  1. I still don't think my solution posted there is appliable in this case. The invisible units behind window panes is something that also affects a lot of WW4 units, so it's something I've also tried to solve myself. The only solution, after you've tried to sort the textures in O2, is to simply remove the window panes from the game. So, it's not a solution but a workaround. This was suggested and first executed by Sanctuary in his versions of the vanilla islands that come with WW4. I also used this trick in the version of Kodiak provided in EXT since v1. And then there's also the problem with texture sorting that affects a bunch of vanilla assets (such as the BIS jeep), where they are always rendered on top of any particle. And in this case there doesn't seem to be a case caused by black/dark textures. Texture sorting is simply a mess and a gamble in OFP/CWA.
  2. I'm not sure both issues are related. The problem I encountered only seemed to affect particle textures.

  4. It might be one of two things: You clicked that link without being logged in. Currently, links to last posts are malformed (they don't actually send you to the last post) for not logged in users. You might haven't noticed the arrow that is displayed at the right side when you hover over a thread title (in the forum proper). Clicking it will expand that row and show both the first, last and last unread posts with direct links besides each one. -- Apart from that, is it me or are bots spamming these new forums way more often and for longer than before?
  5. Regarding the problem with PMs being deleted for both recipient and sender when one of those decides to delete it: After some tests, it seems that it only affects legacy PMs (those sent and received before the transition). New "conversations" (series of PMs sent and replied to unde rthe same title) don't seem to be affected by this. The deletion is done only for the one who decided to delete them. The other one will keep all the received emails and will be notified that "X has left the conversation". So, it's not as severe as some of us thought. But it still leaves the problem of what to do with all the legacy PMs some of us still have around.

    DUNE mod V1.0

Congrats on the release! I've tried it a bit and it looks like it can be lots of fun. I'm launching it together with the skies, OFP materials and @ww425bis (for the WW4 infantry animations). All seems to work without problems. A couple screenshots I've taken with some Atreides troops: Also, I've encountered a couple errors and/or oddities: Error when trying to grab the missile launcher in the Harvester mission (sshot of the error). The monocycle (?) (the harkonnen wheel-like vehicle) gunner position seems a bit weird. I think this has to do with the fact that you tried to have a single-seat vehicle that was also able to shoot and OFP/CWA didn't let you. Hopefully Faguss will create a new config entry in his OFP Aspect Ratio for this mod. Right now it's all cramped in the center of the screen in widescreen resolutions. Also, the bat file for the skies only works on OFP and it fails in CWA. I've hacked something together that does the job for CWA, but it's not pretty. It currently creates the proper data and data3d pbos but it gets "stuck" after it's done, so you have to manually close the DOS prompt. Other than that it works. Grab it here: https://www.mediafire.com/view/bzb2uw8ko9wswki/installCWA.bat Extra sshot, but I liked it less than the both from above: https://i.imgur.com/w7ISCEp.jpg
  7. Quick fix that solves dedicated server compatibility with the Harrier: https://www.mediafire.com/download/smjucqca1vbyl98/ww4ext_harrier_quickfix.zip Replace ww4ext_harrier.pbo in WW4_EXT_VEH with the one found in the zip file. As reported by Akvadakar. The texture itself was resized by Sanctuary.
  8. Can someone confirm those have actually been solved? My bet is that the first one should have, as it Beck has contacted the user that brought up that issue. Width of the forums seems to be now liquid instead of fixed, but my screen isn't near as high resolution as most of yours. As for the numbering, no idea. I never experienced that myself. I placed a temptative "solved" there.
  9. Automatic deletion from both sender and recipient explains a lot of things then. It's no like the "Save draft" button has the same action as the "Send" button, which leads to situations where you can't save a draft for a recipient with the PM bin full. The problem (huge problem IMO) is the way IP.Board is storing those PMs, where there seems to be just one instance of each PM in the DB where its status (sent, received, draft) is just a flag besides it. So, when you create a new message it most likely checks if both recipient and sender are allowed (under bin capacity limit). If that condition isn't met then the PM isn't stored in the database (and hence the stupid error). And when a PM is deleted, it's effectively removed from the DB, no matter if it was done by the recipient or the sender, as there was just a copy of the PM to begin with. This surely helps cut DB size and overall performance, but it's a piece of shit solution from a user POV. And, yes, the main reason why being able to store (bin capacity increase) and export (ideally via xls again) is important is due to all the permission frenzy that goes and have gone around this community. I still have all the previous PMs stored just in case some yahoo starts claiming that X or Y permission wasn't actually granted. --- EDIT: And let me just reiterate that the new forums aren't properly configured to be able to send emails yet. So, no notifications and no "archiving" of PMs.
  10. Well, thanks for stopping by again. Yes, I've been aware of the changes and I've tried to update the first post accordingly. There's still a long way to go though (my personal pet peeve is all the problems with the PM system right now). I think we can all agree that all this overall frustration most of us are feeling could have been avoided with either more thorough or actually proper testing before performing the change or with some kind of beta phase where all these bugs and glitches could have been ironed out. Regardless, now it's too late for that. Seeing that things are getting fixed is really a good sign, even if it isn't in the order or with the speed some of us would prefer (but, well, it's a weekend, and a hell of one for all you I guess). Keep fixing and improving and, for the sake of what you hold dearest, please avoid transitions like this in the future. I'm sure both your families and our sanity will be thankful for that. But, like that guy said: that's like... my opinion, man. IIRC it was reported already elsewhere that links to specific posts still don't work properly. No idea bout all the rest of your problems TBH. Maybe I should change the links entry status to IN PROGRESS instead?
  11. Weird. I don't get that anymore.
  12. Well, looks like all the editing forums have now been ported. With that said, they are all hidden under the OFP EDITING forum, so it's impossible to tell whenever a new post is made there unless you physically go inside the aforementioned OFP EDITING area.
  13. All the subforums related to OFP editing (from scripting to configuration or modelling) are gone now. There's just an OFP EDITING subforum that is actually empty. Is this something temporary, something that has slipped through while upgrading to the new forums engine, or is it permanent?
  14. Right now there doesn't seem to be that option. I guess that should go into the list, then.
  15. You can still do that through the VIEW NEW CONTENT button. There's an option on the left column reading "Items I've participated in", under Other, that should accomplish that.

