    Sanctuary's GRAA modpack 3.0 release IMPORTANT : To play with this mod you must have OFP Resistance patched to 1.96 You must have the official BIS camel addon available there : http://www.flashpoint1985.com/addons/addons.html EDIT (24 April 2007) : IMPORTANT 2 : Never enable the option ENABLE_DELAY_AISMOKE, it can lead into some CTD, if there is an update in the future this option (fortunately disabled by default) will be removed. In the same spirit of the simple and light on ressource infantry replacement pack "dma naval" or "dma army" modpacks, the GRAA modpack 3.0 features as a bonus only infantry and weaponry replacement to stay lag free on even huge missions. Major features of GRAA modpack 3.0 ----------------------------------------- -options, you want to customise your game ? that's exactly what you will be able to do with the 32 options you can enable or disable to your liking from the config.cpp in a very simple and user friendly way as you just need a text editor (like Notepad/Wordpad) and no modding skill. That's the major and primary feature of this modpack. -totally new animation replacement pack made specifically for the units of the GRAA modpack, and on top of this is coming along a lot of new additional animations linked to the mod options, allowing more different movements possibilities than in default OFP, that is the second major feature. -every units, military or civilian are using the Llauma new head model, and so every face textures are replaced by new face textures or BIS reworked face textures to avoid the need of having the face scripts running and lowering performance, basically you have the good head without any performance hit or bad face in vehicle. This is just a bonus serving to enhance the option system. -Thanks to the options system, you have a choice on who replace who: choose between HYK ACU us soldiers, HYK Woodland us soldier for the West side, RHS modern russian GRU and the HYK OPFOR for the east side, all tweaked to offer a smooth performance in framerate terms. -Comes with an ECP version , a Light version (if you wish to play with addons not featuring Llauma's head model) and a MP version (untested but should work) How to install -------------- If you already have a @GRAA mod folder in your OFP install directory, delete it before anything. . Now once done, to install, just extract the @GRAA mod folder (the one you find by opening the downloaded sancgraamod3.rar archive with WINRAR) (You can download WINRAR there for free and legally, "English WinRAR and RAR release" despite it is called "trial version", in fact it is not really limited) http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm Then put this @GRAA folder inside your OFP install directory. Usually, it is there : ...Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\@GRAA Now you can launch the game with the -mod=@GRAA in your shortcut to play, but i suggest you strongly to read the "OptionFAQ.txt" file to see how to setup your options in the config easily and customise your game. If you have no idea on how to do add the -mod thing, just create a shortcut of your FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE Once done, right click on it and select "Properties" Look at the line near the word "Target" , you should see something like this at the end of the line .....eration Flashpoint\FlashpointResistance.exe" After the " , just add a space , type -NOSPLASH Add another space and type -mod=@GRAA So the end of the target line will look like this .....eration Flashpoint\FlashpointResistance.exe" -NOSPLASH -mod=@GRAA you should not need -NOMAP as the content is not really huge enough for the memory to crash without -NOMAP , but some modern computer seems to be unable to run correctly OFP without -NOMAP , so it is up to your decision to use this or not : .....eration Flashpoint\FlashpointResistance.exe" -NOSPLASH -NOMAP -mod=@GRAA That's it, click OK and launch OFP using this modified shortcut to play with the GRAA mod activated.   4. Once a while you manage to get some free time. Unfortunately sometime it is no more than 5 minutes idling doing nothing browsing internet aimlessly. How about finding way to waste those 5 minutes in a totally unproductive way : playing flash games. And unless you are new to the internet thing, you are aware that flash games are found by thousands in google. That's not helping ! because most of them are just not good enough to really be able to waste your 5 minutes, some are so bad that you will stop after just 1 minute, leaving you desesperate for the next 4 ! So i need your help people, finding -very good- flash games that are so good your 5 minutes of free time will be utterly destroyed before you even noticed. Basically, what are the flash games you -personnally- tried (having just "hey i found that list on google" will not do) and really liked playing ? I have only tested 3 that are really good in annihilating those famous 5 minutes of free time : The last stand 2 Basically a zombie survivor game, everyone always like to shoot at zombie but when it's badly done it is just pointless and stupid ? Good news for youthis one is NOT badly done, in fact it is the opposite, bad news for your 5 minutes, they are lost. Desktop tower defense Someone pointed me to this, it seemed pointless : just buying/building/upgrading towers in a field to prevent monsters to go from point A to B. But in practice this is highly addictive with tons of game modes. Juts say goodbye to your 5 minutes, you will not notice them disappearing. Dino Run You're a dino, behind you doomsday is coming, so you run. That sound ridiculous ? Well, try to run, avoid big dino, eat little one, collect eggs, avoid slowing down, upgrade your dino, while beginning slowly and easy, things will become quickly epic "no way !". 5 minutes totally unproductively wasted.

