I posted this before, https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/71106-new-forums-feedback-thread-bugssuggestions-here-please/?view=findpost&p=2896332 There is an old YouTube tag with my profile that doesn't work, but no way to edit it. Please add a way to edit or remove YouTube tags in profiles. -

After having no issues for several days, this happened to me again yesterday. Nothing happens when you click Log In after entering e-mail and password. ABP had to be disabled in FF to log in to forums, and cache cleared. Once logged in, ABP can be re-enabled and all is good, including auto-login using cookies when Firefox is closed and re-opened. This may have nothing to do with ABP, but... I don't know. -

---- Yep, logins via Firefox with ABP are ok now. This is good. I have not yet found a way to see a list of my most recent posts. It must be in there, but.......where? (Edit - I found it: My Content> Forum> only posts ^_^ ) The # of allowed PMs has been reduced to 50, which is a step backward to where it used to be. Please increase the max # to what it was before the forum reset. ---Edit2: There appears to be no YouTube option in the Contact Methods section of the profile. One can enter one's YouTube page as a "Website URL," but a proper, editable YouTube entry would be much better. Also, one apparently cannot delete or change what is currently in your YouTube Contact Info in your profile. -

In Firefox, AdBlock Plus prevents logins to the forums. Disable AdBlock for forums.bistudio.com and logins work fine. AdBlock Plus in Chrome doesn't seem to block logins. -

A2/A2:OA Beta Patches Pre-Final Patch
OMAC replied to goliath86's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
The lack of proper attention to ACR by a Czech company has mystified me for years also. Here is a =status_id&op[status_id]=o&f[]=subject&op[subject]=~&v[subject][]=ACR&f[]=&c[]=tracker&c[]=status&c[]=priority&c[]=subject&c[]=author&c[]=assigned_to&c[]=updated_on&c[]=category&c[]=fixed_version&c[]=votes_value&group_by="]good list of the bad news. -
Personally, I never tried the "Steal the MBT" methods, and always stuck to the guerrilla attack plan which was envisioned by BI. But it's always cool to have more than one way to tackle a mission, which can enhance replay value. There is an important fix for AI AT soldiers in 1.48 that can effect Bingo Fuel (and all other missions with AI AT guys). :) http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=19670 Download the RC and test it yourself! :)

A2/A2:OA Beta Patches Pre-Final Patch
OMAC replied to goliath86's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Myself and many others have been nagging BI about an ACR patch for years, as well as making ACRlite part of Arma 2*. These nice things seem quite unlikely to happen now, as apparently one BI dev had all the ACR files, but was moved to another position in the company, or perhaps left the company (?), and thus the procedural chain for fixing ACR was broken**, perhaps irreversibly. This is a very sad situation. :( Here's an idea: could BI dig up the old ACR files and give them to goliath86? And pay him something to fix the many issues that were carefully documented in dev-heaven? *Dwarden has looked into this idea many times, but said the technical issues with packaging ACRlite and SteamIDs have been too difficult to overcome. **as reported by a BI dev. I am paraphrasing his words and don't really know what went down. But whatever went down, it wasn't good for ACR, Arma 2, and BI as a whole. -
Most hardcore Arma players I know of think the opposite, that Bingo Fuel is perhaps the best, most immersive mission in the entire campaign. Long, difficult, and complex, there are many ways to solve it, and various optional tasks with full voice acting. Various outcomes of mission effect subsequent events in campaign (to some extent, anyway). Great stuff. Even some Arma hipster veterans have trouble with the mission. Missions like this are of high value to me, and I'd lay down big $$$ to BI if they made more of 'em. However, you bring up a good point, in that Bingo Fuel stands far, far out from other campaign missions in its difficulty, length, and complexity, as others, including myself, have written here before. It seems like it was dropped into the campaign amongst many much easier and simpler missions. New players will be shocked, dazed, and confused by the mission. It would have been better if gameplay was more even throughout, or the most difficult missions appear at the end of episodes, as it was in Doom/Quake* and most other video games. ;) Another idea would have been to split Bingo Fuel into 2 missions. *

