    Yeah changing my mod breaks the forum/user rules. Thanks I will look at the configs to try to make them louder, problem is the in-vehicle occlusion configuration has been changed about alot recently, before the samples were very loud and i had to turn them down, so i will see how they sound on my system and alter the configs to make them louder.

    Correcting the Quotation mark error seems to have fixed the sounds with the Zafir overlapping crazily so that will be in hot fix 4 when it comes along with the nato vehicle mg having no sound fixed also :D

    Absolutely right mate, YouTube videos have convinced people that gunfire has a ton of deafening echo all the time but in actuality it is dependent on the distant environmental area, this is normally subtle and the most echo naturally hard surfaced environments such as mountains, woodland etc The louder part to the "shot" is the reverb which can be very loud but normally is short lived and again dependent on environment but this time close proximity environment and hard surfaces again reflect the most.

    Its not so much having miss-matched mods, they server keys stop that. The real issue comes from whether the server forces you to have the mod or whether its optional.

I served for 5 years, and became fluent with probably most of the same weapon systems your are fluent with, so I think I probably you can respect the fact that I have experience too and my opinions are just as valid as other peoples regardless of whether they are different, but some in this thread (not yourself mind) have being stubbornly arrogant when others are saying their opinions, so I gave some back, sorry that involved you but your last post kinda made you an easy target, just like no doubt this post will make me an easy target too. When I say this, and it isnt meant to be laying down and challenge or anything stupid like that, next time your on the range or in the field think about the sway pattern in arma and see if it looks similar or not. I found it looks nothing like it, so I'm saying it is nothing like it, with that in mind it doesnt matter how much "proof" etc people try to give me about how I'm wrong it will not change my mind. Thats not me being arrogant its just me not concerning myself with others opinions when I comes to this, least of all do I expect anyone to care about mine, I'm just hear to say what I feel so BIS might read it not to force anyone else to change their minds which is how I felt some were behaving, hypocrytical of me? maybe so.
  10. At x4 it shows just how stupid the movement is, but past that its meant to back taken how it looks. You'd have to ask them, but I'm guessing because it was terribly buggy Maybe they know people will probably settle for second best, I'd settle for second best as what we have now isnt even remotely realistic Keep practicing and your skills will grow in time. Your shoulder and hands control the weapon your body supports, its called a firing postion, and you can take my video any way you like its ridiculous because.... it is. Look at this poor fella below, he's suffering from a case of extreme figure of 8's

Also for US forces to fire 1/4 of a million rounds per kia insurgent, not something to use boastfully as a bench mark, urban combat is very different to open warfare and personally I dont believe the figures. The US forces I met in Iraq were good soliders and didnt fire blindly at people.

    The fatigue is acceptable, it brings a new level of mastery to the gameplay and i would say most people can agree on that including eggbeast. But when adding the sway into the mix too, it becomes a lesson in self flagilation to play arma. No one here can honestly say the sway is realistic, I use that term as I hear "realisim" being banded around so often, anyone who does is simply not telling the truth or has never experienced those factors in reality. Massive sweeping figure of 8's, Bis can do better than that end of dit. So I would presume what the majority of people who dislike the current sway system are asking for is, a revised and more accurate depiction of holding a weapon in a non supported or supported firing postion under various fatigue states, whilst keeping in mind the character is supposed to be a fit, healthy, well trained infantier. When they create a new recoil system, sway needs to be looked into as well. To further my opinion, if the new recoil system just involves changing the pattern of lateral and horizontal camera movement, rather than creating a new visual system where something along the lines of the weapon/sight picture jurks towards the eye it will just be the same deal, but I'm hoping some real thought and time will be put into making it both as visually accurate as possible and fun, as an example making it balanced or equal to all players by making it harder to aim would be the opposite of positive. To those who quite rightfully say its a skill but you have to master it, I'll tell you what my Sarge said to me once: "True Infantry skill lays in your command of movement over the ground when closing with the enemy, any fool can shoot."

    Great videos I'm proud to have several NTG3's and an FR2-LE as my field recorder. By the way you understand Megagoth how it should be mate. I feel we have the same ideas and understanding of audio. Whilst I'm very happy that audio is finaly getting some treatment, I hope this doesnt mean I have to recode my whole mod, again.

    This forum gets my goat sometimes, people can be openly rude and abusive and nothing happens, one passive comment and its infraction time. Seems a little heavy handed, far be it from me to critisize because that will get me an infraction.

    I find realisim entirely fun, I wouldnt have been a player since OFP days but the current implementation is lacks imagination to make it fun, another factor to take into account is whats realistic for RPG arma is different for Battle Sim arma, its impossible to create a fatigue system that supports 2 different genres of game and incidentally this whole deal is new to the Arma series coming into being with this game. Weapon sway is the real grinder for me though, it is just rediculous and unrealistic. Any shouldered weapon no matter how tired you are will not do great sweeping figure of eights, the reticle going almost to the very far edges of your sight, again it lacks imagination and doesnt take into account the abilities of a trained solider then balancing with the fun factor. Weapon sway is the one thing that unanimously everyone I speak to says is the reason they dont play Arma 3, I used to be part of several big groups that played arma series over the last 10 years, sadly when arma 3 came out no one wanted to play because of the weapon sway and some of the groups eventaully dwindle because of the lack of players. :(

    It doesnt work megagoth, no matter how much your try it wont work because the feature was installed broken, I've been asking and asking for ages. LAxemann if you can make it work show it in a video like I have below, not so much as proof but just so we can see it working along with an explaination of what you did to your config/audio sample to make it work. My video as far as I can see shows its broken. Each sample has a loop marker set for the word test, if it was to loop correctly it when fired fully automatic for 5 bullets it would say .eg. test test test test test 3 test 3, but instead it plays every sample fully https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYD2CZCJZHo Sorry for my brummy acsent!
  22. I have to agree with the OP in everthing he said, I too have been there since Flapshpoint and all arma games since. If it wasnt for the arma engine allowing my love of audio and the passion for recording, editing, creating then placing into game, I would have left the series at the start of the beta stage. I virtually never play anymore save for occasionally testing my sounds online, its just too painful and too much effort to play, its just not fun. As an example of painful, all of the sublime BIS subtlety in previous games are gone, arma 3 gives things like god rays forced down your throat with no consideration for the trade off like the sun being a supernova blotting out virtually the whole horizon at certain times of the day, the weapon sway and fatigue system is just so unimaginative, with no consideration for actual trained solider performance, no striking a nice midway balance between the fore mentioned point and gameplay balance and fun. Arma 2 had these things right... Arma 3 has them ALL wrong! Still no wounded or hit animations, still no rocket models when reloading, still no textures on the inventry menus for some attachements, still no ambient sound occlusion. But we get DLC which is very sub par and mostly ported from previous games. If this is the future of Arma and Bis then its a sad day. As a customer I deserve more from my stock game, that high bar was set by BIS themselves so its sad they can no longer meet their own standards.

  24. This damn error, I havent a clue why this one suddenly just popped up but now its doing it for almost every sound in my environment patch. It didnt happen yesterday but now it does. I've checked my config and file trees seem to be perfectly fine, samples all play through WavetoSSS.exe with no problems and my pbo has a pbo prefix too. One thing that just started to happen at the same time was BinPBO stopped making a bisign, no reason I can see for this either. I normally know this error is when the game cant find the named sound sample but my trees are all correct in the configs. Totally stumped, any help would be appreciated. *edit just found this log from the arma 3 tools No idea what it means, wiki really needs updating with this type of infomation.
