GITS Evolution (new main thread)

yeah not quite updated as fully as i wanted but pretty close.

i just have too many missions on the go - about 40 now...

Hi there. Iam playing this with just 1-2 Friends and most of the time we have fun but also most of the time the fun ends when Su`s attack our base or Speznaz troops infiltrate everything.

Is the a way to disable the Base Attacks and/or Enemy Air Patrols?

If you look in the init.sqf you can find the groups that make the enemy air patrols. You could just turn them all into AN-2 colts or some other unarmed aircraft :) Also, if you change the location of the MHQ it can help divert some of the attacks because the AI will try to find the MHQ and spawn camp around it if it is available.

I'll add an option to turn off enemy planes and raiders

personally we love em as they stop you from getting complacent... spawns, finds an AS50 thermal, gets in A10, decimates enemy, lands, sits in base having a beer...

in our version you are ALWAYS on your guard.

you have to find ammo crates (up to 8) in each city at typical dayZ spawnhouses (enterable buildings) and return the items to the main ammo crates in base...

also the vehicles and planes and choppers have a varying probability of presence each restart, and they are scattered around the map...

think of it like DayZ without the beans, but with a lot more dying...

it's good training for DayZ as you have to recce the same loot spawn locations across the map... great training

Great concept for an Evo eggbeast. Are these A.I. faster movers than usual, or do need to drink more coffee?

couple of acr trucks not respawning - have fixed for next release

features that are working well:

revive

ACR weapons, units and vehicles

increased enemy count in early cities

new base with better anti-air protection (buildings) and base raider protection (gate hesco bags and MG's/ dingos etc)

fully working backpacks (using global settings so you can use each others' packs)

support sounds and rug_dsai arabic (+ our takistan environment sound) make for immersive gameplay

civs running about

range of 13 side missions all working

24 support options all working from marker smoke to nuke

Thanx for the updated mission very nice.

Have some problem with enemys in base and respawn. Enemy killing you before you respawn.

Needs some protection of respawn point in base, maybe respawn inside a building, or just some

sandbags around respawnpoint.

Hi there, i have a small problem.

Whenever i start a mission i get an error:

Script RUG_DSAI\RUG_DSAI_Init.sqf not found

In @RUG_DSAI\Addons i have: rug_dsai, rug_dsairus, rug_dsaieng, rug_dsaigen

I am loading the missions with the following mods:

@CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@RUG_DSAI;@BP_bloodScreen;@blazes_weapons;@Aircraft;@weapons;@CMSound_2.0;@CMsound_ChernarusEnvironment

Any help appriciated :)

which mission are you running? Takistan does not require aircraft or weapons, and i'd recommend rug_dsai with arab sound not russian and our takistan environment sound

if you're runningthe veteran (chernarus) then that's fine

the error is generic - if you don't run rug_dsai on the server then you get this error at join. it has no effect on the game.

we don't run it on server so we all get it on ours... no problems though

on spawnraping - we have upgraded the takistan base to reduce this, it still makes sense to park a few useful APC's and trucks near to respawn point...

Will give the modded versions a go once our server reaches the data center in about a week or so. About Evolution Takistan +ACR. The client crashes to desktop if spectate camera switches view or player after death. Also, the server froze once and AI ran in place for a minute but then recovered. Later It froze a second time and never recovered. That may be a problem with the newly released Linux beta server binary and not the mission. Still waiting on a stable binary release from BI. The new fortifications at main base are a great addition to Taskistan as there has always been a problem getting killed upon respawn. Thanks again for the great games and fine releases.

@jigsor, it doesn't crash on our linux box. latest linux beta (sticky thread) and all runs smooth so far.

edit: yesterday was a newer beta released...not tested with that version yet tho.

Bugs/feedback

It's working ok at the moment - seems to run fine - smooth and fast except for the 12 death bug thing we have (just needs a reconnect, so protect your life!)

Ammo crate needs a little refining - works best on unlocked at present (ranked is a temporary mess - was keen to release this asap for working out best weapons to keep)

vilas weapons - need to go through the patch to stop client crashes (e.g. with SV98/ RPG29)

have edited our blazes/GDThelicopterweapons to include the mi24 krokodil and add TV camera gun, laser desi and laserlock missiles to the ka52, mi24, mi28 etc - all working reasonably well, but needs a bit of a tweak

map update is still bugged since last patch (and damage from buildings with JIP players) - will explore this and fix

need to workarounf RHS snorkels so they work in ovaron rivers (currently the rivers are too deep)

adding sharks to water

need to fix su24 afterburner

no enemies seen driving about yet in chenowth or vilas M113?

fixed minor ammo config bugs

uparmed all planes significantly (countermeasures and AA missiles - using full range from GLT missilebox)

removed civs driving down runway (health and safety!)

russian backpacks have russian ammo

added chemical weapon ammo for M32 GL (BD_40mm)

backpacks work on all russian units

removed lots of old scripts/sounds/images to reduce filesize

added new pickle intro with russian icons and inspirational MSV singing

optimised enemy units to reduce CDF elements

FIXED blazes_weapons now has integrated fixes for weapons based on TGW thermal and BD_40mm concepts and code. This is optional for mission. Toggle GITS MOD ON in the server parameters to put the custom ammo into the ammo crates

significantly reworked base so planes are at the right end of runway

load-tested with 8 co-op players vs 150+ enemy AI. played to end of map (11 cities) and most of the side missions checked and they work fine
