OMAC

Community interest in Rearmed for ArmA 3 (integration of A2 and OA content with A3)

Recommended Posts

PuFu, mind you, OMAC has given to this community quite a lot already and deserves not to receive such sarcastic comments such as this one.

Awesome news! thanks for the headsup keycat!

i wasn't being sarcastic here. it was a genuine question with no pun intended, towards omac or anyone else

Now theres a new thread title 'How much would you pay for an official tool to import A2/OA into A3 ?'

I think for a nominal fee £4.99 then that would be worth it for the content right ?

Hello there

I would stretch to a fiver/tenner if I had to, but would rather not have to pay again. If there was no official merge or it was highly priced, I'd personally stick to "regular" mods or wait for a community effort.

Mind you, that official approach may itself be the DLC... but hey, you'll pay it won't you? ;)

I would. DLC is not evil or a crime. If I feel the content is worth the price, and its not something that was withheld from the game to be sold separately (ie. day 1 DLC) I would buy it.

Considering that putting the ArmA2 pbo's in ArmA3 works okayish and would need mostly minor config fixes, I would pay about 0.

Mind you, there was no evidence that BI was ever going to include past Arma content (islands, weapons, uniforms, vehicles, etc.) much less change their minds and somehow lock it behind a DLC wall... so we can't hold that against BI. ;) I do agree that DLC isn't inherently evil or a crime, but a company can arrange it in a way that's advantageous for the customer (in a content-per-dollar way) or not, so that the worthiness of a DLC should be decided on the merits, hence the seeming talk of a nominal fee for existing owners -- and of course, for those who got onboard with Arma 3, the purchase of Arma 2, OA and/or the OA DLC packs. If anything, the 'value' in paying for such a DLC (besides "support the devs") seems to be in getting an officially supported import method and maybe some work from BI's end on cleaning up things so that we don't get some of the glitches we've seen so far with imported content.

Arma 2s weapons vehicles and uniforms in Arma 3 quality? Yes!

But pls only after the rest of the game is finished!

Or in hands with the community!

The game is allready huge and we have to take into account that the devs ahve limited recources.

But the community is eager to help where they can i bet=)

I'd love to see this. Like many other folks said: as long as this doesn't take time away from A3 development for the BIS team I am all for it
