Flogger23m 2 Posted May 5, 2013 I would like to see more of the options/features in GUI form and be easily accessible. I've given many examples in the past so I won't bother doing so right now, but there are plenty of things that require substantial more effort to do in ArmA 2/3 Alpha's editor compared to DCS and Jane's USAF (1999). Both DCS and ArmA 3 need a 3D mode which can switch seamlessly between the 2D mode like USAF featured.
afp 1 Posted May 5, 2013 Don't know if it has been mentioned here or elsewhere or whether everybody knows or whether it's a useless hint:Copy & Paste (ctrl + c/v) works in the editor, for everything that is currently marked. It also works cross-map. Speaking in Arma2-terms for example copying something from Utes then load Chernarus and paste. Well, actually this is about, the lack of polish plus some minimal extra features. Most world editors have a menu and an "edit" entry having "copy" and "paste", or a context menu on right click so the dumbest user can quickly find out that he can duplicate units. Since we got here, I here some other things I find ussefull: - make a "patrol" waypoint, with the range of the waypoint being the random patrol area; kind of "seek and destroy" with range. - simplify all that units behaviour and reduce it to simplier stances like "offensive/defensive", "up/crouch/down/dynamic". defensive= do not chase enemy. default=offensive - add a weapons loadout customizer for boxes and units - the possibility to save custom units groups or buildings area as templates in a template library - easy toggle between 2d and 3d editor - full menu, key accelerators, context menu, tooltips, professional look - option to create/activate/deactivate areas in order to preserve resources. etc etc.... It's a recent step forward that they added the developer console. A new user should be able to create the simplest coop mission within seconds by poping up some players template and some enemy groups without any waypoint that should behave agressive by default. Then we can talk about a "user friendly" editor.
liquidpinky 11 Posted May 5, 2013 An undo would be nice as well.

Tonci87 163 Posted May 6, 2013 Seriously CTRL+Z (undo) needs to be made!
dmarkwick 261 Posted May 6, 2013 Seriously CTRL+Z (undo) needs to be made! Right. So "Ctrl+Z" and "Save As" needs fixing/implementing :) These two things are UI standard in any case.
Gunter Severloh 4063 Posted May 6, 2013 I would really like to see what i have been posting about for the longest time: Make multiple units playable at once Why we are still having to edit each individual unit just to make the whole squad playable is getting very old. Tonci87 163 Posted May 6, 2013 Right klick menu comes to mind. Select multiple units->right klick->menu with all kinds of usefull stuff.
Gunter Severloh 4063 Posted May 6, 2013 Right on Tonic, thats the idea, any click tbh, just make it so we can make multiple units playable at once! Oh and vote on my ticket please :)

Yea, batch operations for groups of soldiers/vehicles would be nice. Would be nice to select all and drag the skill slider (for example) once and for all.
