[Solved] Config patches: DLC compatibility vs requirement
Corvine posted a topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS - CONFIGS & SCRIPTINGHi, sorry if this is a basic question, I'm kind of new to configs. I've tried searching for this question but couldn't find anything. I'm trying to find out how to make an addon compatible with DLC, without requiring it. I'm making an addon that changes gun feel, and I've achieved it for vanilla, non-DLC weapons. Here's my patch for Weapons_f: https://pastebin.com/L8Dd9JuJ. Here's an example of a modified CfgRecoil setting: And a modified CfgWeapons entry: These work fine. What I want to know is: if I add similar CfgRecoils and CfgWeapons entries for DLC weapons, like this: ...will that cause problems if the mod is used by someone without the DLC? Is this something to do with how you define requiredAddons? Do I have to get people to install compat patches based on what DLC they have? I still don't 100% understand this aspect of making a patch so if anyone could ELI5 that would rock. :) Thanks!
Best way to get AI to get in vehicle
Luckyas posted a topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTINGI am making a mission where I have 2 AI + the player himself in a boat driving towards the shore. When at the shore I need them all to board a hatchback. Whatever I try I can't get this stupid AI to do the right thing. I've tried the most common option: unit1 assignAsCargo [car1]; unit1 orderGetIn true; Unfortunatly this doesn't work. The AI just keeps sitting in the boat. If I add the orderGetOut command first they DO get out of the boat but then just walk a bit around. When I make one of the AI's group leader, they hop out of the boat, walk around and then order me to get in the boat instead of the car. I also tried it with waypoints but that gave the same results. Does anyone know how I can get this to work? At the moment I am so frustrated of the AI that I just want to teleport them in. But that would not look very nice.
Dialog "z-index" problem

It's essentially a tablet UI covering a bunch of functions. Support requests, section orders/planning and ISTAR (intelligence gathering). I appreciate the work needed to get this done, it's a long term project. I also know there's cTab, which is a great mod but I'm looking to make something a bit more bespoke to my unit. Anyway, the dialog issue is that I can't really achieve what I want in terms of layering. I've read that the order dialog controls are defined in is the order they are layered (z-index essentially). That's great, except the map controls seem to ignore this. With the layering I have, if I put the map to ControlsBackground it can't be interacted with, but if I take it out of there into Controls, it sits on top of everything, regardless of order. The reason the map can't be interacted with is there is a controls group covering the screen area to hide any content that strays outside of the tablet image. So, does anyone know of any better way to avoid controls appearing outside a defined area, or does anyone know how to force an element to be behind another? What I intended... The "overlapping"... Overlapping with the context menu focused (clicking on it brings it to the front)...
Can I set mod load priority?
God of Monkeys posted a topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERSHi, I am my team's mod translator.I'm curious question, like when I translate ACE3, I extract stringtable.xml out and translate.When done, I pack these stringtable.xml into pbo and make a New Mod(Have @ folder), just like a patch and try don't change original pbo. This work fairly well, but some time there will some loss word don't translate.I guess might the original one and my translate one conflict, and my mod don't high priority than original one.Can I set or write in config.cpp to adjust my stringtable.xml high than original one?Thanks

I pressed ' but it doesn't change it. 2)When using the heli at first mouse turns heli left to right. after being in the air for more than 30 seconds it switches it to cyclic right or left - i.e. it leans to left or right. is it supposed to be like this? I cant turn easily without leaning. 3) I want to report these and other bugs, but on the feedback submission website there is no way to submit the bug. any solutions would be appreciated. thanks
