I agree with this implementation. This should be an optional fatigue indicator available on all difficulty levels. In real life you simply know how you feel at a time. It does not make any sense to turn off the stance indicator and having to look at your legs to get information about your stance (clunky, unnatural, unreal) and so is to having to guess information about your fatigue that is so naturally given to you in real life.

Absolutely unnecessary. Audio feedback cannot give you the exact feeling you get when tired in real life. In real life you simply know how much you have left at all time. Why should it be any different in the game? Why? This "HUDfobia" is really not based on rational thinking.

I would love to see the indicator on all difficulty levels. It is naturally easy to tell that you are fatigued in a real life so I don't see any reason why anyone would want to have to guess it in the game without any indicator. I just hope nobody from pseudo-realism part of the community see this.

It is very easy to make a game with a high dynamic range. The problem is it is absolutely impractical in a FPS game. As you correctly stated, people would be deaf soon. The point is to set up the compression/limiter so that it is less explicit without actually increasing dynamic range. It can be done but it is not an easy task. You have to tweak a lot in order to find a sweet-spot and avoid distortions and obvious ducking etc.

You are talking as if Arma 3 was just a re-skinned Arma 2 without anything new. The Battlefield Hardline is a completely invalid comparison in my opinion.
-
Flight model will be improved soon in the upcoming DLC. Also, again, I was talking about people that even have not noticed it was copy-pasted and then, after they have found out, started to rage about it as if it was a big deal. I repeat that I understand that helicopter enthusiasts are concerned about it. I just don't understand the rest of the players.
-
That's right. Always compromises. Maybe it could be done in a more subtle way though.

Thanks for the explanation.

How are visuals "driving Arma to yet another generic Battlefield-like shooter"?? I thought it is the challenge, gameplay features, complexity, non-linearity and possibilities that make Arma so unique. Flashpoint is still an unique, challenging and fun game (I finished it few months ago) even when its visual fidelity is nowhere near the actual real-world counterparts (you have to be really forgiving in order to see its models as authentic). And yet here we are, angry and disappointed, talking about a stupid fictional cockpit of a helicopter? I would still play Flashpoint if it had more features and better gameplay than the other titles in the series. Believe me or not.
-
The difference between the individual titles in the series are not illusions. There are differences in actual gameplay features and visual technologies. I would not mind having recycled or completely fictional units again and again if the gameplay was improving with each title. And it is improving. Also, as I already said, I completely understand that helicopter enthusiasts cry about it but the others looks just like in need of whining just for the principle itself (aka: "I paid money for copy-pasted stuff").

How it makes the weapon handling more arcady? Please, explain.

Exactly. Play (not investigate) the damn game.

Yes, I agree. -
Man, just remember for next time that you cannot use mods at all if you want to debug stuff.

I have absolutely no problem with this. It serves its purpose well. I find it ridiculous that many of you hate something about you even don't know it existed or even haven't noticed while actually PLAYING AND HAVING FUN with the chopper. Why is the feeling and illusion of something new so important for you? Yet you would not mind BIS to copy-paste content from Arma 2... EDIT: I completely understand it hurts helicopter enthusiasts but the rest of you that only occasionally play with the chopper? You look like hypocrites. Sorry. EDIT2: And no I am not a fanboy.

Interesting. Will see how noticable it will be in practice.

Anyone noticed worse ragdolls after recent patches (like two weeks ago)? Bodies are too soft now and curve easily into unrealistic positions. What is this regression?

Is Arma 3 a reasonable replacement for Arma 2?
Bouben replied to DavidCastle's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Yes, I am affraid the inertia alone will not encourage players enough to use proper CQB weapons. The weapons collision system would definitely force them to do that just as you are forced in real life. -
I would be completely satisfied with a summer version of Alaska.

Exactly my thoughts. But maybe they are already doing it. Maybe they are using these little bits to create something bigger (you know, a technology developed for something could be used somewhere else etc.). -
Alaska would be amazing (and imagine snowy version)! I just hope we will not get another desert/dry map.
-
Well, the point of my reply was that I rarely hear that sound because of my playstyle. I have nothing against sound improvements tho.

Well, I remember from past airsoft CQB sesions that we had to rest from time to time. So maybe you can do that in the game too? The airsoft CQB was also many times slower than in-game movement routines. You cannot run all the time in real life. You also rest much faster in the game so...I think new system is not a problem.

Chernarus as error-free vanilla addon/DLC for Arma 3
Bouben replied to roguetrooper's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Chernarus is amazing. Shame that the moded one in Arma 3 has such awful LOD problems. -
ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread
Bouben replied to max power's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Guys, is there a mod for Arma 3 that is similar to vanilla medical system from Arma 2? That means, AI is able to revive you after being incapacitated.
