bussinrounds 10 Posted July 18, 2011 I got this guy in another forum telling me that Raven Shield is a product of Ubisoft and not Red Storm Entertainment. The wiki lists both as developers - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Clancy%27s_Rainbow_Six_3:_Raven_Shield I always tell ppl that once UBI started making the games, instead of Red Storm Entertainment, the series went down the tubes. So what's the truth about Raven Shield and the whole series, in terms of the developers ? Was Raven Shield co-developed ? Well, IMHO they still got the AC series on a good cause so far and SC Conviction wasnt bad either (totally different from the old ones though). Personally i dont hold my breath for the next GRAW or R6 though. Seems that all titles are slowly drawn into the CoD run&gun style genre, with dumbed down features. Wasn't disappointed one bit ... then yes, it turned to crud.The only thing I ever really wanted was RVS with maybe some updated eye candy, a few planning map improvements and features and the AI stacking ability/skill of SWAT4 .. the release of full SDK and we would have been happy for years. EDIT ... haven't been looking for a long time but I see the RVS 2 mod does some improvements which is available contrary to the UBI stopping it reports. Get some kill box maps in too, should be fun playing all this again, always rated the audio (never shut up about it when I get a chance). Then see if anyone is in MP anymore. The wiki lists both as developers - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Clancy%27s_Rainbow_Six_3:_Raven_Shield I always tell ppl that once UBI started making the games, instead of Red Storm Entertainment, the series went down the tubes. So what's the truth about RavenShield and the whole series, in terms of the developers ? Was Raven Shield co-developed ? I find it hard to believe that UBIsuck had anything to do with this excellent game. Red Storm Entertainment sold their company to Ubisoft. Ravenshield is the first game that was made after this. Some members of the old staff at Red Storm moved into Ubisofts games factory, but the core programmers retired. Hence the game changed to the Unreal engine, not their own. The members that stayed with RedStorm after it became part of Ubisoft were nto however the brains of the outfit, they had been game testers etc at Redstorm during the development of R6 and Ghost Recon, not programmers. The game series in my opinion also took a massive dive at this time. Looking back on it though, Ravenshield was still a pretty decent game. I still play R6 Vegas a bit.