In you main config (if you play with WW4 , that's the file named "config.cpp" located in ....@ww4mod25\bin\ ) Locate class Man:Land inside of that class, you should find the line extCameraPosition[]={0,0.3,-3.5}; That define the coordinates of the 3rd person camera position For the GRAA mod the alt 3rd person cam was using : extCameraPosition[]={0.25,-0.1,-1.4}; So replace the values and save the modified config to benefit from it. You may want to tweak those values to your liking.

    In what is some monstrous insane competition in horror between those islamists factions after the Brussel bombings, the talibans murdered at least 70 men, women and children from christian families that were celebrating Easter (and several hundred of wounded), in a bombinb in Lahore in Pakistan.     Why the hell is Turkey not banned from NATO after destroying an allied plane in the war against daech ? Already with the heavy suspicions against Erdogan government of backing up daech supporters and extremists and them bombing the Kurds that are fighting daech directly on ground, how can they still be considered a member of NATO ? Yeah, i remember that the US military have a use of some airfield there, and that's probably the reason they're still not banned, but how can anyone trust Erdogan anymore in any ways after this backstabbing aggression against an ally ?

    Just adding a precision, that surprised me a bit, on what i wrote previously : I was watching the TV french news and a few minutes ago the french prime minister was answering questions from the journalists that were presenting those news. One of them in one of his question mentionned that famous listing ( called " fiche S " ) , and talked about 4000 individuals on that listing (surprised me as i always heard them mentionning around 1800 names before) And the prime minister answered and mentionned that there was around 10.000 individuals on that listing.

    Those poor people just trying to live their everyday life, and a few assholes come in and murder them... Everytime a terrorist attack happen in France (and it's not new, it's been like that since more than thirty years), once the authors are known, it appears they were already on listings from the authorities as being linked to various terrorism groups ... everytime, it's never people that are unknown from french services. That list of people they all come from is apparently made of +/- 1800 individuals on french ground, they're not hidden, they're free to move. Can't believe after all those years my country government is still not getting rid of those people, and their only reaction is when those terrorists finally decide to make their move and murder people. It's not like there are no anti terrorism laws here to put those terrorists in training guys in prison before they act, as we even have "apology for terrorism" as a recognized crime to send people to jail.

    I put this there instead of PM as i think it could be useful for people making their addon config : I gave a look to the sardaukar config.cpp You have class CfgPatches { class Sardaukarinf { units[] = {Sard1,Sard2}; weapons[] = {}; requiredVersion = 1.30; }; }; But you have 2 unit class that are in the config but aren't defined in cfgpatch : class Sard3 : Sard1 class Sard4 : Sard1 Then there's the matter of using "" or not, never 100% sure of what should be used, but i always put "" personnally in my configs. Additionally, you have custom weapons for your units , but you haven't defined the requiredaddon section in the cfgpatch that mention the addon of those weapon Those weapons used are HAgatl and HAlaser, both coming from the config in HAgun.pbo, the cfgpatch section is class Harkonnenrifle, so you need a requiredaddon entry for Harkonnenrifle For the requiredaddon (that is missing from your cfgpatch) i usually add the default BIS addons there, probably not all of them are required but since i have done that, i never had any cfg problems anymore, in case one of the class defined in the addon is inheriting from one of those : "BIS_Resistance","BIS_WeaponPack","LaserGuided","6G30","Kozlice","G36A","MM1","Steyr","Bizon","XMS" A correct CfgPatch for the sardaukar should be : class CfgPatches { class Sardaukarinf { units[] = {"Sard1","Sard2","Sard3","Sard4"}; weapons[] = {}; requiredAddons[]= {"BIS_Resistance","BIS_WeaponPack","LaserGuided","6G30","Kozlice","G36A","MM1","Steyr","Bizon","XMS","Harkonnenrifle"}; requiredVersion = 1.30; }; }; And while looking at the HAgun.pbo config i see class CfgPatches { class Harkonnenrifle { units[]={}; weapons[]={HArifle}; requiredVersion=1.99; requiredAddons[]= {}; }; }; The requiredversion is too high, as it has no special CWA-only script command, 1.85 should be good enough ( OFP max version is 1.96 , with 1.99 OFP can't use that addon, only CWA) There should be some requiredaddon pointing to the BIS stuff too, just in case one of your weapon inherit from a BIS class and you forgot to add the other weapons defined by it ( HAgatl HAlauncher HAlaser) , so it should be : class CfgPatches { class Harkonnenrifle { units[]={}; weapons[]={"HArifle","HAgatl","HAlauncher","HAlaser"}; requiredVersion=1.85; requiredAddons[]= {"BIS_Resistance","BIS_WeaponPack","LaserGuided","6G30","Kozlice","G36A","MM1","Steyr","Bizon","XMS"}; }; }; I have not checked more PBO but i imagine they are probably running into the same problems (that would surely prevent any MP, servers are very sensitive to bad Cfgpatches and missions own addon requirement going wrong), be sure to give a look.
  16. Music and Voices should be OK with OGG, but for explosion/shots/rockets/everything "dynamic" in gameplay , WSS should be prefered.

