  2. Dear friends. Ukraine need help, the Russian people need our help. Sanctions on Russia is growing by the hour. Not just by governments but also by private companies. Products are taken of the shelves and business ties to Russia closed. This is good but sadly too slow. People rush to the banks to take out their savings. Too them it’s just another Sanction by “Evil” West. Russian TV controls the narrative by censorship and propaganda and social media is banned. Yesterday “LIVE” video from Ukraine showed peaceful towns, as proof that the Bombing is a Hoax. We know this is FALSE because we are not censored from seeing artillery and air strikes on civilians. We must ALERT the Russian people that by destroying Ukraine. They will become a target of HATE. Playing games is for good or bad, an escape from reality. But we need reality now more than ever. Russians love gaming as much as we do. If we can suspend or block their access! it will have an immediate effect in their everyday life, and prevent them from sticking their heads in the sand. We want them to know what Putin is doing and ask WHY? Just as our kids when we block them. I have nothing against Russians, other than their ignorance, caused by censorship and propaganda. A sanction on gaming will have a huge and direct effect on the Russian middleclass. We need them to STAND UP and PROTEST for Ukraine, for themselves and the world. If Russia starts bombing Ukraine like they did in Georgia and Syria, NATO can be forced to ACT. This could result in a Third World War. A NUCLEAR WAR. Are YOU willing to ignore the risk? If it happens. It will be because we all Amused ourselves to Death. Copy this text. Add to it or change it. Keep the message clear and do your best to make it go viral.     RC Feedback: Vehicle idle sound and distance. The Hatchback is a small 4 cylinder car. You should hardly hear the engine idling if you were standing right next to it. We played on a low populated server and we had 1 guy "dumping" Hatchback's in the AO all the time. A newbie using Eject. ( Witch keeps the engine running ) You hear the Hatchback engine idling. Sounds like its close! Perhaps behind the building in front of you. Turns out its 100m away, behind 6-7 buildings. Now scale this up to a 100 player server and add more cars and helicopters into the mix. And the whole AO turns into a Swamp of unnecessary and unwanted noise without a sense of direction. I have played KOTH for 3 years. And THE most annoying thing about KOTH gameplay is empty vehicles with engine on. The problem is that many players use EJECT instead of "Get Out" by mistake... Which means the vehicle will keep the engine ON. Vehicles will also keep the engine running if the Driver or Pilot is killed after stopping or landing. (Happens every 2 minutes on a full server.) Arma 3's soundscape is horrible. And vehicles running in the AO really shows how bad the 3D sound positioning is. Just think about it.. Do you really enjoy having to use F1 because there's a parked car 100m away. Try adding 2 running Hummingbirds to the mix and even F1 wont help. Keep in mind that this is mostly a problem on Infantry servers. And the more players you have, the bigger the problem. But you can have 15 players on the server and they are all in the AO. If 1 Hummingbird is left running in the AO it's annoying as f... Simple solution. Don't allow the engine to keep running if the Pilot / Driver is dead. Or if nobody is in the driver seat. I'm not against the idea of keeping the Vehicle ON but for the sake of gameplay & performance. We need a better solution than what we have. In general: 3D sound positioning in Arma is HORRIBLE and to make it worse you also have terrible terrible sound engineers. I have a tip for you that I use for audio testing. Make silent copies of the whole audio library. Then add 1 sound at a time, weapon, Hatchback, a bird or a f.... toad. Now use your ears and LISTEN. Is that toad 100m away perhaps a tad too LOUD. Ohh BTW. I love the Cyrus it sounds cool. But that echo is real in only 1 place.. 99% of the time it's not there. It's like "Screech" sounds from a car, doing burnouts in the sand. Sorry for the rant but you deserved it for your sloppy work. But I still love ya :-)

    Awesome work Gunter. Thank you. I've tried again and again for 3 years now too combine different keybinds , just so I could zoom without holding down MB2. ( Just found this thread, so I haven't tested it yet ) But I think we must be able to toggle this, or else it will come with a hefty penalty in many situations. Keep up the good work :-)
  5. I have that problem too, and its been a pain in the arse for years. The biggest problem for me is that I play with the arrow keys. Which means I have to rebind most keys over to the "right" side of the keyboard. But this causes a lot of conflicts. I've started with a clean keybinding file many time over, and checked and removed any conflicts. But I always ended up having problems especially with "Toggle Combat Pace" and "Toggle Raise Weapon". Sometimes the weapon would not Raise at all, or it could take up too 3 seconds. And the character may also keep moving forward or in completely wrong direction, for many seconds. It seems that the more you press, the longer your character will run. I ended up solving the problem by buying a Logitech G602 with 13 buttons and the solution for me was to add the default keys to the 6 thumb buttons. I've been a happy camper with that mouse for almost 4 years now. But it broke down tonight. So now I'm back in the forum again, looking for the same answers and now complaining because there's still no solution. And I've been trying for 6 hours make the keybinding work. 1. Its possible to add a bunch of keybinds to the same key without getting a conflict. 2. It's also possible to get conflicts with many keys you should not expect to be conflicting. Infantry / Vehicles. I love you Bohemia and 3k hours proves it. But but the keybinding is a mess, it always was.
  6. I get killed all the time because I don't know if combat pace is ON or OFF. If its OFF and I try to strafe sideways and shoot, the gun won't fire, very annoying.

This is unnecessary NOISE pollution and you are destroying people's hearing on a grand scale. This is especially annoying in KOTH where we often have a bunch of hellis & Blackfish in the AO with engines on full blast. It f.... up gameplay and adds unnecessary sounds to be processed for client and server. Vehicle engines should be turned off by default on all servers when players "Get out or Exit the vehicle or helli. Servers would need to enable "Engine ON" on exit. And if enabled. Players should be forced to use a key combo like, Alt+Shift+ E for the engine to stay running. But there should be a time limit or else it might stay running until it respawns again. It should be top priority for Bohemia to implement this simple thing ASAP. I also recommend we get the option to automatically enable ear plugs in or around vehicles.

    BIS, any work being done on Voice Over Network?

    I bought A3 after watching gameplay videos from KOTH and now after hundreds of hours, 99% KOTH I can say that "Side Chanel" is easily the biggest cause of anger among the players. New players starts hate wars and they don't know why. And its very hard to help them understand, because the few lines of text often updates to fast for them to read, and you can't use Side Chanel. Another problem is that because VON is bugged, Trolls are even worse, because they are able too hide behind the bug. Even if the Side Chanel bug is fixed. VON abuse will still be any online game Nr1 issue. being able to mute players is a must, and we have it.... BUT why oh why, do we have too scroll a list of 120 players to find the Troll. The least you could do is divide players into teams by their respective colour. Love the game and everything Bohemia.
