the_dmx 10 Posted June 17, 2013 (edited) ARMA FOV CHANGER UPDATED 6/20 No More crazy calculations to find the proper veritcal Fov! I find Arma's default fov and also the calculation of the proper FOV irritating. So I made this app. Works on Arma 3, Arma 2 and Dayz!` Select your arma profile : Enter your Screen Resolution, Aspect Ratio, and Desired FOV as shown: -DOWNLOAD- --- If you want to quickly revert to default FOV while in game - Go to the video options and change your aspect ratio from custom to your correct ratio Changes: 6/20 -Fix for international region settings. ---- 6/18 -Added Icon -Fixed field labels yet again. ----- -Corrected Field Labels -Added fields for aspect radio This will allow full compatibility with any screen size. - Resized the logos to reduce file-size - noob mistake. Future features: -Backup/Restore config. Horizontal FOV calculation taken from Rulesy's page here: http://www.rjdown.co.uk/projects/bfbc2/fovcalculator.php Edited June 20, 2013 by the_dmx
OrLoK 20 Posted June 17, 2013 Hello there Anyone tested and *confirmed* this? I'm gagging to try it but am wary of running an exe from a person with 2 posts... Rgds LoK
Scorch052 1 Posted June 17, 2013 I can confirm this works, but author needs to add support for resolutions like 1366x768 and others. Also, the Height and Width boxes appear to be labelled wrong. Width > Height

lordprimate 159 Posted June 17, 2013 I have not downloaded this yet but i have a question to those that have used it.. When you increase you FOV in ARMA 2 and go to your map .. you cannot grab your radio, compass or GPS, by clicking directly on them.. The point that you click on to interact with your compass, gps , and radio while in MAP view moves .. and is no longer centered on the object.. Does this still happen with this .EXE ? the_dmx 10 Posted June 18, 2013 This calculates a vertical fov to horizontal and then to arma's values: fovTop= ; fovLeft= ; nothing more
Predator.v2 10 Posted June 18, 2013 In theory, this may be a nice idea, but the other fov (90) totally distorts my aspect ratio / vision / text / menus. the_dmx 10 Posted June 18, 2013 (edited) aspect ratio for that display is 1680 x 1050 = 16:10 aspect ratio Here are images of that config Normal Fov 90 FOV: Though I think you might have downloaded an earlier copy. I had incorrectly labeled the width and height boxes --- If you want to quickly revert to default in game- Go to the video options and change your aspect ratio from custom to your correct ratio Edited June 18, 2013 by the_dmx

dunedain 48 Posted June 18, 2013 Isn't the vertical fov supposed to be narrower than the horizontal fov? That would explain why people have their aspect ratio distorted.
the_dmx 10 Posted June 18, 2013 (edited) Isn't the vertical fov supposed to be narrower than the horizontal fov? That would explain why people have their aspect ratio distorted. The labels are incorrect. Ill fix that this evening. But the program thinks that the fov entered is the horizontal fov and then calculates for the vertical. so it shouldn't be distorted just really narrow. Well i know how to change the FOV manually, but this tool would help though if it would work ;) It change the results but wrong ! fovTop=0,57; fovLeft=1,02; The "," is wrong. Maybe a bug ?? JackSpyder 10 Posted June 20, 2013 this is not working properly for me, when i try to link it to my A3 it mess's up my exe and steam wont launch the game and i then have to verify integrity to get it back? Its got nothing to do with the Arma3 exe at all. You're doing it wrong. you should be pointing the program to your .ArmA2OAProfile (or arma3) C:\Users\Jack\Documents\Arma 3 Alpha - Other Profiles\JackSpyder or C:\Users\Jack\Documents\ArmA 2 Other Profiles\JackSpyder
