You know, I'm with you guys on that "dayz-influx of cry babies into Arma community" train etc - but you gotta give some credit to Dayz and Wasteland, they are interesting game modes (or whatever you want to call them)...

The fact that most (or the loudest?) players that play them are immature and spoiled is another fact altogether...

without day z there would be no arma 3 until prob 5 more years . arma 2 sales where didnt go any where till the 1 million from day z bought it.

yea arma would be nothing without dayz...:rolleyes: your numbers look very convincing. that's why the franchise has only 3 parts so far and one of the most active communities. as i said i can't wait until the air clears when some people won't need something to kill time until dayz comes out anymore.

i feel a bit sorry for you though. seeing how you define the game, never ever seeing the great gameplay a lot of people have with their friends/clans in a non public manner. but i guess there's a reason those sessions aren't publicly accessible...

Can you show us where the stats/reports are that say that's actually the trend.... Because I always thought A3 is the main event. And just quietly most of the crying and tantrums seemed to have come from the opposite direction, as it usually does when ever it feels threatened, they want to keep Arma under lock and key as only they know how it should be played :j:

Its not about that mod or the other. I enjoyed playing dayz and wastlend in their more early stages.

People don't hate them for raising arma's popularity, they resent them because of the attitude.

Way back when Arma 3 videos were first being posted there was a metric ton of dayZ spam and people thinking they were cute trolls by calling it dayZ specifically. Then there was the server issue wherein there were so many dayZ servers that they blotted out all other non private ones. Then you have the attitude that they believe "they" 'saved' the arma series and that arma 3 (despite being announced well before) would not exist without dayZ, purposely calling Arma 2 DayZ and instead of Arma 2 Chernarus it's "DayZ's Chernarus"

Then they came to arma in teamkilling and griefing droves, crying about arma 2's patches breaking dayZ, demanding Arma 2 changes to better benefit the mod, then you have people like this http://www.thezombieinfection.com/index.php?/topic/9-vip-status and-packages/ and in its wake BI had to post a monetization plan after everyone and their cousin decided that dayZ would be the next video series whore for youtube.

I can't blame people for having sour feelings about them.

Yes i agree, is he convinced yet?

Personally I never seen the point on threads like this, i mean what would you normally do before you buy a game?

You would read about the reviews in any forum related, watch video reviews of the game, look at screenshots, watch gameplay videos, and get a demo if there is one,

and then sit on it for a week and let all the info sink in.

After about a week if your not convinced then move on, if you are then you should have some excitement for the game.

A game is an investment of your money at least once, and your time and energy, so doing your homework and doing research thinking for yourself and not

viewing only one persons review, or companies review, but getting a well rounded view, you need to see both sides of the fence,

if a game doesn't resonate with you then obviously its not for you.

After all the research you should know if the game is right for you and if you want it, so whats to figure out.

arma is a good game that needs some development direction. the attacks on me for giving my honest opinion. the ""Author"" of the post wanted opinions about the game. i gave him mine. i would like to warn him of the issues that affect me and lots of others. just do your homework on the game. i have a arma 3 lite i will give him if he wants , but i dont think it has mp though . i dont expect a fully polished game in alpha but the responses i have seen from the devs regarding some of the issues , dont give me hope. look at there first response on the hacking issue going on right now. and look at the response about this games poor optimization.
