gonk 0 Posted May 18, 2011 When this (arma3.com) was online it clearly stated. And BIS stated with ARMA2 that there will be self generating urban area's and forests after the end of the real map... guess what... BIS sometime tells porkies... they are only human... :).. no more troll food for you...
OB1 10 Posted May 18, 2011 Seeing this company (Bohemia Interactive) is from Czech Republic in Europe and created ArmA 2 at their place, I see no reason why they should have obligated themself to the US Patent and Trademark Office at the time. There could be several reason why this title wasn't issued in the US prior or soon after the release. I dont think anyone believes you...... dam spy's...

maddogx 13 Posted May 18, 2011 Promises about features is one thing, legal matters is another. At the time the old arma3.com site was up, its whois entry also had no mention of Bohemia Interactive. For all we know a friend of one of the devs was holding it for them, in which case it really was just a "fansite" with no official affiliations to Bohemia. I'm still open for ArmA 3, but from what I see at the moment I believe otherwise. Either way, we'll know tomorrow at 15:30 (CEST I guess?) Take a look to the certificate :) That is certainly interesting though. :) But CA? Edited May 18, 2011 by colossus

Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (EU Trademark Agency) Once again please read: Filing Date: 02/06/2006 Armed Assault was first announced around 5/16/2005 So once again, just because a copyright isn't filed, doesn't mean the game can't be in development ;)
maddogx 13 Posted May 18, 2011 So much for "killing the myth of Arma3", ey Colossus? ;) If it really is Arma3, you're never gonna live that one down. :D (Of course if it isn't, tomorrow you get to point your finger at all of us and laugh maniacally all day long.) Well I did say "hope", didn't I? ^^ I'm still going to stick to my own conclusion (I'm just stubborn), as I and everyone else are free to do. And I guess the pointing of fingers is mutual. :p Edited May 18, 2011 by colossus typo

Boomer -vLLBrig31- 10 Posted May 18, 2011 Maybe i've missed it but is there any given time when the announcement will be made?
.Taffy 10 Posted May 18, 2011 I am now convinced this is building up to an announcement for ArmA 3! (Perhaps with an expansion to fill the wait) If tomorrow's annoucnement also includes Outerra in the feature's list my VINDICATION will be complete! Haha! krazikilla 5 Posted May 18, 2011 Havnt read anything but i hope it has something to do with: Arma3 Outerra Physic Engine Total destroyable buildings and enviroment like in good ol Red Faction, or Soldner. :D

WackyIraqi 2 Posted May 18, 2011 Havnt read anything but i hope it has something to do with:Arma3 Outerra ... Shocking. The outerra posts are still rolling in. I guess it hasn't clicked into everyone's head's yet that the shear amount of work required to port everything ArmA2 has into Outerra (or vice-versa) would take years [to reach a playable state like current ArmA2]. krazikilla 5 Posted May 18, 2011 Shocking,.. that i dont have time to read all thousends of posts :(
dmarkwick 261 Posted May 18, 2011 I'm not interested in the hysterical levels of presuppositions and wishful thinkings, but quite clearly the Outerra references are nothing but internally generated fantasies :) My guess would be a new ArmA derivative with a revamped engine. Same engine, but revamped, in the same way that Armed Assault was the OFP engine revamped.

Up until a short while ago posts about Arma 3 were widely met with that same response. It would not be wrong to say the the current engine is probably pushing the very limits of its abilities, it wouldn't be surprising that BIS went for an overhall. Meanwhile Outerra is planned to include the sort of capabilities that Arma would need. It is a mil sim, not just and infantry sim, so the massive potential of the Outerra engine would make it a more complete simulation. Which would increas it's saleability massively in the real money winning market...the Military. Yes it's speculation but that's all that's left to do right now. pbishop 10 Posted May 18, 2011 One day they are going to have to kill that engine and move on. Because your statement concludes that arma 2 still has the same engine as OFP but revamped. Pointless to keep moving down the same road. Eventually there is nothing new you can do with it.

I find it odd thay you never hear such complaints in the CoD community, while that was based on the quake3 engine which is older than god. Everything can be improved, i see no reason to throw all the old stuff away.
