    new version as per request. Added respect for weapons original config. within reason as all scopes wont fit all weapons, etc - so if the original weapon has a suppressor on then the new replacement weapon will also try have one (it will be a random choice of which one though).     Congrats to the devs!!

    any idea if it also culls units? right now i can tell which direction units in game are simply by turning around until fps drops by 10 or more. smoke is bad as well....

    Damage system sucks - fix needed

    well, there are blood splats, those are cool if understated. But the spasm on being hit needs serious work. As does reducing accuracy/ability to function based on hit dammage. Coulum summed it up pretty well as always.

    [COOP/PVP] Sniper stories

    im having a blast playing this mission, so am releasing another version. many changes. Not PVP anymore. Now pure COOP. now featuring random roadblocks. And artillery if you are spotted too many times. Arti is a bit over powered but a good incentive to keep moving if you are spotted, after all you are in enemy territory. how you get to target (the officer with the black beret) is up to you, but keep moving. fun tactical games that last between 10 and 30 minutes.   6. Like to share a mission I'm busy with. must have 1-5 players on blufor side [COOP] Now COOP ONLY. A NATO recon/sniper team is tasked with killing the high value opfor officer spotted recently. The Officers last know location is marked and updated every minute or so. He is in enemy territory so be stealthy and tactical. One bullet well placed is all it takes to accomplish your mission. And now there's art to make things even more difficult. Every play through is a new story based around the theme of an elite sniper team. I dont usually have lots of free time, so the mission takes a max of half an hour or so usually, depends on how stealthy you are, often much less. https://mega.nz/#!fwtlVJQa!WWIDPAFlDq3x-JcPl47Ixykz0M8DAyoeLb-7aaY5y_k best played with a full blufor team at the least, then fill up the opfor team as you can. so its Coop first and optionally pvp. place the file in your arma3/mpmissions folder Random locations, random vehicles, random opposition. random AI zones. If cornered the opfor will converge on your location and you will have to fight your way out (DAC is awesome, quite a few AI and I average 50+fps). Vechiles are spawned near where you start to minimise hoofing it everywhere. But cars are noisy. This is heavily WIP so feedback welcome and updates should be expected. Enjoy! to dos: make simple base life and events.
  7. i agree. I find mouse response gets very very jumpy in lags and spikes. Which in a game about aiming accuracy isnt ideal.
  8. really digging Alive. some great battles. But I find that it eats frames. I go from 40-50FPS average to 20-28FPS. Dropping graphics settinsg doesnt help. Im using the modules as suggested in the alive wiki quick start guide. Any tips for enjoying alive without it eating up so many frames?

    Update. Corrected compatibility issue. Now even more weapons packs including CUPS are read properly.   10. great release. congratualtions on 1.0. Its been a while since Ive used ALIVE, but damn hell the battelfiedl feels amazing. Just trying to find ways to optimise perfomance but great release.

    That would awesome. Only versions I can find seem to be very old. Just seen some of what you guys have accomplished with AI, and it looks damn impressive.

    Very possibly. There's a lot happening in the background which could cause this. But my rig doesnt struggle with arma 3 - only when firig a weapon for the first time or high volume weapon fire - where the sounds 'stuttering' is the most obvious symptom. is this what fmod helps out?
  18. hi, I browsed the CBA dev page but couldn't find an answer to this question. I'm probably not looking in the right place. Is there a global variable that tells me if CBA is loaded? It'd be so useful to know as then I can accommodate CBA and non-CBA environments. thanks!

    yes, i notice that there's often a stutter when firing in arma3. especially on higher rate weapons. not good and seems to lag a little when this happens.

    this, so much. These arent trivial things either for a FPS experience like arma 3 should be. they are essentials that would make the game react far more beleivably.
  22. got a small issue. in a local coop mission. DAC generated units are disappearing when a player (the guy running dedicated server) is killed. Seems they are local to him. How can I make it so that they persist? Quite a let down trying to hunt the guys down only to realise that they have disappeared due to the player whose pc spawned them dying.

    This game is too hard :(

    first - the usual advice. use cover, etc, etc. but also the AI accuracy is too damn high. that's been tested in dev branch and is a fact. its inhuman. anything over aiaccuracy 0.32 is super human. around0.3 is extreme as well. personally i created a very simple addon that lower ai accuracy to human levels (to less than 0.3). Not any great shakes as an add-on nor advanced. What it mostly does is check if ai accuracy is over 0.3 and if it is then assigns a lower random value modified by rank. Makes them miss more essentially but you will still die a lot. but it feels a lot less like headshotted at 500m in an instant. it is here. just uploaded it in steam workshop. Requires CBA3. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=619834340 maybe it'll be useful. But best solution is for BIS to relook at key parts of the AI (how easily they see other units (cover, distance), their base accuracy (too high, wounds do not affect accuracy) and firing abilities) and make the player controls more fluid. I really like the game but the unit movement and firing do feel too robotic still, which when combined with seemingly super human AI and it can seem be a pretty hard game to get into. Worth it though. Top game.
