Kristian 47 Posted April 11, 2011 Fellow ArmA players, I have discovered the point of this thread, and I have asked world leading scientists to help me on this one, so look closelly at the following: Mouse > Console Controller Heaters gonna heat

MissionCreep 12 Posted April 11, 2011 (edited) Geeze ... if the someone says the like to use a jerryrigged banana as a controller because they find it suits them best, so let them use a jerryrigged banana. Sabots gonna Sabot? In France its "Saboteurs gonna Sabot":) Edited April 11, 2011 by MissionCreep

Bananas > keyboards > eggsbox£360 controller. Apes gonna ape.
mrcash2009 0 Posted April 11, 2011 This thread shows that no one is going to be converted any-time soon into this control for player, and that the OFP has now proven he can play the game with the controller of which it still doesn't convert anyone but does show he likes it. So, I wonder the point of it all now anyway? Do we get a prize and free delivery of a controller for best post?

mrcash2009 0 Posted April 11, 2011 OP asked for opinions, opinions were given. That was the point of the thread. Read the OP I dont see it, and I was referring to the topic title. What I meant was, where can it go from here.
ChiefBoatsRet 10 Posted April 11, 2011 Very few threads are really looking for answers. As in rl, we just like to hear ourselves talk, I myself am a lifelong pontificator.
TenBensons 10 Posted April 12, 2011 I play kb/ mouse but have recently started to use the 360 controller, im still a bit clunky with more advanced commands (no more than when i was playing CWC for the first time all those years ago), but i still find it highly enjoyable to use. For now at least....
cjph 0 Posted April 12, 2011 Got me thinking - I wonder how a keyboard/mouse on an Xbox/PS3 etc would work and/or be used if there were a console version of Arma2 ? Back on topic, I did get OFP Elite to run on my old Xbox before Christmas, and after several hours I had to give up as I'm just too locked into the keyboard layout, despite playing many, many hours of Doom3. Old dog, new tricks and all that. cj

mrcash2009 0 Posted April 12, 2011 (edited) There you go. You win, you get a free 360 controller, have fun.Anyway as topic title suggests I dont think there is mounting evidence of any converters here, much as I applaud anyone to find 360 better that the keyboard n mouse. Would have to say though that for flying its great. Edited April 12, 2011 by mrcash2009

kremator 1065 Posted April 12, 2011 YouTube that match please so we can put this to rest. Let's face it, even if the controller wins I won't be rushing out to buy one. My money is on the LPB and mouse/keyboard. (LPB is low ping bas}#%^ in case someone asks)
Infam0us 10 Posted April 12, 2011 Is this match going to happen then?
liquidpinky 11 Posted April 13, 2011 Just for the record, I use an xbox controller and mouse and tend to score consistently in the top three during my clan matches, the only people who get close whore vehicles and I am doing all my killing on foot. Usually with an Enfield and RPG7. This game isn't primarily a twitch shooter and is more about spotting your enemy before they spot you, then making the right shot. It is more skill based than reaction based play. Using a controller isn't really a disadvantage, aiming with the right stick would be though. There is no replacement for the mouse. Well, maybe a tracking ball.
BasileyOne 10 Posted April 13, 2011 Mouse + keyboard wins every time. can't say better. just point 4 btn to "free look"[you wont need TrackIF or FreeTrack anymore !! :P] and 5 btn to "zoom in". esp true for 1000Hz mouses with resolutions above 3000DPI and decent responsivity[on sudden movements]. liquidpinky 11 Posted April 13, 2011 can't say better.just point 4 btn to "free look"[you wont need TrackIF or FreeTrack anymore !! :P] Free Look isn't the same as Freetrack or TrackIR. For starters free look locks your aim rotation to a low angle while ADS and free look, whereas trackIR or freetrack don't as you retain all your movement. If you have one try it. ;) Also while you are in freelook and not ADS you can't turn your head and body at the same time independently of each other. Head tracking is far more intuitive than just some mouse replacement, if it did little more than just a free look then I wouldn't have bothered getting one.
