Hi Dead3yez

Since according to the supporters of the 1%ers and the bankers they would not contribute any way being so amaizing that they dont pay taxes even now and they have already taken trillions from the 99% on the promise that they fix capitalism which they have then failed to do; what loss would it be if they left?

To the 99% such none contributing people leaving are no loss whatsoever.

On the other hand those who are honest and hard working people who care about the social contract will contribute.

Consider it removing the trash.

Kind Regards walker

So, according to your logic, anyone who supports capitalism is a supporter of the 1%?

Really?

Also you seem to forget the fact that the 1% actually does contribute to the economy, through investment. We'd be worse off without their investments. This 1% doesn't refer to the laziest 1%, it refers to the wealthiest. Just because they are the richest doesn't mean they are parasites.

Not saying that they should stay as rich as they are, but the fact that you think we should just "get rid of them" shows that you know very little.

@walker:

Capitalism is a system of profit and loss. The system we have, in which private profits are made but losses are socialized by the government, is not capitalism. Capitalism has not failed; the government has failed by bailing out businesses that should have failed and would have under capitalism.

Which is why they should be marching on the Whitehouse.

But of course Obama is the second coming and has his black telfon shield to protect him.

Excellent post!

I posted some statistics from HM Revenue & Customs that shows the 1% pay around 24.1% of the total UK income tax collected each year. They also contribute through investment, enterprise and job creation. No doubt they also spend much of their income in the country they live in and pay VAT.

Walker's idea to just get rid of them fails to suggest how we would replace this huge loss of income. The economy would fail and we would all suffer. Who would open a business if the consequence of being too successful meant automatic deportation and confiscation of your assets? If most of the businesses closed, where would we work? He calls this defeatist nonsense which tells me he reads a little too much Lenin at bedtime.

We have also seen this policy at work in Marxist governments from Albania to Zimbabwe and look what happened to their economies? Zimbabwe is a complete disaster and Albania will take years to recover. I suggest Walker visits Zimbabwe on his next holiday so he can see for himself what happens when flawed ideology is put into practice. If he thinks we are suffering now, let him see people striping bark from trees because there is nothing else to eat.

Don't be silly, that would require walking the talk. Ain't gonna happen.

The conforts provided by Capitalism are just too good to give up, much easier to post on forums and holding a sign within Wi-fi range of a Starbucks.

Well not that i disagre with you but there are a number of solutions to that problem,

1. Write the biggest number you can think of, then walk into the next room and tell the next guy this is what your worth.

2. Tax everybody else to cover the cost.

Thing is it doesn't work when nobody is prepared to lie to you ie Zimbawe, and Albania.

Why would we want to tax them more?

We are trying to attract more of these people, not scare them away.

As I said before, things are the way they are because it's actually more profitable for the 1% to hoard money by ripping off the 99% than to make money by investing in legitimate businesses. We need to make investment profitable again.

There is no need to introduce socialism and high taxes to redistribute the wealth. The free market will do that on its own... as the 1%ers invest their money, wages will rise, businesses will grow and the bottom 99% will get richer. We need to create wealth, not redistribute it.

Also we need to fix the investment rating system... the current economic clusterfuck is their fault too. S&P, Moody's... they are all corrupt.

Where do they get the money to finance their walk?

You can walk for nothing :)

In any case, the protest is not about not owning property or not having a job or not having money, it's a protest about the huge institutions wrecking the economy. On this topic, rich and poor alike can be united.

They mentioned ferries and other stuff though, and I must assume that they need to eat/find a place to stay during the nights.

Well, yes you're right, but if my post didn't answer anything then I'm not getting what you're getting at... :)

good to hear they're going to washington, political pressure on the president is excellent, though I don't see him doing anything. They need to do this every time there is a state of the union or a big event so the conversation has the protesters in the backdrop (figuratively, and perhaps literally)

Wall street is still very important, since you can't undo 40+ years of a corporate takeover of goverment, you should start where the problem is to keep the message focused, not where the "slaves" are, if you will.

They should just drive there.

Walking isn't proving a point, other than being retarded.

Lot better then sitting in tents smoking pot, crack and shooting heroine.

In Canada many of the sites are starting clean up their act because many people

who are true to the cause are getting fed up with the confrontational crowd

and their hangers on.

Guess they looked up the meaning of "useful idiot" and the meaning of the red and black flags around them.

Now it's just a wait and see if they have the balls to challenge the White house

and the not duck for cover when they see the second comings black face.

I think I'm going to start calling you Golden Bollocks, seeing as you post the most bigoted, repetitive, judgemental shit and yet when the thread inevitably collapses around you, you remain unblemished. That's a special gift.

I think the opposite is true. You might be able to undo 40+ years of corporate takeover of the government by limiting the power of the government, but you're never going to undo the propensity for people on Wall Street (and people in general) to try to use government power to their advantage.
