Recommended Posts

i asked USMC also for a type of vehicle photos and i also got them

but i dont think thats a XA188 its a XA200

take a look here http://www.army-technology.com/projects/xa200/index.html

the XA188 is the dutch version of the XA180 the diference is it has a stronger armor and it cant float.

its very confusing all those versions they made confused.gif

XA-188,XA200 one website says this, the other says that...

It will be called XA188 regardless.

will it float? yes... in ofp it will smile.gif

and it will go faster than most other vehicles in ofp cross country, the armor is such that it can take one rpg hit and still live, depends where you are in the vehicle if you will live or not.

It will never survive a direct confrontation with a tank, but might overcome an russian infantry squad provided the rpg soldier is taken out quickly.

Because of its relative high speed it will be able to dodge enemy rockets by zigzagging etc

Your SISU looks great, textures aren't easy to obtain (especially even quality ones). I hope to try out your first version soon smile.gif

What makes SISU APC better than many other light APCs, is the exceptionally high ground clearance and shaping of the hull, enhancing survivability against mines. Like this 1983 UN photo, a Finnish-crewed XA-180 was hit by mine and survived with only bruises inflicted on the men riding inside

Pasi001.jpg

The main site address, has extensive coverage of Finnish UN operations and loads of photos of SISU XA-series APC.

XA-200 series is the newest version of the SISU, XA-180 series is the older one, but there isn't much difference in vehicles look. wink.gif

More armoured version of Pasi is protected against 14.5 rounds. It can easily be destroyed with one RPG / LAW hit.

I'd say that the best way to recognize more and less armoured versions from each other is to look if vehicle has rotors at back of it. More armoured version lacks rotors because it can't swim.

Though these might be the textures you are already using?

In future it will be accompanied with AMV 8x8 which, as far as I understand can be more easily used in different variations.

the paint scheme on that AMV 8x8 looks so nasty, but I geuss it works right?

back on topic, will the apc be able to be hit when running over a landmine?

Excellent, but the windows should be a bit smaller I think, especially vertically.

The model looks alright, except the textures are pretty crappy. Maybe you should have used the basic FDF camo pattern for PASI.

What's the stick sticking up from the cockpit? Never seen a XA-series vehicle with that, looks very weird.

Yeah, I know, but I meant that big big stick in the model. Never seen one of those.

OMG! I've been riding in that PASI #641 ... I think it was in Syndalen or something.

Horrible memories pop up wink.gif

I think that big metal pole sticking out is used for either engineering jobs (like as a simple crane) or for vehicle recovery jobs. However I agree that it should go because in the game it's not of any use, and it just looks ugly.
