I'm not sure if I'll do anything else for the game, honestly. I wanted to get into modeling and figured I'd try making just 1 thing for the game, but the Queen Eliz. was easy and fast so did that too. So if its somethin real cool idk, maybe I'll try it. Idk what else the game needs lol. People always make variations of the same exact thing. No offense to all the talent that creates addons for this game but I personally don't have interest really in having 50 reskins, or a whole new rifle pack addon just cuz it has a few redone scopes. If I made anything else on my own it would probably be fictional, but I wouldn't mind helping modeling something "real" - just don't wanna do all the textures and configs and stuff alone again lol. I'm trying to put more time into these again just to get them done because I honestly wanna start learning more about modeling/animation/rendering, not really making addons for games, that's just a on-the-side bonus I guess. Right now I'm having some trouble getting the ski ramp at the end of the Queen Elizabeth to NOT break the landing gear on take-off, unfortunately. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

JDog 11 Posted October 16, 2010 Phalanxes are on it and working now, scanning their respective sectors, requiring jackass888's Phalanx addon and Mando Missiles. Need to test it in MP just to make sure the few scripted things work, make some simple hangar bay texture, and then I think I can give it to you guys in a very light/simple version, before I get back to working on the Nimitz. Other than that just need to still texure the hangar inside with something. There really isn't a whole lot more to this QE than it being a floating STOVL field with a big empty space in it, and defenses. After this is released I'm getting back to work on the Nimitz, but maybe I'll hand the QE model over to someone if they have ideas/are willing to add to it. Well, seeing as the real thing won't be much more than a massively glorified helicopter carrier until 2020, that's more than adequate. :rolleyes: Sarcasm aside, still very much looking forward to trying this. JDog 11 Posted October 20, 2010 Almost there :) Got the lights on it. I'll probably add a few more to the islands and maybe like some green or yellow "parking spot" lights lol, not sure. It could use a few more though. And just to add another image here's what the Editor icon I just made looks like, with mission editors in mind lol. Placing stuff on it is accurate to like a foot haha, and its got the setPos elevations in it (18 for deck & 7 for hangar) for quick reference. ^^^ Does that look like some weird animal to you guys lol? JDog 11 Posted October 20, 2010 I actually don't know how those work. Was going to look into it for the Nimitz IFLOLS, would probably have to script my own for carriers though. Also, I've no idea what kind of landing system if any the Queen Elizabeth class carriers will have on them. They aren't really meant for conventional landings and I don't know if there's any system in place for vertical/short landings... other than people waving big glowsticks :D Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

JDog 11 Posted October 22, 2010 (edited) OMG that's a fast catapult! I'm looking forward to releasing this Queen Elizabeth. I think I'm just going to toss 1 Sea Sparrow on it, maybe on top of one of the islands lol, just so it has one. The platform for the weapon positions is just kind of weird, I'll eventually have to add one somewhere aft and starboard, as that's the only corner without one. The ship has like a 30-degree blind spot on its starboard side that the Phalanxes cant reach. The Sea Sparrows won't work until the next MMA release though, which ought to be soon, so this release should be soon as well. Anxious for it, then I can get back to work on the Nimitz. Update: Queen 'Liz is pretty much done. Waiting on the release of two prerequisite addons you guys'll need for it to work fully though before this gets released. Next MMA update and the Sea Sparrow. Otherwise I'll just release it next Sunday and it'll be defenseless until those releases, at which point it'll automatically be ready and work. JDog 11 Posted October 30, 2010 Nimitz editor icon done today, again accurate to around 9-18 inches lol. This was one a bit more tough, more going on/more levels. There are a few other interior spaces but they're too difficult to try to get right on this, might add them before the Nimitz's release, not sure. Don't really expect mission makers to start people off in those areas anyway. This coming week I'll start working on the Nimitz for real again, starting with textures, then adding details like life rafts/nets/etc. Probably release Queen Elizabeth this weekend or Monday.
