunity missed I think.

It's not a joke, this is a legitimate suggestion which I fully support

It would be a great way of showing your support to BIS and would allow for more customization, and they could add themed hats such as MLP hats which will attract various fanbases to play with us! I don't see a single issue with this idea.:D

These hats could provide minor buffs such as less fatigue, extra damage and health regeneration/vehicle repair.

OMG this is actually a great idea to raise extra cash for BIS. Hats could be color coded, team or clan specific, it would be great. It would just give the player more freedom.

And think of the possibilities for expansion! The store could sell weapons, vehicle access, features, maps.

What's a better way of making BIS do a feature than paying them for it? You could cast your votes every week by voting with your wallet, the highest voted feature gets implemented into the store and can be bought!

Of course, since BIS can't compete with modders creating their own hats, weapons, vehicles and maps for free, limitations would have to be placed on modding. But no worries, you could still share your missions in the steam workshop. (Assuming the recipient has all the extras included in the map paid for.)

In my console days there was the milsim game where you could unlock gun camo and emblens, will these feature ArmA3? They will make a great addition to any store BIS implement.

BIS should better get their shit together before even thinking about such stuff. They should worry more about the Arma 3 release than anything else.

In all seriousness if BI do start some stuff on steam store at this stage then they are going to get some nasty comparisons to WarZ.

This is a troll obviously either that or he is some kid who can't pay for the game he wants and thinks making a post will make this game f2p...it's funny how you would even think they would do that for all the people that already payed for the full game, get off here if you're going to troll, and if you can't pay for the game your loss it's not going to be f2p.