    I gave a look to that mission scripts and noticed that the positionstr.sqs script you used Spad was made for an island that has its map coordinates going from A to J (Aa to Jj) and 0 to 9 (00 to 99) (like Everon) The problem is while the number are OK, that the Arrakis island go from A to T (Aa to Tj) , so if any of the squads go beyond the Jj square coordinate, the script has no idea where they are. You'll need to include the missing coordinates to have that script working with the Arrakis island. By example, if i want to add the K (Ka to Kj) (spoiler so this do not eat the whole page for the viewers) :

An early (the one i had released when we made the DMA release day) version of the m202a1 that i had reworked in look and script for WW4 , used originally an OGG file for one of the sound effect. While neither me or some friends that were using it could reproduce, a few people that were using the addon were crashing when they were shooting with it. Replacing the OGG by a WSS fixed it for them.

If modern highres tridimensional graphics filled with bloom aren't a must have to enjoy a game for you, those games should keep you busy for a long , long time with so much to do, so much to survive , so much to build and so much to keep your character living in those procedurally generated open worlds : UnrealWorld, survive into the dark age in a Finland-like world , meet interesting new people of many tribes and cultures, trade and befriend them, avoid being filled by arrows and getting axes in your skulls, hunt preys for food, get companions and eat them if you're hungry :D http://www.unrealworld.fi/urw_whatis.html Cataclysm : Dark Days Ahead, survive in a world after an apocalyptic event, while you building things, driving vehicles and shooting stuff, just be careful of the hordes of undead-like creatures, things from beyond and other festivity found in end of the world situations, oh and try to not insult any crazed survivor that happens to have a flamethrower. http://en.cataclysmdda.com/pages/1/display Those games, while finished in the sense it's fully playable from A to Z are in continuous development with new things more or less major regularly added ( UnrealWorld exist since 1992 by example )

    Blender - External Paint Autorefresh Addon

    An alternative that does not require addons to make use of your prefered image editor to help with the lack of Blender painting tools is the Blender "Quick Edit" functionality of the Texture Paint mode. Make sure you have added the path to the executable of your prefered image editor in File -> User Preferences, in the File panel before using Quick Edit. And of course have correctly setup your model, UV and assigned a texture to it. A video with an old version of Blender, but Quick Edit still works the same : (looks like that new crap... board engine auto-embed youtube links instead of keeping them links)

If someone is interested i used PaNTool to convert those 2 bad ratio textures into tga, rescaled them to 32x128 and reconverted them to paa with the same PaNTool, you can just replace them in your pbo and it should not crash dedicated servers anymore : dropbox link kenoxite, you should replace those stryker texture in your next patch, indeed OFP dedicated servers crash when there's a ratio that are more than 8:1 for textures dimensions. As i remember reading years ago, this crash is probably related to that old school 3DFX Glide support OFP had and that couldn't deal with textures ratio more than 8:1 and that somehow made it into the dedicated server code for whatever reason.

Long time ago, i had made an adaptation of the everon MFCTI for WW4 using some WW4 stuff inside , you can depbo it with pbo decryptor 1.5 if you want, i don't remember which files are which, it's been so many years, so i can't help on how to implement different weapon/unit. I only tested this in solo in LAN MP with the AI , and it was working at the time, so i think it should still work :D dropbox download link

    Nostalgia - Infiltration (UT99 mod)

    Ah INF, a most amazing game (as it was way beyond a mod) it was. I remember the "as real as it gets" , so many features, one of the few games i was playing online too from time to time, despite being mostly an offline guy, i used to go with FieldMedic as my nickname. The amount of work the devs had done on it was incredible, when you compared the original game it was built on, they changed absolutely everything, the physics, the visuals and even some effects, it was really a completely different game. I hope those guys managed to get the good job in the industry they deserved, they were genius way ahead of their time in what is called "realism" games.
