Too much muzzle flash and reload animations?

Recommended Posts

I'm not talking about a video camera, I'm talking about my D5100. Just set it on a tripod, use my remote with the camera set to bulb mode and fire a shot while the shutter is open to see the muzzle flash.

Oh, ok that will work.

I think muzzle flashes looks too big. I think it should look like just a tiny splash at the end of the barrel every 3 shots generating lots of light and some sparks(i saw some amazing sparks at bis screens).

Just make sure you bring as much muzzle device with you as well, after all some people still cannot understand the concept that muzzle flash change depend on design

Back from the range. :)

AR-15 with FMJ rounds, it's all I had. The pictures are so grainy because there was absolutely no lights used. Had to edit in Photoshop RAW to see anything. These were of course with the flash hider. I might go back once I figure out how I can get it off, if I can. Maybe even take my old shotgun next time and see the muzzle flash from that thing.

I just hope BIS make it so you can't reload a AT, Javelin at super human speeds or load any LMG super fast either.

In that other game FPDR you had to drop the AT on the ground to load a new rocket, plus hopefully Javelin assembly that would be awesome.

No more magic assembly BIS!

If it works in similar fashion to the G3A3 just rotate the flash hider clockwise and it will get off.

Agreed....I'd also LOVE to be able to SELECT either direct or top-down while using the Javelin!! And a proper firing animation is due as well IMO. CoD4 I think did a good job of the animation in the SP story were you are using it to fire at the armor moving over the bridge. It pops out, THEN fires the main booster and climbs.

Also, I'm a little ignorant here I admit, but do all the RPG/missile systems in the game actually have reloads as an option IRL? The AT4/M136 is a single shot disposable IIRC, are any of the others?

You kidding? The missile goes directly vertical after about 1 metre of unassisted flight.

The Mando mod for A2 has got the best representation of the Javelin that I've seen. You can do top-down or direct as well as ground attack.

ACE is far better. Realistic fire modes (Top and direct) AND realistic locking (Zoom + FLIR), unlike mando's TAB shoot.

Hi, for what i've seen lately... i think that the problem that the problem is not if the muzzle flash is too big; i think that the problem is more likely that it's too solid.

About the reload anims... i hope that they, this time... make the dispossable weapons dispossable so only drop anims for 'em; about the MGs etc... just better anims. The problem with this ones is also related in a way with the ballistics IMO, if the bullets only have vertical drop between 100 to 600m you can forget about make every bullet count and choose wisely when, where and how to fire; because it wouldn't be that important at all... the dispersion would follow the same path, no wind deviation, bullet drop only up to range (beyond that, the bullet/shell or whatever [and it's effects] dissapear). I wouldn't reload a M249 after each 25 shots if i know that i could get a kill with each 5 shots on a 100rnds bag or a 200rnds box. Let's C ya

Probably a good idea to not mess with the flash hider. But anyway, thanks for those pics. Very informative. I've also found my video of my night shoot, but too lazy to piece them together into a video that's not full of parts where we're just getting ready. Apparently the person shooting the video pretty much shot everything, lol.

Alright, alright, I stopped being lazy, I pieced together two clips of a few friends of mine and I shooting at night. The light you see downrange is from my truck's headlights. It was completely dark where we were. The guy on the very right is me, I'm shooting a DSA SA58 with a Phantom flash hider. The guy to my left is shooting a Springfield M1A with the standard flash hider, and the guy to his left is shooting an AR15 and I honestly cannot remember what muzzle device he is using. And I have no idea why it was shooting BLUE muzzle flash... His barrel length is 16" But as you can see, not a whole lot of muzzle flash. And before you say it's just the camera, that's exactly how much muzzle flash I remember seeing while I was shooting too, I know it wasn't some big ball of flame that destroyed my night vision and obstructed my view, I can tell you that much. And I'm sorry I don't have anyone without a muzzle device, but I do believe from the gameplay video that the weapon does appear to have some sort of muzzle device, so I think this is a fair comparison. Not to mention, my SA58 and the M1A are both firing 7.62x51mm rounds...

And heres a still from a video of me firing an vz.58 with no flash hider

sa58.jpg

Its video footage, so not ideal, but the first hand experience agrees with the size and brightness.

We also had one (vz.58) with a birdcage flash hider (not sure of the specifics) which reduced the flash to sizes more comparable with your video.

The quality of ammo you fire makes a big difference too.

Oh, and before there is any confusion, I'm sure you know the difference, but maybe others might not, but the SA58 I'm shooting is a civilian designation and isn't related to the SA 58 or VZ 58 you're referring to. Mine is like a civilian version of the FN FAL.

And one of the best state side FAL's at that.

Hah, I guess thats like M1's, so many different things with the same dang designation.

Anyho, yeah, so that pic is a vz.58, with no flash hider == big flash.

Yah, definitely bigger than an AR with no flash hider. I wonder if there's a difference between eastern and western weapons in that department...

I love mine, was kind of costly because I went all out and upgraded EVERYTHING, but I think it was worth it. The only thing I regret is that a few months after I got mine, they finally added a folding stock that also adjustable for length of pull. Man, I wanted that feature but it wasn't available when I ordered mine. But other than that, I basically just said yes to every upgrade possible to it. It has the speed trigger, the quad-rail handguard with a continuous rail on top, para model with the folding stock and the "sand cuts" on the bolt carrier, phantom flash hider, and I had them duracoat the whole thing. I had money back then and just felt like splurging, lol. Hey, girls buy overpriced purses and shoes, I bought high-end custom rifles and handguns, lol.

Damn, you even went with their duracoat camo options.

As for the buttstock, it isn't necessarily rocket science to install a new buttstock if you really want one, plus the adjustable folder you mentioned would be handy as I'm sure you can mount any M4 adjustable buttstock (give or take the spec on the buffer tube) on it.

Yah, I know I can change the buttstock on it, but then I'd have to have them duracoat it to match, lol. :-D You know, when I have the money, I would actually do that...
