Chechen War Russians

Recommended Posts

John Сage, you really think that Russian Army look like this in 1995?

Friend, i think that English is not your native language and I hope you didn't mean to sound rude.

Johncage has done some amazing work in a short space of time and his units make me want to play as the 'rooskies' right now!

If you have some information to help improve his work then he seems very willing to listen from what I've read.

Btw John, brilliant stuff!

I see you got the three hole balaclava to work, they're looking even better now. Keep up the good work. :)

John. Do some guys with the winter collar, the Ssh68 helmet (cover and without) and a plain 6B5 with the ammo pouches on the front. Like these chaps.

These guys look pretty badass, I appreciate the variation you're putting into them.

yeah i should include more collars, but the problem with collar is that the original model has too little vertices near the neck area. changing it messes up uv and weighs.

i've experimented with this method for the moment:

collar2m.jpg

and yeah i probably went overboard with the balaclava thing

As far as AKM tells me. Soldiers during the chechen campaign had more of those 6B5s with the pouches on the front of the vest itself rather than the rigging. Try an OD one of those.

Imho on the collars john, they look better downward as thats where they sit when then are attached to the winter jacket.

Really neat stuff John! I think you should try out some Shadow and Reed patterns for representing OMON (1995) in Grozny. As well as the V-95 and Grad vests. I need my urban FIX!

Great job though, keep it up.

i did a copy and paste job using the russian pilot texture. it still looks pretty bad up close. in the backview you can see the collar sort of clips into the back. anyone know how the weighing works in oxygen 2? i just see a bunch of percentages.

Russian Federation soldier in 1992. Note the Soviet insignia, as this was not long after the collapse of the USSR.