    Dark Forum Theme

Glad to help. Also, user names in the Latest Visitors (in your Profile) are white on white. EDIT: Also, for some reason the Forums image at the top left is missing for me. Note that I use Stylish instead of Styler, as I'm on Firefox.

    Dark Forum Theme

Good job, Kingsley. Although the CODE blocks aren't styled yet. For instance, the block you used in your post to share your style is now fully white, both background and text.

    New forums, you decide

You should be able to have that sorted out by posting in this thread. Although by posting here they might be aware of your problem already. While we don't get some official reply to this (or I have missed it) here's what other IP.Board users have to say (using google cache version, as Invision server can't handle the load to their own forums...). The main reasons listed there being: Focus on money making options Good support aaand, that's it. But I think the reason stated by krzy might be it.

    New forums, you decide

My vote went in the failure camp. I'm doing my best to keep calm and not going apeshit but it's actually harder the longer I work on the endless list of omissions, bugs and glitches. BTW, the link I just posted. In the previous version I could have just written: https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/183456 and it would have sent me directly to the page. Now it requires the full title, such as in: https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/183456-list-of-issues-with-the-new-forums-engine/ Couple that with the fact that you can now edit the title of the thread (which wasn't possible before) and say hello to broken links whenever an author decides to change the title of his/her thread... Anyway... This whole move is totally fucking disastreous. There's no way around it. Yes, I'm aware everyone involved is doing their best, but still. This is not good. Actually, someone please explain the reason for the change. The real reason. I have yet to see one anywhere. All I get are assumptions and conjectures. The worst part is that I'm fairly sure most of the issues reported in that thread won't be resolved. Partly because IP.Board is clearly an inferiour, dumbed down product, and partly because I'm starting to seriously question the capabilities and will of those involved in fixing all that. Well, that's it. Some little ventilation going on here. I could go on like this all day TBH.
  20. Added. Unread messages: it seems it's now located in the "VIEW NEW CONTENT" button, found in the top left of all pages. There it will display by default a list of your unread threads. It also has other options to fine tune the displayed list further. EDIT: But there's no way to finetune the list of unread threads of a specific subforum. So, added this to the list too. EDIT: Nevermind. Turns out there is a way to do that. The option found at the bottom left: Filter by Forum. Still, somewhat hidden when IMO it should be one of the top ones, if not the very top one. Rest added. Added. Added. Added to the first post.
  21. Some weird glitch when hitting the Back browser button when browsing these forums: After a few reloads it worked fine.

    Topic Edit Reason Gone

Ah, my bad. I thought it allowed you to write something. I actually used it in another thread, but didn't pay much attention to it. If that's not there then it might not be supported anymore. You'll have to write the reason in the post proper.
  23. As far as I can gather, the main reason seems to be better support for mobile devices. And that's pretty much it. And, now that we're talking about Drongo... Drongo, dude, come back to OFP. Since you are in the Arma 3 community you've become... unleashed. It's almost scary :P But, while I try to keep calm and rational here, I must admit that I can easily echo his and your view on all this.
  24. Jeesus, you're right. Scrolling while a page is loading sends you back to the main page. This is... nuts. Me no comprende. I tried that, but it doesn't work for me. See: https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/145818-ww4-extended-unofficial-expansion-for-ww4-25/?p=2335256 And the same video here (code used first): [media] [/media]'> [/media] Note that even if I write that in "html mode" or whatever it's called, it still doesn't work for me. Even if I use the "extended BBCode" to insert it there instead, still no luck. Ah, it's probably the format of the URL. Trying... WTF So, the trick is to use the URL of the video proper, as seen in the browser bar, not the one you get from clicking the Share button below the video (which was what you had to do before). In other words, this format works: [media]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=<ID of your video>[/media] Well, it still needs to be changed by someone with the proper rights. If the reduction of PM count was accidental, which I'm starting to wonder if it's really the case. Yes, It's happened to me also, when replying to another thread. Or at least you'd think you're logged out. Turns out that if you go back to the main page it says you're still logged in...

Now you have to click a checkbox in the right side when you post this. It's only available in "full version" edition mode and it's unchecked by default.
