blu3sman 11 Posted October 8, 2013 This have been discussed already. It wont happen on official level, but modders are encouraged to do whatever they want.
paecmaker 23 Posted October 8, 2013 Wondering what is the stance of BI & devs on gore implemented in future arma or perhaps even patched in to arma 3 at some point, or would this be something better left to modders to impress us with? Would gore affect possible sales due to changed rating in some countries?I don't consider having gore as an absolute must have feature in any game but I admit I wouldn't mind seeing something along the lines ( even somewhat simplified ) of gore in arma game. I think there have been official sources claiming that they will not implement gore to the game.
rye1 21 Posted October 8, 2013 In my opinion it is a worthless feature. It would be interesting if it was scripted so absolute death or explosive means meant a possibility of being dismembered. Modelling a medical system alone around such an implementation is a hard task. But anyway, though interesting that people even request it. I would not like to see it. Tavish 41 Posted October 9, 2013 I enjoyed the "gore" in SLX back in the day. I'd like to see a new mod that added some immersive limb loss and Bishop-from-Aliens style torsos. A direct .50 hit to a head, arm or leg, or a close hit from HE rounds usually should result in somebody losing something that they were once attached to... The horrors of war are horrific. Not for everybody, but for some people it adds untold immersion.

EDcase 87 Posted October 9, 2013 Soldiers within a certain radius of satchels, explosives, artillery should vanish in a cloud of red mist at least.
chrisb 196 Posted October 9, 2013 I think we need a mod/addon, not sure they will put it in game, possibly better as a addon. There was someone working on a new SLX style gore addon for A2 a while back, not sure what happened there. Still yes something is needed, but only as player choice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kBwmGl21os&list=PLj7LIw2iwG-HBxjqFG4Y32YHKRMkz2AF-&index=
giorgygr 61 Posted October 9, 2013 Even with SLX mod (Solus FTW) the outcome was at best low-quality. I m wondering if there was any way a dismembered body could retain it's original/clothing characteristics.. It would be a start in the long road leading to perfection
ProfTournesol 956 Posted October 9, 2013 Yes, i'm afraid we won't have anything really satisfying if not implemeted enginewise, but i'm quite sure BIS doesn't favor gore.
chrisb 196 Posted October 9, 2013 I don't think they will implement it engine side, there is far more important things that will keep them busy for some while, I feel. But it would be nice to see some dismemberment that looks o.k. as said there, complete with clothed body parts etc.
Tyl3r99 41 Posted October 10, 2013 (edited) Nop, it's a game, with simulation elements. VBS is a simulator. even with simulation elements there should be a more realistic effects regarding the blood or what not, most people find it funny seeing an enemy get blown to pieces with a massive cloud of red dust. obviously its different in real life, but like the dev said its a "game".... in games I find it funny when I blow a mans arm off with a 50cal barret sniper rifle. in games I enjoy the extra effect Edited October 10, 2013 by tyl3r99

valentinbk 10 Posted October 29, 2013 They could do what Creative Assembly did for Shogun 2 and now for Rome 2 - release a paid blood and gore DLC. I would totally get that.
Tyl3r99 41 Posted November 3, 2013 i agree, i would deffo pay for a updated/extended blood effects package!!
Vectif 380 Posted October 20, 2015 Sorry for necro-ing this but I believe this should still be thought of or seen. Even over at VBS2 there were "serious" graphic injuries and gore. I'm not a fan of gore or anything but this game definitely needs it in my opinion; it'd add realism. Even if it's a mod or official, it'd be amazing and useful. dav 22 Posted November 8, 2015 I really wish the devs spent time creating a proper full on gore dlc. Riddled corpses. Mouths with blood streaming down the side. Dislocated limbs and dismembering. Just like real war footage. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
