topas 1 Posted April 5, 2011 Will surely check the topic from time to time too. I'm eager to see some more detailed info on the specific period/location/belligerents. A2 engine should handle such kind of warfare quite nicely. Fingers crossed!

Great news! Ya we saw the OFP version and one of our members told us about it. I for one never played the mod nor own OFP so I can't really look in to it. Still thanks for the tip and support :D Edited April 5, 2011 by TankGun

dialektiikka 10 Posted April 6, 2011 An interesting idea for a mod. Are you planning any AI modifications for this, so that mass charges will be possible? I have to see if I can dig up any helpfull archive links for maps etc. for you people :) Meanwhile, this may be useful: World War I from above

Enigma85 2 Posted April 6, 2011 (edited) Any idea's on how your going to deal with the trenches as of yet? Or the act of 'going over the top' (climbing from the trench into no mans land? I wish you the best of luck with this project and hope you do the conflict justice :) WW1 was a awful waste of life on all fronts and the way those men died for literally inches of advance was terrible. I really hope you convey the horror and brutal nature of the war :) Edited April 7, 2011 by XxEnigmAxX
Aqu 0 Posted April 6, 2011 This sounds very interesting. I'm really looking forward to this. You don't happen to have any teasers for us? ;) Don't forget to model a football so that we can have a match at no mans land in christmas 1914 :p

Hurby 0 Posted April 7, 2011 In case you really get this going, I have an almost finished Albatros D.III addon in several camouflages. I haven't really done much work on it in the last year, but I'm probably going to finish it and release as a stand-alone, so if you want to incorporate it later into the mod, I'm okay with it. http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/9264/arma2oa2011040714174992.png http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/3403/arma2oa2011040714173591.png http://img852.imageshack.us/img852/1139/arma2oa2011040714162705.png http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/2483/arma2oa2011040714144789.png http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/16/arma2oa2011040714250206.png http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/6580/arma2oa2011040714284874.png Regardless of your decision, good luck with the mod ;)
abs 2 Posted April 7, 2011 Any idea's on how your going to deal with the trenches as of yet? One idea could be custom animations on a ladder object. Make an invisible ladder with an anim that plays relatively quickly and puts you high enough over the trench object. Add a few variations, and it should look organic enough. Make an invisible ladder with an anim that plays relatively quickly and puts you high enough over the trench object. Add a few variations, and it should look organic enough.Abs That is one way, however not all animations would be quick as not all guys climbed out at the same speed as the man next to him. But yes that does sound like a good idea for us to look in to. However first we need a map with trenches on them and large ones at that seeing as how moving in tight spaces in ARMA seems to mess up some times or the player gets stuck. And to everyone else thank you for the support and best wishes ^_^

But yes that does sound like a good idea for us to look in to. When I said quick, I meant quicker than the current ladder animation...and I mentioned doing a few to keep it looking natural. ;) Just expanding on my previous comments.
