cleggy 297 Posted January 14, 2011 John Сage, you really think that Russian Army look like this in 1995? Friend, i think that English is not your native language and I hope you didn't mean to sound rude. Johncage has done some amazing work in a short space of time and his units make me want to play as the 'rooskies' right now! If you have some information to help improve his work then he seems very willing to listen from what I've read. Btw John, brilliant stuff!

Gedis 0 Posted January 15, 2011 (edited) btw found some more reference, from our (lithuanian) stand for freedom, 1991 january events, which culminated on 13th - the blody sunday: WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT yhc-e4TjFL4 J1N4gpapwUo also check my signature P.S. i was near TV tower on 1991 01 14, i was 4 years old and i remember all of this! The roar of collums of tanks, bmds, btrs and trucks rolling through city on the night of 13th day. Edited January 15, 2011 by Gedis
Shadow NX 1 Posted January 15, 2011 Make sure to post a warning if you post videos with graphic content mate as not all who come here are adults.

Stagler 39 Posted January 15, 2011 (edited) John. Do some guys with the winter collar, the Ssh68 helmet (cover and without) and a plain 6B5 with the ammo pouches on the front. Like these chaps. http://www.defencetalk.com/pictures/data/4751/medium/war-russia-chechnya62.JPG If you need anymore help mate dont hesitate to give us a shout. enad 11 Posted January 15, 2011 These guys look pretty badass, I appreciate the variation you're putting into them.
johncage 30 Posted January 16, 2011 yeah i should include more collars, but the problem with collar is that the original model has too little vertices near the neck area. changing it messes up uv and weighs. i've experimented with this method for the moment: and yeah i probably went overboard with the balaclava thing
Stagler 39 Posted January 16, 2011 As far as AKM tells me. Soldiers during the chechen campaign had more of those 6B5s with the pouches on the front of the vest itself rather than the rigging. Try an OD one of those. Imho on the collars john, they look better downward as thats where they sit when then are attached to the winter jacket.

Harine 40 Posted January 16, 2011 Namely: during this war, it was anarchy on the level of the uniforms. There was of all. From the mix of camos in particular. Another very good link : http://www.pbase.com/igor01/chechnya&page=
Jar2012 10 Posted January 16, 2011 Really neat stuff John! I think you should try out some Shadow and Reed patterns for representing OMON (1995) in Grozny. As well as the V-95 and Grad vests. I need my urban FIX! Great job though, keep it up.
