liquidpinky 11 Posted July 15, 2011 (edited) I seem to have suffered the opposite from the other testers, I have now lost all engine sound with the 82767 version and had suffered no sound problems with the previous version. XD The instruments are starting to look more like the thing now. What about using each helis own individual instruments for the HUD, that would make it a little more individual between the helicopter models? The digital displays above the dials could show the scaled values like kmh and metres etc. Edited July 15, 2011 by Liquidpinky
Alex72 1 Posted July 15, 2011 No problems with engine sound here. It was gone in the previous build but is back now and seems to work well. Also the helicopter feels much better now. More power and easier to control therefor. :) The overlay HUD lines in the AI need to be a bit thicker i think. At 1920x1080 they break up because they are so thin. Especially when banking. Can barely see them. Maybe connected to AA. Didnt test that. But they look good apart from that. Hard stutter still there when in the heli. Hope you guys find out where its coming from. -DirTyDeeDs--Ziggy- 0 Posted July 15, 2011 The new sounds are better. Can I suggest bolder whites lines on the analogue Attitude indicator? Handling while using manual trim felt easier to control, but not listed in changelog, placebo effect? *my feedback was ninjad!
Alex72 1 Posted July 15, 2011 (edited) HUD overlay wind arrow could maybe get a color change depending on wind strength? Tested it with calm and full storm but no way of seeing how hard the winds are. Could be very good for those that are learning. +1 on the sounds. :) Also there is some sound now when banking hard etc (stress to airframe?). Sounds a little like my guy is putting on and taking off his seatbelt. :D Very good update BIS. Although im not a pilot i notice its much funnier to fly now. Good work. EDIT: Stutter. I just noticed that when i entered as co-pilot the stutter is gone! The mirror is still enabled (PiP) but the stutter is long gone. Please BIS find whats causing this. jumpinghubert 49 Posted July 15, 2011 (edited) -the new seat-sounds are nice, give immersion. -less stuttering for me (editor, utes) -good new helisounds -still significant lower fps inside the new heli (22fps inside, 44fps outside same direction of view (utes)) "Joystick deadband filter removed - note, this doesn't address the deadzone issue, which is being worked on separately." what means "deadband filter"? thanks for the new update! EagleEye-GER- 0 Posted July 15, 2011 Yeah, I like the new sounds to. But, what happened to Torque-Induced Yaw? In the first CPs that effect was there, now its gone?

OMAC 254 Posted July 16, 2011 (edited) Beta 82767: Sounds are great, lightness/maneuverability feel right, fun to fly on Veteran (kb/mouse). But crash on exit after loading saved game is still there. Dumps sent to Dwarden. Loading saves is strange too - you get the ToH logo and clouds overlain on the screen, and have to hit Esc to get rid of them. Haven't checked out hud yet. Overall, great job! -------------------------------------- Edit: Holding rotor brake after setting throttle to idle on landing doesn't have much, if any, effect. No apparent sound change, either. Should it be applied only after setting throttle to off? Edited July 17, 2011 by OMAC
MissionCreep 12 Posted July 16, 2011 (edited) I can't get out of the helicopter after the initial take off. For example, I can get in and out of the helicopter through the Action Menu->"Get Out" before take off. But after a few seconds of flight, the "Get out" option disappears. If I land, I can no longer leave the helicopter and walk around on the ground. I also lose engine sound a few seconds into engine startup. I'm running 82503. I love flying over all the maps! I've done brief test flights over Utes, Chenarus, Shapur, Zagrabad, Takistan, Proving Grounds, Desert_E, Lingor, Duala, Necro, Namalsk, Panthera2, Quesrsh-Kibrul, Sbrodj, Capria, Unsung Lowlands and Unsung S.E.A. EMann 10 Posted July 16, 2011 82767 very nice! So far i Like the new sounds for both start-up and frame stress, ground effect is better i think?-feels toned down from previous update, overall FM is very nice, really enjoying this one. I haven't tried the dodo's addon to FSX, but this FM in it's current form is on par if not better than anything i've tried in other civilian heli sims eg FS2004 and FSX (nemeth designs FM's full realistic settings etc). Congrats BI, been waiting for a game like this for some time now, looking forward to the final release! Keep-up the great work. *I hope there will be mobile landing pad missions, yacht/train?
