walker 0 Posted October 5, 2011 (edited) Hi all Dust storms are on the increase in the US Mid West. Sparking fears that Global Warming is destroying the once prosperous Mid West, as well as increased Hurricanes, annual brush fires and Tornadoes and that the US is already suffering; is it once again to be inflicted with a biblical Drought like that which created the 1930s Dust Bowl? In Arizona a Dust storm like something out of a Movie has caused massive Pile-ups: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-15179511 In Oklahoma Drought is destroying US farms: http://www.odl.state.ok.us/usinfo/maps/dustbowl/index.htm In Texas the aquifers are running dry ending decades of farming: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/8359076/US-farmers-fear-the-return-of-the-Dust-Bowl.html The US Drought warning is growing day be day: http://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/ It seems that like in the thirties the US is set for another decade of The Grapes of Wrath. maddogx 13 Posted October 5, 2011 Ah, found it. Harold Camping predicted that the world will end on October 21st. (Since it didn't end on May 21st, which was his last prediction.)
celery 8 Posted October 5, 2011 2012 is in a couple of months, wasn't all this foretold? VanhA-ICON 11 Posted October 5, 2011 The Mayans just couldn't be assed to write their calendar any further than that, and the rest of the world takes it as a sure sign of the apocalypse. Actually they continued the calendar with the first ever version including pin up girls but the spanish confiscated them.

maturin 12 Posted October 5, 2011 As I understand it, the Dust Bowl was just a short term anomaly, and partially man-made. The reality is that the American colonization of the West occurred during an abnormally wet climatic period. Things are now returning to "normal."
jakerod 254 Posted October 5, 2011 I would just like to point out that none of the states you mentioned are really in the Midwest. I live in the Midwest as well. I have yet to see a duststorm. That and my uncles are farmers and I have heard nothing about it from them. Perhaps further west though. It may just not be affecting this area.

mosh 0 Posted October 7, 2011 (edited) The answer is no. I live in the midwest. Once again, your posting and quoting things you know nothing about and you should learn which states are even in the midwest before posting such things. It hasn't been an unusually wet summer like last year but certainly no drought. I am here right now. I know. EDIT - Hi allWhat comes of following the false prophets of the Tea Party and the Anti Christ Palin. Regards walker Thanks for your completely unnecessary and way off topic political views. Please keep them to yourself or in an appropriate topic. maturin 12 Posted October 7, 2011 For the record, the West is faced with a mounting water supply and drought crisis, beyond simple resource depletion. Walker, please stop attaching your negative credibility to the problem. I don't want people around here to start believing everything is fine out of spite. walker 0 Posted October 7, 2011 (edited) Hi To Darkhorse The Grapes of Roth? FPDR Thank you for the spell Check! Fixed. In this the first decade of the 21st century the US from the Midwest to the Rocky Mountains has suffered exceptional Droughts, floods, tornadoes, Hurricanes etc. Even states like Florida and Mississippi are suffering Drought as is California. That Texas is suffering drought is to be expected it has been that way for a long time. If you were of a religious frame of mind and believed in God it can all be attributed to: Hi allWhat comes of following the false prophets of the Tea Party and the Anti Christ Palin. Regards walker Which is exactly as valid as any other imaginary friend argument. By the way I am not of a religious frame of mind! Drought has nothing to do with an imaginary friend character but as people were raising the imaginary friend argument I thought I would show how it works :) However the fact that Drought is returning to so many US states from the Mid West to the Rockies including Missouri, Arkansas, the Carolinas, Kentuky, and even parts of Louisiana, Tennessee, southeast Iowa and northern Illinois, in the first decade of this century; as well as California would seem to indicate additional climactic problems in the US. Drought is even going as far North as Canada. On the Matter of the Dust Bowl and the Grapes of Wrath, I find it interesting that like in the thirties, there is a confluence of drought and a Stock crash and depression but only interesting in that it is once again causing America to reenact the darkest days of the great Depression. Will places like Hoover-ville once again exist in America? Kind Regards walker Edited October 8, 2011 by walker
mosh 0 Posted October 7, 2011 So end or world prophecy Mayans & 2012 were on topic in this thread? No. Most of these threads go so off topic it's not even funny. I don't believe in fairy tales anyways.
