    Or do it like cwc, give the tutorial a story. First mission with a tank you had to move it, fuel it and find your crew first. That way you learned the mechanics before you met any enemies.

    Your point about european nations did bring up a question for me to RHS: How difficult is it to make compability configs between other mods and RHS? I have worked alot with configs in earlier games (made my own full conversion for OFP in 2003 and has always tinkered around, only released material was MarkXIIs HiFi soundmod for armed assault where I did all configs), so my question is more about how much is done differently and what is not possible with config changes (any changes in p3d regarding damage as an example)? I know you did go your own way and most other mods follow BI compability. I would guestimate that, say for example, a compability patch for OFRP and RHS is quite a task. But how much must be changed (ammo, weapons, units) or is it maybe even impossible for a 3rd person without full access? Reason for my question is that RHS is the backbone of A3 for me. No RHS no game. But in the future it could be nice to add a new faction from all the nice mods that are created.
  3. I tried to make an easy mission for my friends and I. I know about the limitations and frustrations since 2001 so I thought KISS. Let the AI free to do what they want, BUT I wanted some kind of insertion on a beach....... After trying a few scenarios where the boats did all kinds of face palm things I gave that one. Next was helicopter insertion. I managed to get some kind of maybe it will work if I used unarmed troop helicopters with AI pilots on careless. But man, is it difficult today to incorporate any AI vehicles today. Even the most simple tasks can go so shit ape wrong that you can't risk giving them any purpose in the mission. One of the beauties since OFP has been the AI because you never get exact outcome and sometimes it has been hilarious. But now it's not funny.

    The gods todays are weak. They only annoy us. Back in the OFP era when you have waited 20 min to join a mission and you loose connection after a 30 min infiltration to the objective, then you can feel the wrath of the gods.. ;)

    I agree that a campaign should be worked through. Each new mission is like an achievement. BUT that is not the same as challenging missions, it's just the story unfolding.
  9. North of Norway and Iceland are not permanently covered in snow. The gulf current keeps them warm. I been in Reykjavik and Hammerfest quite a few times and in the summer it's really warm (t-shirt) and the sun is up 24-7. So remember to put in the islands coordinates in the config up north so the summers have sun all 24 hours and that it's dark 24-7 in the winter :D I have been 200km north of Hammerfest in the Barents sea a few times too and it's relatively warm and nice in the summer.     I think it's done that way with purpose. If the whole group is alright and in the same spot only the highest ranked report back. That means the rest are ok too.

  12. Plenty of examples. Moving trigger fingers, ai for butterflies and other small insects, moon phases, water tides and more. Small nice details that makes the game more alive.

  14. I fully understand and agree on artistic freedom, that is what makes mods like this interesting and unique. I just find it curious to connect that choice to a trial version from Sweden when Finland has the "original". The first Galils were made with finnish equipment as the Galil is more or less a nato version of the RK62. Then again it do make sense to go nato standard as the other nordic countries do it. So it is kind of a mix that do make sense. But still made me wonder :)

    Are you sure you are hitting with all your shots?And I find it quite reasonable to only be able to take 1-2 shots. I actually like what I see in your video. You get quite a few bullets your way until he hits you.

    Two things that makes me rage quit, and are connected I think, is when the missions are setup like a rambo movie and I am somehow to destroy 7 tanks and kill truckloads of enemies by myself, and when it is obvious that the missions are made by a person that have most help features activated. I have totally failed on many missions as I have no clue where to go or no sane way to survive. It seems like one are to play with visible waypoints, enemy tags and extended armour. In CWC and resistance the missions were made so you could immerse yourself, but in later official campaigns it seems like you are supposed to play at recruit and/or grind until you manage. I want immersion not gameplay achievments. I want to experience the situation, not win it.

    Camera controls in Eden

    Ok... I have nothing else but "camera up" bound to 'home', but when I have a unit synched to a zeus module the camera pops straight to that unit (player) inside the editor. It seems like custom setups are a complete hit and miss and that some functions are stuck to certain keys whatever settings you have. I would love to have complete control of my key setup.... edit. It seems home is hard coded to some kind of "go to player feature"? It makes sense and it I would probably do just fine with that in my setup. But then I would like to use page up/down for camera up/down. Is there a list somewhere with all the keys that cant be rebinded and what they do?
  20. When making a campaign is it possible to have the DAC scripts in Dtaext folder, or do I have to duplicate it into every mission? Maybe this is wrong to ask here but maybe someone has experience?

    Page up and Page down doesnt work when I bind them to camera up / down. I have them for now on Home / End, but would prefer to use Page U/D to keep it consistent with my other key binds.
  22. I was talking coop :) If I tell you that I see an enemy tank and we discuss how to take it out and then suddenly my avatar shouts out that he see a tank... Or that my avatar shout out about an enemy, and we dont know where but we change our behaviour which we normally wouldnt.
  23. Sure. But when your avatar is reporting things you dont see.. And things you already seen and reported in. Edit. Ninjas everywhere ready to jump out at you....

    My impression is that tank warfare went tits up when micro ai was implemented. It is like the tank try to move like soldiers in a group. In ofp and armed assault it worked because the formation was more static, but when micro ai came the vehicles shouldnt have changed behaviour and kept the more simple ai. But it seems like not.

    Cant seem to roll

    Edit: Ignore this. I was in mental fatigue after installing windows 10..... I did a complete reinstall of windows and at the same time upgraded to Apex. As I have my own setup for controls (nothing is default) I had to do it all again. To my surprise I cant seem to roll! If I remember right it is the same button as lean left/right yes? But nothing happens. Did they remove that feature (doubt it), or am I missing something stupid here..?