Well, not a recent one, anyway. The gold mine at Lihir is within the Luise Caldera, an extinct, collapsed volcano. It is highly eroded, and only about 2/3 of it is preserved, the rest having been completely eroded away. So it no longer resembles a typical composite volcano. See the image on that web site I mentioned. Being located on the Pacific Rim, it is a volcanic island. There is a mountain on the southern half of the island west of the town of Kinami which vaguely resembles the brown cone in the BI screenshot, but I can't be sure, as it is covered in clouds in GE. That mountain looks to be further inland than the brown cone on the screenshot. I can't wait to fight in the jungle! But if there's no campaign, and just a few showcases, to hell with it.
-
I also am not 100% convinced that it's a model of Lihir. The gold mine on Lihir is right on the water immediately next to the main city and port. Perhaps they moved the mine a little inland? I also can't find the brown cone near the shore shown in the other shot. But Lihir isn't out of the question, especially if BI used a little artistic license. Lihir is about right for a major terrain in terms of it's size (~203 square km), compared to about 41 km2 for Stratis. The gold mine on Lihir is one of the largest in the world (>9 million oz Au), and is located in the caldera of an extinct volcano. It is highly geothermally active, the only mine with hot, mineralized waters circulating through the ore! http://www.newcrest.com.au/our-business/operations/lihir/

Oh, I see. I never played A1, just the A2 port of it. I thought that Rahmadi island was new in QG since the QG Rahmadi Conflict campaign takes place on it and Porto, and A1 Sahrani Conflict campaign takes place only on Sahrani. Rahmadi Conflict is a great little campaign, very well designed! I would be ecstatic if A3 expansion had two campaigns, even short ones like Rahmadi Conflict. But I'll bet we'll be lucky if there's even a campaign at all, as it has appeared for years now that BI is moving away from SP. A massive, crying shame IMO.
-
Remember that Arma Queen's Gambit expansion had TWO campaigns and two new islands (Rahmadi and Porto). :) Play them now in Arma II: Arma Rearmed 2. :681:
-
Yep. Very worrisome. Having no campaign for a major expansion would be a first for BI. And a last for me. Time for some creative new SP (+/- coop) content. Fingers crossed....

Have armor/damage values for vehicles changed? Wouldn't be surprised. Given the AI skill changes, and suppression, introduced recently (1.42?), it is quite possible that the balance of many campaign missions has changed. I do know that Infantry showcase went from being incredibly brutal and unforgiving* to a complete snap. With 1.42 RC (?), I tested it and completed it on Veteran with 0 reverts, whereas it typically took ~8-20 before. I don't think the AI changes would affect Game Over much (given the route you and I took), with the possible exception of the enemy specops in the swamp being easier to overcome/avoid. And Shipbreaker's post makes me consider playing Game Over again, also! :) Hopefully I'll find an evac chopper this time around! * Much like Trial By Fire A2 scenario. :638:

^ ^ I took the same approach, and had my engineer walk in front of the truck to watch for mines, but after hitting 2-3 mines, the Tempest was disabled.

A2/A2:OA Beta Patches Pre-Final Patch
OMAC replied to goliath86's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Hi Goliath86, What was the practical range of these weapons before? Cheers, OMAC -
They should have added something exciting like having to blow the Tremor device with a tactical nuke before exiting the island. ;) After which you have to penetrate the mountain lair of a sexy female CSAT agent, grab the plans, and escape (oh wait - no women in game, sorry ). In any case, if you have rescued either the NATO or FIA squad, or both, they should ensure that enough choppers or boats are available at all escape points to get you and the men you've just rescued the hell out of there. For example, if you have rescued them (optional task(s) complete), then a new task could have been generated which directs player to specific escape point(s) that would have enough vehicles. I think a lot more could have been done with this mission that would have left the player awed and satisfied rather than frustrated and/or let down. I see the elimination of saves as a gimmick. The "good" ending of Status Quo is largely ruined by a nasty bug which prevents most dialog from being heard. http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=22058 I'm playing the Arma 1 campaigns converted to A2CO in Arma Rearmed 2. These campaigns really feel like WAR, and are much, much more challenging than anything in East Wind except for Bingo Fuel and Game Over. Survive and Adapt are good, but the campaign doesn't live up to the "THIS IS WAR" A3 motto.

Help needed - Can't do Sidequests in Topolia?
OMAC replied to specialsymbol's topic in ARMA 3 - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Yes, avoid the red-hashed areas shown on the map, including one centered on Kavala and another on the main airport, shown here in the spoiler. There are at least 3 side quests for Topolia. -
[WIP] CorePatch: config patch for ArmA 2 OA

RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)
OMAC replied to soul_assassin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Looks like the donekeys/activeatekey isn't working for Heavy Metal 0.3.7, either. It also looks like task completion for that mission is based on complete destruction of Abrams tanks. If !canfire is used instead, or !canmove + !canfire, it is better, as you don't then have to waste valuable ammo blowing tanks which are inoperable and abandoned by crew. Ammo is important as there is no way to either rearm or repair your tank in the AO.- 16577 replies