OMAC 254 Posted July 16, 2011 Uninstalled then installed a version I downloaded again and everything works fine. :)I now have the markers on the toggle switches for the first time ever too now. This is worrisome - it shows that an install can get quite messed up. Do you know what messed up the install? Did you uninstall previous beta first?
liquidpinky 11 Posted July 16, 2011 This is worrisome - it shows that an install can get quite messed up. Do you know what messed up the install? Did you uninstall previous beta first? I just installed as per the method in the instructions as always, unistall old beta and then install new one. Might explain why the sound was okay for me in the previous beta also, the others could have had a bad install or I got lucky.

boneboys 0 Posted July 16, 2011 This is indeed a mystery... I lost my sound with the previous release, it is now working, with the latest preview build. X-Fi Gamer, as said before. Probably a Library affair.
twisted 128 Posted July 17, 2011 this new release is very good - nice sound and the analogue instruments are real easy to read (well the one that shows how how aligned the heli is to the horizon is still sorta hard to read). managed to fly around and land twice without crashing which was pretty damn nice. just need that deadzone to be reduced or eliminated but i did feel joystick was a bit more responsive. awesome work. oh, and the autopilot can right a helicopter almost upside down going in a death dive. should it really be that effective? OMAC 254 Posted July 17, 2011 (edited) I played on Expert, landed perfectly, had fun, but could see no difference with Veteran other than no exterior view, no on-screen extended hud info, etc.. Edited July 17, 2011 by OMAC
Angle 10 Posted July 17, 2011 Freelook interaction with the throttle is not very good. If there is two options in the same place can they please be spaced out so they can be used.
PELHAM 10 Posted July 17, 2011 Build 82767 is working well for me. Sound is good, graphics look better and most importantly it's flyable!
Gnome_AS 10 Posted July 17, 2011 Well I have to say, 82767 finally got my attention. I really wasn't sure what to think with the initial releases, but alas my faith has been found once again. Sound improvements are very nice. Especially like knowing the seat belt is keeping me firmly attached to the seat. Some additional layering of metal stressing types sounds might be nice. Flight model is starting to feel good also. Torque and ground effect related things seem much more balanced, realistic. Deadzone removal will be great. Although with a slight boost in sensitivity to the controls, its somewhat decent right now. Really looking forward to some sort of airframe stress features and whatnot. Loops, inverted flight and brake turns are fun and all, but meh.. not really conducive to the more realistic flight model concept. The tweakage on the contact points was great though, aircraft actually sits down like its on skids. Will for sure put some more time in now, maybe provide some more specific feedback. Flying the powerlines in an under/over pattern on Zargabad is fun and challenging. Great work BIS guys, making a believer out of me. :)
OMAC 254 Posted July 18, 2011 Hud looks great. Noticed that there is no option menu item for autotrim in Regular difficulty as well as Veteran - interesting. I was able to exit without crash several times after loading a newly-saved game! Always overwrite saves from old betas - never use old saves! After you land, shutdown everything (throttle off), and get out, the copter is still making a turbine sound. What is that?
bobocz 10 Posted July 18, 2011 (edited) Rain bug is seems to be gone, that's great. I really like third virtual gauge with lift force, it's really handy for me. In this build helicopter is not so wild for me, either I get to used to it or flight model is changed from last build. I like how helicopter hover near ground its seems to be more similar to first build. New sound is nice, I like it, but environment sound can be still heard inside helicopter, its odd when bird chirp is louder then rotor :). kylania 568 Posted July 18, 2011 After you land, shutdown everything (throttle off), and get out, the copter is still making a turbine sound. What is that? Never gotten that far. I've only ever explosively crashed, totally unable to fly this thing. :( I just don't get it.
